This place ruined Mother's Day for our family. Worst management ever! We placed ourselves on the wait list for 6 people. After heading there with 2 cars of people and 40 minutes of driving later, we received a text that we have been removed from the wait list. This is a place trying ohhh so hard to be "hip" it's almost sickening. I came for a day trip from NYC, so it's funny to see Huntington try to play up the industrial look...that they don't have! Keep it cozy! BUT- granted- I do like new bright things, and it definitely has that going. Besides that, the food is pretty good. I got the Benedict Arnold, my dad got the Pineapple Pancakes. The pancake was incredible. Mine...well..the egg was super runny!! But it was good enough. Pretty terrible service, we had to ask for milk and sugar with coffee, and remind our waitress for napkins, etc. The actual physical design of the space makes no sense whatsoever. Speaking as a spatial designer, it was uncomfortable and tight in spaces that didn't need to be so, and spacious in others... FOR EXAMPLE: Both my dad and I's legs kept banging into each other in our booth. It was uncomfortable to get in/out, and an awkward height. I "get" what they're trying to do by creating little nooks, but it feels cheaply done without much full real thought. All in all- it feels like a cocktail bar turned brunch spot. This was my first at Hatch after hearing so much about it over the years and never going. I was always intimidated by the lines (pre-covid) but now that you can make reservations, I made my way there with some friends. They give you pre-packaged utensils and a plastic baggie for your mask which I thought was really cute. The food was really good. I wasn't here for the lighting (it was like an overcast inside) but that's the least of things. I will definitely make my way back. read more

This place is much-needed in Huntington. In the old TOMO space, the sunny decor and group-friendly seating creates a warm and welcoming environment. At 9:30 on a sunny, spring Sunday morning, there was a 20-30 minute wait. Ten minutes later, that wait increased to about 40-60. We waited 25 minutes to be seated, and were given a booth by the window. Our coffees and drinks arrived promptly. The Sail Away cold brew is creamy and delicious. Just a smidge sweet. The Bloody Mary was a standout. It was perfectly spiced and the everything bagel rim was a nice touch. We ordered the Hashtag Tots and Eggs, the Corned Beef Eggs, and a pancake. We waited a considerable amount of time for our food. In fact, tables that were seated after us, received their food before us. Our concern was that our food was sitting under the lamps in the kitchen. Indeed, our food arrive warm not hot. That was a bit disappointing. However, the fact that this restaurant still gets 5 stars tells you this: the food is very good. The corned beef hash is homemade (not too salty) and delicious. The Hashtag Tots and Eggs was original and very tasty. The hash browns were crispy and the sausage and bacon added great flavor. The standout was the cheddar béchamel style sauce was a great addition, as were the tater tots. The sunny side up eggs (diner's choice) were a perfect compliment. Now for the pancake: wow. This isn't your traditional pancake. It is a bit denser/creamier than the ones you get a diners and other places. They serve it with maple butter (amazing) and maple syrup. So so good! The service was attentive but not overbearing. Despite the fact that there were many people waiting, we never felt rushed. Our food should have come out promptly, but I am willing to say that there are some small kinks that need to be worked out. Given the menu and the atmosphere, I can't wait to come back. read more

Our Sunday brunch was fabulous. The man handling our table of 5, which included one nonagenarian and one octogenarian, handled our table with affable professionalism. What a cute new addition to Huntington! A friend and I stopped by today on their first Saturday! We were quoted a 30-45 minute wait but received a text only 20 minutes later that our table was ready. If we didn't know this place was brand spankin' new, we wouldn't have been able to tell. Everything ran super smoothly! Staff was very friendly, prices very reasonable and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious. I loved the gray/yellow/orange color scheme. I got avocado toast and one decadent cinnamon roll pancake. They offer pancake flights, so that's definitely in the cards when I return. My friend got an omelette and commented that the hashbrowns were amazing. We both got pineapple mimosas but next time, we will definitely do their table side "make your own mimosa" offering which a few other tables were doing. Great new place in Huntington's ever growing breakfast/lunch selection. Food is very good, love the pineapple upside down pancakes...they are unexpected, but definitely something I will order again. Also had the deli Benedict, very tasty but a little heavy handed with the sun dried tomato relish...I had to remove most because it was all I could taste. Service needs work. Hostesses seemed annoyed that we had interrupted their time glued to their phones. Too many servers walking around doing LITERALLY NOTHING! We waited about 15 mins to be acknowledged once seated, and then no one checked in with us again until we begged for a check. A side note: new restaurant= new staff who are unfamiliar with basic menu items...don't order "fresh squeezed" oj; it's not, it's from a box. Atmosphere is fun, if a little deafening. The upbeat music all but drowns our conversation, and do I really want to hear the "thong song" while I eat?? They said they did not take reservations, but the wait time wasn't too long at all(Especially considering we had just entered phase 3). The staff was friendly. I always go to The Shed in Huntington but figured I would give Hatch another try as I wasn't impressed with it the first time I ate there Went on a Tuesday morning at 9am it wasn't busy at all. The waitress was lovely and the coffee amazing. I ordered the eggs Benedict. I asked for the eggs well done and the home fries well done. When my breakfast came not only was the sauce awful and tasteless but the egg was runny and jiggle - which I strongly said I did not want when I ordered but the ham/bacon on the muffin was pale and tasteless and the muffin was soggy and hardly toasted. Just overall subpar. It totally made up my mind that there is no where else to go for breakfast in Huntington other than The Shed. There is no comparison to Hatch. The Shed is in a different league. If you want just good coffee then go to Hatch other than that stay clear. read more

I have heard from a few people how good this place was . I was excited to try so we went to check it out today. The wait was about 30-40 minutes.. after almost an hour we finally were seated. There really isnt much room to wait. I didn't want to take up room near the bar if we didn't order any drinks. So we sat by the door which was a mistake I was so so cold by the time we were seated and we were seated right by the door which constantly was being opened. Our waitress was very sweet but it was pretty busy so it took a while to get our drinks and food. Thankfully my Bloody Mary was one of the best I've had. Perfect amount of everything in it. It was topped with a jalapeño and olive which was a nice touch. We shared the Monterey Benedict and the pancake flight. The Benedict was really good. Bacon was crispy , poached egg was cooked perfectly. We choose blueberry , cinnamon roll and chocolate chip. Our favorite was the chocolate chip and we both agreed the others were okay but we could have done without them. They are not cheap with the toppings which is nice. My boyfriends mocha macchiato was plain but looked pretty. If it wasn't for the cold air and long wait I would have gave it a solid 4-5 stars.
