    Back patio
    Shaguna W.

Loved this place. It's deep in a beautiful neighborhood but there is plenty of parking. Service is so friendly. The cozy back patio is so relaxing, I could stay for hours. The wine selection is plentiful and they have some beer and non alcoholic options too. Diverse food menu. We had the Haven board and Haven bruschetta. Loved the bruschetta. The board was ok. We had to ask twice because it came out without bread and sauce for the chicken. I definitely will go back. Such a lovely place.

A neighborhood gem with soul, heart, and delicious taste. Tucked right into the charming Willows neighborhood, Haven Wine + Cheese feels like one of those magical spots you stumble upon when you're traveling -- except it's right here at home. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere envelops you -- warm light, friendly faces, and the perfect hum of music and conversation. The two co-owners, both locals, have poured everything into this place -- and you can feel it in every detail. From the thoughtfully curated wine list that hops continents, to the cheese pairings that make you want to high-five the chef (who, by the way, changes up the menu regularly and keeps things exciting), Haven hits every note. It's the kind of spot that works for anything: a cozy date night, a small celebration, a relaxed work get-together -- or just a glass (or three) of something amazing with a friend. The prices are refreshingly reasonable, and their wine club is a must if you love discovering bottles you'd never find elsewhere -- personally handpicked by the owners themselves. What do I love most? You can tell this isn't just a business. It's a love letter to good food, great wine, and the people who gather around it. The whole experience feels personal, beautiful, and intentional. Haven isn't just a place -- it's a vibe. And it's one Menlo Park is lucky to have.

OBSESSED!! Went here for lunch today and will definitely be back many more times. The place is super cute inside with a bar and some tables and then there's a large covered back patio outside. Tons of wines and tinned fish on the wall. Free parking out front. Staff was super nice and friendly. We had a tinned fish board with 2 kinds of fish. Their list is huge and has some really unique varieties. They also have a Spanish vermouth spritz!! I love these but they are so hard to come by. I wish they had more versions here but the one they do have is very good. My boyfriend had never tried it and ended up having 2. We also had the sorbet, which was very refreshing and another unique flavor with wine in it. Other than tinned fish, they had a small brunch menu with a soup, salad, meat/cheese charcuterie, waffles, overnight oats, something with eggs, etc. The other food I saw looked quite good but I think this place is mainly about wine, charcuterie & tinned fish. We were also told wine is 20% off if you pick a bottle off the wall to take home. Their selection looked very nicely curated with some different wines that I haven't seen in a typical wine aisle. Can't wait to go back!

We were able to check out Haven Wine + Cheese during their grand opening, and it was such an amazing way to be introduced to Lea, Sam, and the whole Haven crew! The first thing I noticed was the dream-worthy wine wall which showcases a large selection of bottles, with many being from wineries owned by Women and POC. You can purchase your bottle to enjoy onsite without a corkage fee, or take it home and get a 15% discount (not sure if this was just for their grand opening, but it seemed like this would be a regular thing). There was a nice selection of tinned fish, crackers, and home accents (beautiful wood serving boards, kitchen gadgets, travel bags for wine and snacks, and more), as well as a few local beers, and chilled wine in the fridge. They were still filling out some of their other offerings, but an extensive cheese fridge and additional artisanal snacks are also going to be coming to Haven soon. There were a few wines you could order by the glass, as well as a dinner menu which we will definitely be coming back for-the menu includes light bites/snacks (served all day), charcuterie and cheese boards, soups, salads, small plates, and desserts. I've got my eye on their mac & cheese and riesling sorbet! You can enjoy your wine and snacks at one of the bar seats, one of the smaller tables inside, or on their back patio, under an umbrella or while enjoying some sunshine. The atmosphere was so fun during their grand opening and you can tell that the whole community came out to support this lovely wine bar. Everyone working at Haven was friendly and helpful-you feel the warm, welcoming, family aura as soon as you walk in the door. We're not local to Menlo Park, but we will be making a point to stop by Haven for some wine, food, and good vibes! Congratulations to Lea & Sam on an amazing first day, and we can't wait to come back!

European cafe quality food featuring interesting selections like tinned fish along with gourmet cheese and charcuterie, curated wine and beer options, and friendly personal service on a comfortable and attractive backyard patio made for a lovely, relaxing, and gastronomically satisfying time outdoors on a gorgeous day. If you appreciate good food and wine, come and savor. They've only been open 3 weeks and we'd love to see them continue and go strong. There aren't enough places like this. I'll update this review as they involve. We look forward to returning.

Wow, this is such a great neighborhood wine bar! Came here after grabbing some pizza next door. Had a glass of white wine. Great service, beautiful interior. Next time I'll come back\, try some of the bites, and want to check out the back patio if weather permits.

Haven was such a fun surprise last night! The wine list is obviously amazing, the Haven board was delicious, but the service is what truly sparkled. Iris is an absolute gem, her recommendations were right on point, but it was her sense of humor that was perfection. Pro tip- order the Sauvignon Blanc and watch her face . I would honestly come back just to hang with her. Ambiance couldn't be cuter, awesome place to hang. Can't wait to come back!

I drove from San Jose to meet up with wine drinking friends who wanted to check out Haven on their opening weekend. Lucky for me they carry sour beer!!! All the food we tried was unique, fresh and super tasty and reasonably priced. I didn't know gourmet tin fish was a thing but now it's my thing - bought 5 different ones to take home to try. Very inviting place, beautifully decorated and the back patio was cozy. My friend was so impressed that he spoke with the owners about booking his company's Christmas party . Definitely worth checking out... wish there was one of these in San Jose.

Such an amazing find! The ambiance is on point. The playlist was perfect. We ordered a bottle of bubbly and the charcuterie board. Exactly what we needed after a long day of virtual meetings. We plan on becoming usuals.

Great spot if you like tin fish and wine. I enjoy the collection of tin fish that Haven serves. They have a great selection of wines that will please any palate. The service is attentive and friendly. Haven is exactly what is needed in the neighborhood.

Great place to spend an afternoon on the comfortable patio! Friendly service and great selection.

tinned fish board and chilled red

I came for a drink and snack after work and Haven was a surprise and delight. An almost ethereal ambiance, unexpectedly amazing tinned fish selection (100+). Service was friendly and welcoming. I ordered a glass of chilled red and a tin fish board. The house made chili crisp was a highlight! When I was there I heard they launched reservations and will launch a brunch menu, so I look forward to sampling that. Perfect size for cozy events.

It seems pointless and deceptive to add a mandatory "20% service charge", just add $15 to the cost and be done with it... After tax and the mandatory tip, it comes out to a little under $100 per person. You're seated in the hotel lobby, which is a little odd and uncomfortable. A lot of the lobby chairs aren't really meant for sitting at a table, so you have to prop yourself up in an uncomfortable position for most of the meal. While the presentation of the food was nice, I found the menu to be heavily unbalanced toward the sweet items. There were far more desserts and pastries than there were savory bites to balance them out. By the end of the tea, I felt completely sugared out and heavy. The pastries were all very well-made, but after a while, the lack of savory options made the experience a bit overwhelming. For the price, I was hoping for a better ratio of sweet to savory to make the meal more enjoyable from start to finish. You also only get 2 teas, which I found I had to ration throughout the meal so I could balance out the sugary pastries with something. It was a cute experience, but if you don't have a massive sweet tooth it's not worth it. If you have to go, I would box up the sweets and take them to go because it's uncomfortable to try and finish it all in one sitting.

The staff were warm and nice and I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I ordered a coke to drink and my partner had a French beer. We proceeded to order the charcuterie and french onion soup for appetizers and the duck breast and french burger for entrees. The soup came and it was fine- it tasted like french onion soup. The charcuterie never came; I guess they forgot to put the order in or forgot to make it. It was awkward just sitting there starving while my husband ate his soup though. We figured maybe they were bringing it after he finished the soup so there'd be room on the table but nope. The burger looked nice and was cooked to the ordered temp of medium rare. Otherwise it was like any other burger anywhere else, not overly special. The fries were crisp and well salted. The duck was underwhelming. It's $38 for this plate of food and it came with totally flavorless and dry mashed potatoes, whose texture was akin to boxed potatoes. No butter or cream flavor to speak of. The vegetables were so disappointing. They had no seasoning whatsoever and were as soft as baby food- I am not exaggerating on that. I was surprised by how mushy the carrots were. For almost $40 I expect more exciting veg than broccoli, cauliflower and carrots all steamed to death. The duck was okay. There was a large tendon running through the middle of every piece and I could only eat half of it due to gristly fat. The port wine reduction that covered it totally masked the flavor of the duck. All I tasted was soy sauce. We let them know about the missing charcuterie to make sure it was not included on the bill. Other small things that detracted from the experience included them never clearing any dishes from the table (like the basket from the complimentary bread, appetizer plates or the huge wine glasses that neither of us needed) and not checking in on us to see how everything was going. The table was so cluttered it was hard to eat. It took a really long time to get the check and was so uncomfortable just sitting there obviously done with our food. For the prices charged I expected a higher level of service that was blatantly absent. Overall will not return. Over priced, slow, bland food.

This place is a hidden gem in downtown Palo Alto. (don't be confused that the door says Curry…read morePizza) I went here with friends for the first time last week and enjoyed it so much! The drinks/cocktails are great with an extensive selection in addition to their willingness to make things not on the menu as long as they have the ingredients. We only had "bar food" (french fries, onion rings, and my friends had wings) but the menu looked really interesting. Next time I will go back for some pizza or other things on the menu. The most unexpected part of the evening happened when they brought out a "cake" made of brownies and candle in it! My friend sneakily told them it was my birthday. The brownie cake was delicious and enough for many more than the 3 of us. Such a great place and I will be back soon!

It's a bit small but we got some seats at the bar. The wall art was beautiful. They had TVs to watch sports. Then had a good amount of brews to choose from but of course we were there for the hard stuff. We decided to order just a salad. We had a spicy chicken salad and it was really good. Really good portion too. We also had a couple martinis and cognac neat. The bartender/server was very personable and very knowledgeable about liquor. Especially tequila. A nice spot to hang. Would stop by again if in the area.
