We chose to sit outside, and the atmosphere was beautiful. The relaxing music and the sound of the water made the whole experience even more special. The Sultana Combo looks like not a lot of food, but is actually a lot of food! 3 adults ate this, had their fill, but still had some leftovers for the next day. My favorite part was the rice, other people's favorite parts were the veggies or the soup (we don't usually eat a lot of protein, but the protein was also good!). It's not an elevated, elegant dish, especially not to-go-ed, but it's hearty, homey, and filling. There wasn't a part we didn't like or didn't think was worth the money. They have ample indoor and some outdoor patio seating; on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, seems lime many people opted for the outdoor seating. While waiting for my pick up order, there was one party in front of me that waited for (apparently) an excessive amount of time because the kitchen was backed up. The workers were extremely kind, and even gave them baklava as an apology! Small things like that show that the store cares more for the community than just getting orders out. My only gripe is that I felt like everything was extremely salty--the three of us were chugging water all night after our meal. I think the salt levels work well if there was plain rice or plain veggies, but when everything is salted so each part of the dish can be eaten alone, you end up feeling parched and bloated at the same time... not a good feeling. Sultana is a beautiful Mediterranean spot in Menlo Park. I stopped by for lunch on a Saturday and was surprised to find it empty, but it made for a wonderfully quiet and relaxing meal. The food was really delicious and beautiful presentation with the salads. Great service and we ate out on the back patio. The reason I didn't give it five stars is they do not have any butter at their restaurant. The bread was delicious it came with bread and pita at the table but no butter and they do not have 100% olive oil. I asked for us plain dish of dipping oil instead of the herb version and he brought me out a little dish and it was yellow looking. True olive oil is greenish. So I asked our waiter to show me the jar that he serves from. He brought me out a big plastic jug of canola oil. They do not serve Real olive oil so that really was a turn off. If you want dipping oil for your bread bring your own olive oil. It was pretty shocking! Especially since it's a Mediterranean restaurant and that's where they produce olive oil. read more

We were seated outside in the back patio. We shared pita bread and Spanakopita. For an entree, I got the stuffed pomegranate beef with a side of fries. It was very delicious. The beef was juicy, and I love how pomegranates are added to many dishes in Middle Eastern cuisine. For dessert, we got Knafeh, which I have grown to really enjoy. It's made out of kataifi (shredded phyllo dough), a sweet cheese filling, and is soaked in a sugar syrup (attar), which is often flavored with rose water and orange blossom water. This place is so adorable and amazing. We got the appetizer sampler, black tea, Turkish beer, and seafood kabob. Everything was 10/10 delicious, and I want to go back again. The salmon and shrimp were so flavorful, and the accompanying veggies paired so well together. The appetizer platter gives you a lot of different things to sample, so I highly recommend ordering one. Met a friend for lunch. Ordered sea bass, lamb kebab, pomegranate salad, falafel and babaganoush with cucumbers for dipping. All salads were made with wilted arugula that tasted rubbery. The cucumber slices had the texture of not spoiled but not fresh. Lamb was chewy. The sea bass was cooked beautifully but the fish was dense and heavy. I'm normally a plate cleaner, but left most of my meal untouched. I resent paying $100+ for a lunch so dismal. Last night's dinner was fantastic and the service great. We started with Feta Rolls - fried filo pastry stuffed with feta cheese, which was great and tasty. We followed the appetizer with an order of Lahmacun - Turkish style Lamb Pizza with thin crust. It was so good that we just couldn't put it down. For the main course we asked for the Musaka - layers of eggplant & potatoes with ground lamb and beef topped with bechamel sauce. To accompany these excellent food selections, we chose Turkish Syrah wine - a perfect choice. We visit Sultana on regular basis and have never been disappointed! We had a delicious dinner at Sultana this evening. It was our first visit and we were quite impressed with the food and the staff. Two of us shared a wonderful prawn appetizer, perfectly prepared and seasoned. I had the lamb kabobs-3 skewers of excellent meat. Two of us had lamb chops and they raved about them. The plates also included beautifully cooked cauliflower and zucchini. One of us is vegetarian and she had falafel, lentil soup, and a salad (and there were several other options). There was not one dish we did not think was excellent and the portions were very generous. The prices were quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food and the staff was very attentive. The inside of the restaurant is decorated like it is outdoor with window shutters. Service is wonderful. They seated our party of 6 in a round table at a private corner. I ordered a chicken kebab, it was juicy and the rice was delicious. My friends had salmon kebab, combo kebab, and pomegranate kebab. They all loved their dishes. I love Mediterranean cusine. When I came here with my friends it was pretty, it was pretty empty. And I thought to myself, "uh oh should we be concerned?" Turns out no because it was around Ramadan meaning that everyone was going to come here for the delicious food after sunset. Dolma was nice. Now babaganush is probably my favorite style if dip from Mediterranean cuisine, but I felt here it was just okay. But everything else was good. For my entree I got the divan. Which is a mix of beef and lamb meat wrap which I believe us baked and cheesevoutvon top with their yougrut sauce and spinach. It was enjoyable pretty good.
