Wish I could give this place 5 stars but the espresso is just too sweet for my liking. I would ask for less sweet next time! Other than that, We ordered a couple of pastries, everything tasted great especially the guava and cheese one. We stood around the front and took a couple of bites as we waited around 15 min for our coffee. Then walked inside the plant shop to explore. The guy working the espresso machine was kind enough to point out the bathrooms as the chick told us there were none. Lol thought that was kind and funny! Just note there are two locations and one one of them has the pop up coffee - don't get lost like we did at first - luckily there was the Fremont sunday market so we were able to ask the information booth where this place was.

Tres leches and cheese pastelitos are sooo fire . Take this review with a grain of salt bc I've never had the Cuban baked goods from MIAMI or DONT BECAUSE YOU MUST COME HERE AND TRY THEIR PASTRIES!!! I've been on a hunt to find my favorite tres leches cake in Seattle and they have hit my top 2. The cake is #1 NOT DRY!!! It's so *moist* and flavor is perfect without too much whipped topping. Chefs kiss! Owner is so nice! He gave us a Cuban coffee to try and man do they taste like the crack that would get you through a night of studying in college as my friend would say - sweet and strong. I would 1000% come back and get more of the cake and hopefully try more of the menu.

Updated review. We were accidentally overcharged but they've fixed the mistake! Happy to see I'd come back here for their Cuban sandwiches!

Be sure to check with them directly to make sure they are open. We used the published hours and they were unfortunately closed for the week.

I received a promo for $5 off so I tried to use it the previous time, but she didn't know how to apply it. Then another time when I order The Caribbean Plato with pulled roasted pork, when I got home, I discovered the wrong type of meat (grilled pork instead of pulled pork). For these reasons, I didn't go back for a long time. Today, I went again to get take out for my visitors. I called in the order so I didn't have to wait, but Gisela didn't understand my order and kept getting it wrong. I ordered 3 Caribbean Plato with pulled pork, and 1 Caribbean Plato with chicken thigh, but she kept repeating the wrong order back to me (2 pork, instead of 3, wrong type of meat, etc), so I tried it again and again, still no comprendo. I got frustrated and told her that I would just come in person to order. I was in a hurry, but I had no choice. When I got there, I ordered the same thing, but this time, I gestured the type of pork I wanted, using my hands to show pulled and tried to explain that I wanted the shredded kind, not the solid kind). Someone was with me so he heard my order in plain English. As I was waiting for my order, I decided to ask her once more just to be sure that it wasn't the grilled pork bc she made that mistake last time. Then she said my meat was grilling now. I was alarmed since they don't get the pulled pork from the grill. I told her that I wanted PULLED ROASTED PORK, not the solid grilled patty kind. She said something in Spanish to the guy who was putting my order together and he showed me a sample of the pulled pork so I said "YES" that's the one I want. She said they were already cooking the grilled pork. When I told her that she was giving me the wrong order, she said "it's too late". I was so upset so I said, "why is it so hard to understand my order?" Pulled pork is pulled pork, not grilled pork. I never even mentioned the word "grilled". A guy came out from the kitchen so I explained myself and he said what I want is the pulled roasted pork and I said, "that's what I ordered". She tried to explain something to him in Spanish, but he told her to just give me the pulled pork and I was on my way. She just ruined my day, and I could feel my blood pressure rising. I don't think I will ever return again. It's too hard to explain the right kind of meat to Gisela. Dining out and getting take out should be a pleasant experience, not a stressful one.

I might say it looks better in the day than at night. For me it has to start with the bun a crunchy or soft sandwich bun this falls in the middle though they put garlic and butter in it , I still need alittle something something. First time I got the classic cubano I don't know what I was excepting there was no wow factor but it was satisfying and the next time I got the steak. I much like the steak better more meat , since the place was small I took it to go . Now looking back if I was going to a park or beach I would definitely choose the cubano there was no need to added anything, but if I was going home I would take the steak , but the way I did both went to the park and went home with the sandwinch. The steak had more meat but I went home and added cheese and jalapeños and banana peppers it tasted good four stars.

Food: We were thrilled with everything, including the beef empanada they sent out just because. I have had my fair share of visits to NY but clearly need to trying the PR food there and also need to prioritize going straight to PR as well. Ive had the food in Cuba and this was nothing close to that so, let move on. We had the Pollo al Carbon, Coco Greens and Hushpuppies. For drinks we had the Rhude Boy and Sandia. The Pollo al Carbon was not good at all. The chicken was smoked (dry) and the sauce underneath it taste like nothing. The veggies and potatoes were good though! The Hushpuppies tasted more like cinnamon and were simply not good. The Coco Greens tasted like kelp and coconut milk. Service was also decent! Our server was kind and friendly despite us returning the first thing that came out, the Hushpuppies. The drinks were made and sat for about 5mins after the bartender made them while our server was stocking silverware. Despite the food being nasty and the drinks taking some time to be served, I appreciated that they included gratuity for the sake of supporting staff. Overall, I liked the drinks but truly could've lived without the food.

I'll start with the beef, as it was the primary component of the dish. Despite it being flank steak, it was clearly simmered for a long time - and displayed none of the traditionally chewy or dry properties associated with the tougher cut. The sauce also helped - it was very well spiced, and had a slight tomato-like flavor. Mixing this with the yellow rice yielded something that was really satisfying to eat. The combination of sauce, beef, and rice was quite enjoyable, even with mixing the vegetables in for some extra crunch. The portion size of beef was crazy. When combined with the rice, the total amount of food here was solidly enough for two full meals. It is around 20 dollars for the dish, but I would classify that as a good value when you consider how much food you get. On the opposite side, I swapped the maduros out for fries. These...were not good. The fries tasted stale, hard, and not appealing at all. While the portion size was high, the appeal was not. The sauce that came with these was interesting at least. Overall, I think this is a very strong core dish at an impressive portion. Would recommend sticking with the plantains as a side though. 8.5/10
