This was my first time coming here and I decided to study for a test with my buddy. It was busy, but the atmosphere was nice and all the employees were chill. The girl who made my drink was sweet and we had a small conversation about school and dancing. She was also really funny and just seemed genuinely nice to everyone she helped. Went here last night and was impressed. Staff were really nice and helpful. I like that they are open late (10 pm on weekdays and 12 pm weekends) and they have a big parking lot. The storefront is gorgeous. There are plenty of tables and lounge areas. This would be a great place to study and grab a pick me up. I didn't wait to long for my drink. Haute coffee is average. For the price, it's not worth it. My pistachio coffee was bland and lacked coffee flavor ($7.25 + $.75 oat milk). The pistachio flavor was missing and was just sweet. Rumi's make better pistachio drinks. For the price I expect good coffee. Breakfast burrito was bland ($9.25). I asked for peppers and onion breakfast burrito but was given something else. My husband got honey and cardamom coffee and felt it lacked coffee taste too. He got a caprese sandwich which was a good portion but lacked flavor. The bread quality was lacking. I tried vanilla hojicha for the first time today. The staff described it as similar to matcha, but leaves are roasted giving it a nutty, toasted aroma. The drink was flavorful, not sweet. She told me to try the salted praline hojicha if I liked drink today. I also like the variety of baked goods in their case. The onion and cheese scone is $4.50. The Elk Grove brick and mortar has finally opened up so I came on a Friday morning around 8:30. There were definitely people in there, but it wasn't too crazy busy until it got closer to 9-10. The line was almost to the door. The wait to order was definitely longer than the wait to get your actual drinks and food. You can't see the menu until you get closer up front so I recommend checking online ahead of time. My pistachio latte was pretty good, just wish they had a bit more of real pistachio. We had the strawberry croissant and pistachio croissant, both were good but I think I'd pick the pistachio first choice. They had a lot of people working but whenever I needed something, I'd just be standing there waiting and they wouldn't even ask if I needed any help until I actually tried to flag somebody down. I'm guessing they're just trying to get the hang of things but looks like they're just struggling to multitask still. There weren't any napkins in sight and you had to ask for utensils which we wanted so we could split our croissants. If they could have that stuff available already then we wouldn't have to bug them. There is a lot of seating inside, but it's pretty cramped and loud, so it's not a super ideal place to be working or studying. Well, it's pretty and aesthetically nice inside with plenty of seating, but the coffee was just okay for me. They have a lot of drink options, including several Matcha, Dalgona, and Hojicha flavors. My friend and I came right when they opened so it wasn't busy. I ordered the Caramel Praline Latte and my friend got the Lavender Matcha. The latte was a little too milky for me, and I wish I could taste more of the coffee. The Lavender Matcha was okay. My friend was expecting some kind of foam on top, but it didn't come with any. I have been eager to check out Haute Coffee since I came across their Roseville location when browsing on Yelp but hadn't made it over. So imagine my happiness/surprise when I saw they were opening a location in my hometown. I kept seeing people inside here over the weekend. When I went to check if they were open, the door was locked, so figured they were still preparing for opening/training staff. When driving by on Thursday (August 13th), I saw the door was open and stepped into a pretty long line. After a wait time of about 25 minutes, I had my drink in hand. I couldn't locate the menu anywhere online, but I saw in the store it appeared to be identical to their Roseville location menu. They have a case of pastries and that appear to be freshly made since I saw them bringing out new trays. I just tried one of their lattes, the Honey & Cardamom. The latte was good for me, not overly sweet. I don't like that they aren't transparent about their alternative milk option upcharge. (It was an additional 75 cents for oat milk, bringing the total of my Honey & Cardamom Latte to a bit under $10 for a small.) Service was welcoming and friendly. Even with the crowds from being newly opened business, I was able to sit down inside as they utilize the space well, placing as many tables as possible that can fit. It seems they aren't running the AC at all though because it was HOT in there. It was noticeably hotter inside the business compared to being outside. It's a very small lot and there are numerous businesses here, but I didn't have trouble finding parking. Very happy EG is growing in their number of good coffee shops! read more

I tried to avoid this place for a few weeks because I heard that it's been busy since opening. I thought I was in the clear, but it was still very very busy when I came in. Which just shows their popularity. I appreciate a coffee place that closes late, so I could see myself studying here on a late night. I actually was more excited to eat the pastries more than my drink. The NY style croissants are pastries you can't really find at any other place here in Elk Grove. I thought it was very yummy, but a little pricey. The dalgona coffee was done really well and tasted better after mixing thoroughly. Haute was a great stop on opening day. The space has a beautiful ambiance with plenty of seating for families. I've been wanting to come her sooner, but the first time we dropped by, there was just too many people and the pastry display was empty. But this time, they had plenty of pastries, so decided to stand in line and try some out and their drinks. It was pretty packed still, they have lots of seating, but most were taken up. Another thing I did notice is that the digital menu on the wall had a section that the paper menu by the register didn't have... Transcendence Coffee. Apparently it's the brand of syrup they use for those particular drinks, but still the same coffee as their other drinks. So just a heads up. Now... on to the pastries. Everything looked so good, but my wallet only allows me to get so much haha. So here's the tricky part, None of the pastries are labeled. So that killed a lot of time once we got to the register. We had to ask the cashier what certain pastries were. I'm not sure if it's because still soft opening or they are just waiting for their signs to come in... but they definitely need signs for the pastries, especially given how many they have. Oh, and they most likely need someone by the start of the pastry shelf taking orders and/or answering questions about the patties and the drinks. Waiting for the customer to get to the register to ask questions definitely caused the line to get longer. Now as for the drinks. Unfortunately, it was not what I expected. Maybe I expected too much? The vanilla dalgona did not have much of a vanilla/coffee taste. Even after I mixed in the dalgona in, my drink just tasted like milk. Same with the Miso Salted Carmel, we could not taste the Carmel at all or the coffee itself. Not sure if it was a bad day or what. What saved them was definitely the croissants. The spiral strawberry was very good. It was not too sweet, which means it's perfect haha. And the turkey cheese croissant, was very good. I wish i didn't share it haha. I should've just got another one, but the line was just too long haha. Oh, when we got our food, I noticed it was all heated up, which was good. And it was all packed separately in its own container, good in a way, but I feel like it's kind of a waste too? When we sat down, I saw a table actually have dishes with their pastries on it, and some guy brought it to their table, along with their drinks. So maybe they told the cashier they were having their food for dine-in? We were not given the choice, so I automatically assumed everything was packed as if it was to go. Like I said, maybe this whole experience was because it's still their soft opening, so hopefully they improve on their drinks and their ordering system before the grand opening. Very happy with this coffee shop addition to Elk Grove! I'm giving 4 stars because I had a good experience but a little room for improvement. The ambiance is great! Lots of seating and lighting isn't too harsh. They have several pastries and drinks to choose from. They did not have salted praline when I was there so we got the caramel white chocolate mocha and an iced vanilla latte. This place makes my kind of coffee! I like lots of milk and light sweetness in my lattes so the flavor was perfect. It was sweet without being overly sweet, or being too bitter from the coffee. Employees are very nice but seems like some may be new to being a barista or the machines malfunctioned because it took a while for the drinks despite being pretty quiet. However, the employees were very apologetic and kind so I truly appreciate their efforts, especially as a new business! I would definitely come here again! read more

3 and a half stars We were out in Elk Grove yesterday and decided to check out Haute Coffee Co. after hearing about this new spot. They've got a fantastic selection of coffee, teas, and a full refrigerated dessert counter. Even though it was quite busy when we walked in, the service was exceptional. The young lady behind the counter was exceptionally warm and helpful, breaking down their most popular offerings and giving us her personal favorites, which made ordering a breeze. Here's what we tried: Tiramisu Coffee: Absolutely delicious, complete with cocoa powder dusting and a crunchy ladyfinger on top. Rich and full-flavored! Strawberry Matcha: My daughter had this one and described it as tasting just like sweet strawberry milk--a big hit! Peanut Butter Cup Pastry: As a huge peanut butter fan, I couldn't pass up their rendition. They warmed it up for us, and it was wonderfully rich and decadent. The space itself is lovely with great lighting and cozy seating--a perfect spot to meet up, sip a drink, or get some work done. It was neat to see what appears to be a woman-led team working seamlessly together in sync. Been back several times and I am happy they finally setup an easy to use public wifi to makeup for the deadzone in the middle of Elk Grove. The cake pops they added are also very delicious and actually taste fresh if that is a thing for cakepops. The other stuff is ok and I did randomly get free stuff from management one visit to try and they weren't even sure of what some of the stuff is because it seems like they so many varieties' which is a good thing Hojicha is pretty good and highly recommend it if you want Matcha.....don't get the matcha but this instead. The Bad: I still think the location is a little weird and the outside seating area is a little awkward. Price I still think is too expensive for what you get with all the extra ice added. Matcha is still just ok and not sure why when they use good quality ingredients for everything else. read more

The coffee was actually really good! There just few things I would personally recommend. I usually forget to ask to swap my milk out so it always super helpful when they ask me what kind of milk I would like (that could just be my own issue ) I would also say they should definitely put signs on their pastries because I have idea what anything was. Now I don't know if the guy who came out passing apple juice to all the kids was a manager but let me just say.. THAT WAS AMAZING!!! I came here today and it's their second day opening! We waited about maybe 15 minutes in line which I didn't think was long whatsoever especially with it being so new. I love the aesthetic. It's so pretty and really comfortable to seat and hang-out. They open late unlike other places. The managers had a lot of patience explaining the drinks and taking the time to understand my preferences. The managers explained the employees are still learning and will accommodate if my drink didn't suit my expectations. I've been here a few times this week. Although the lines were long, my drinks were made quickly. I enjoyed all of my drinks. I had a cappuccino 10/10, roasted hazelnut dalgona with add pistachio crumbs 10/10 and the haus coffee 10/10. Service was great, but the croissant and coffee were not good. I asked for an iced white chocolate latte with oat milk. Once I tasted the drink, all I could taste was the oats in their oat milk. I couldn't taste any of the coffee, nor the white chocolate. As for the pistachio croissant, the croissant itself was okay. However the presentation of the croissant after being heated was below expectations and the taste of the pistachio cream is similar to greek yogurt; tart, no sweetness, and no pistachio flavor. Right when I walked in, I knew this place wasn't it. There were plenty of employees in the store, and multiple girls made direct eye contact with me as I walked in, yet not a single one said a word or even bothered to greet me. They clearly saw me come in, which made the lack of acknowledgment feel even more rude and unwelcoming. When I got to the register to order, the girls continued to give off rude, unwelcoming energy. After I finished ordering, I tried to enter my phone number for my rewards. While I was still typing it in, the girl moved past the screen before I could finish, said "oops," and didn't allow me to complete my number or receive my rewards. This already rubbed me the wrong way, but I got my drink and decided to stay and study. I also waited about 15 minutes for my drink, and when it was finally ready, they didn't even call my name to let me know. I originally thought the store closed at 12 a.m., but apparently it closed at 10 p.m. that day, which was my mistake. HOWEVER, the website does say 12 a.m. for the day I was there. Regardless, when it got close to closing time, not one employee kindly let me know that the store was about to close. Instead, their way of "reminding" me was to start stacking the chairs AT THE TABLE I WAS SITTING AT. One of the workers gave me a rude look, still didn't say a word to me about them closing, and proceeded to stack the chair right next to my iPad. I completely understand that employees want to leave when their shift is over, but there is a respectful and professional way to communicate with customers. A simple, "Hey, just so you know, we're closing soon," would have been more than enough. Instead, the entire interaction felt rude, passive-aggressive, and extremely unwelcoming. Even when I was leaving, the girls once again made eye contact with me, yet not one of them said goodbye or acknowledged me. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left, the customer service was disappointing. I'm still unsure how to say the name of this cafe. I assumed rhymes with "oat" like the French Haute Couture but apparently it's "hot" like a play on words I guess. I was so excited to try it and had waited so long for it to open. Unfortunately it was a little underwhelming. The coffee is expensive. My "large" size mocha (clocking in at a tall at Starbucks) was 9+ dollars! And that is a standard drink there. It was ok. I've had better and worse. I checked and Starbucks, Philz and Tule come in $2-3 less. I will say it is beautiful inside with a ton of seating. They have also added outdoor seating. The service was fast with plenty of people making drinks. I did not try any pastries because of the price of the coffee, but they have a huge selection of pastries that look amazing. What could be improved? The Coffee. There is a Philz Coffee right across the street-go there for real quality coffee. The latte I ordered was the same price as the sweet latte drinks (dreadful). The latte was milked down (like the other reviews). You can barely taste the "single origin coffee beans" they claim to sell. Compared to all the other coffee shops that have opened in the past few months, this one is below the barrel. Came here today (8/22/26) at 11Am, and the wait was 1 hour. There was plenty of seating, the pastry display was full, there was a long line, and there was plenty of staff. I went with my cousins and we ordered two drinks from the seasonal menus (pumpkin cinnamon roll latte 50% sweetness and salted maple brown sugar latte) and I got the pistachio dark mocha. My drink was sour, it tasted like artificial cherry syrup, not really enjoyable. And pumpkin cinnamon roll was so bland, the coffee was not strong. My cousins drink , salted maple syrup brown sugar was the only decent drink, but it reminds me of a Starbucks order. The total was close to $40... I'm not sure what they are known for, but I wouldn't really recommend or come again. This locstion is beautiful on the inside with high ceilings and a lot of space for a late night coffee run with friends and family. The name could not be more fitting: "Haute" is French for high or high-end, but they pronounce it "HOT," which is such a cute play on words. And it definitely looks Haute and HOT inside! I had been wanting to try Haute Coffee in Elk Grove after seeing it all over TikTok, so I was excited when we finally made it in. The line moved quickly, and the cashier explained the menu and made recommendations. From the fall menu, she suggested the Salted Maple Brown Sugar and it was delicious. My hubby, Tim, ordered an Aero Brew, their take on a cold brew, and loved it. We also tried the Nutella croissants, which were so flaky, buttery, and delicious that we each ended up getting our own. The kids enjoyed the lemonade refreshers, so there was something for everyone. I also appreciated learning that Haute Coffee's coffee is organic and pesticide-free. The shop itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax, catch up with a friend, or enjoy a coffee.
