We came here for a birthday, and had a pretty good experience overall. As we entered, we were greeted early for our reservation and offered space in the lounge to spend the last hour of happy hour. For small bites, we had truffle fries and spicy tuna/crispy rice bites--both quite good. After making our way to our table, we ordered an assortment of oysters, all with great flavor and texture quality with flavorful mignonettes--including what tasted like a yuzu-pineapple combination that added another dimension to the flavor of the oysters. After these, we got our entrees: kids' chicken and tenders, seafood risotto and roasted lamb shank. In my opinion, the latter most was the best of the bunch, with earthy, rich flavors and fantastic texture. The chicken tenders and fries were good--standard, but good--and the seafood risotto was fairly underwhelming. It appeared more akin to a black rice with broth rather than a true risotto, which was fairly disappointing. That's what really gives it a "three-star" position in my mind, in spite of the great lamb shank. The service and ambiance were very serviceable as well. Overall, the experience was pretty good--ultimately, however, multiple aspects served to cancel out many of the good details present. read more

We found a restaurant off the Hudson that had a killer view of the July 4th fireworks. Not only was the food impressive the service was also amazing. The skirt steak was perfect and so flavorful. The oysters were delicious and loved the variety. Lamb shank cooked perfectly, and the watermelon and feta salad went well with the items and humidity. Ended the meal with chocolate mousse, and cheesecake both made in house. Wouldn't mind coming back here in the future and a non holiday weekend. read more

The place is next to a walking route by the Hudson River so after or before your meal you can stroll by there and enjoy the view of NYC as well as the water. I ordered the salmon without everything they add only mushrooms and by far the best cooked salmon I've ever had; I'm 44 so I've had plenty. My friend ordered the duck and had the rest of what she didn't eat the next day for leftovers; she enjoyed it too. We were both happy with the quality of the food. The service was great. We didn't wait too long for waiters to be around for anything we might of needed. We were both happy with that too. If I have to say anything bad at all is that in the bathroom it would be a good idea to have something to dry our hands with. I saw towels but nowhere to place them once we use them. They have a no smoking policy for the outdoor seating area which is great for people allergic to smoke. Valet parking is $10 as of this review. They also have garage parking. Overall 5 stars. Went for Sunday brunch with my fiancée. We started with half a dozen oysters, Atlantic and pacific. They were fresh and of good quality. I had the pulled pork Benedict and he had the American breakfast plate. Both dishes were delicious and it was very filling. My Bloody Mary was not the best so I got a mimosa for my second drink. The brunch set is worth it. We didn't get to sit outside but got a nice seat facing the view. Make sure to make reservations because it's a popular spot for weekend brunch. Originally came here for Happy Hour (not pictured) but did NOT disappoint! It was very well priced and the portions were great! Ended up staying for dinner and got the New Strip was was VERY pleased at the cut of the meat and the temp on it as well. For a side, I got the Maine Lobster Mashed Potatoes and while that wasn't my favorite thing I'd still rate it at about a 7 (and honestly might order it again in the future lol). Not really a dessert girly but since I loved just about everything else I had that night I felt like treating myself some more to the Churro Cobbler and that didn't disappoint either. A littler on the sweeter side but I still really enjoyed! 10/10 recommend here based on Happy Hour, Dinner, Dinning experience, and drinks! I'll for sure will be back! read more

We went back to Haven after a year to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is by the river, has midtown view from its dining area. This time we got some new items. Shrimp firecrackers that were okay, the outer layer seemed stale. The scallops were nice but the potatoes and the blanc sauce wasn't tasteful to me. For entree got the sea bass, that to my surprise was served with noodles and miso broth, making it a ramen bowl. The fish was cooked really nice, runny eggs were delightful, but the ramen bowl wasn't an upscale dish to me. Finally we also got the steak skirt which wasn't tasty at all. The service is still a problem here, hard to get hold of them during the dine-in. Other than nice NYC view this place doesn't offer anything worthwhile for me. read more

During my visit on March 31 for a 7:00 PM reservation, the view of the NYC skyline was exceptional and enhanced the overall ambiance. The hostess was welcoming, the menu offered great options, and the food was well seasoned and very good. However, I do have a significant concern regarding our waiter's behavior. Throughout our two-hour visit, he repeatedly ran his fingers through his hair directly in front of guests. I personally observed this at least seven times. This behavior is unsanitary and inappropriate, particularly in a food service environment, and should not occur while serving customers. I hope management addresses and corrects this issue promptly, as it detracts from an otherwise excellent dining experience. For this reason I cannot provide a higher rating. read more

This restaurant was on my 'go-to' list for a while, and it was worth the wait. We made reservations for a Sunday dinner. Although it was a little cold/breezy outside, I really like the option of outdoor seating directly next to HEATED LAMPS. Their outdoor patio is spacious and tranquil right next to the Hudson river. That is likely the only way you'd convince me to eat outdoors intentionally. I noticed that's a trend at some restaurants in the area, near the water (Son Cubano has this option as well, for example). However, we still opted to dine inside with a gorgeous view (to our right) of the Hudson & NYC across the water. Quick tip - parking near the restaurant is scarce so... good luck! Small fun fact about me - I purposely look for two specific items on any menu, especially if it's an upscale-ish restaurant. Octopus and/or Duck. Majority of the time, I browse the menu before going to any food establishment. So, needless to say, I had high hopes and expectations for the octopus AND duck here. I had the charred octopus (tentacles) as an appetizer and roasted duck for my entree. Both were divine! The portion versus the price for the octopus left a lot to be desired. But, it was delicious!! Duck is my favorite poultry and they did an amazing job at Haven. My palate was pleased with every bite. My friend ordered the arancini balls as an appetizer and the grilled branzino as an entree. I sampled both - the arancini was underwhelming, but that was to be expected because I have never enjoyed that anywhere I've gone. The branzino, o.m.g. - chef's kiss! I would absolutely order that for myself on the next visit. Everything from food to ambiance/atmosphere was beautiful and delightful. The service was good, too. Have not had the food. Not from around here, and happened to walk in. If you're looking to wind down with a simple glass of white wine, this is not the place. I was charged $24 for a glass of not-so-special white wine and midday! I was told they charge by the number of ounces you order, and in all utter classlessness, the girl is holding a glass up to the light to see how many ounces she is pouring. I've been around the world, Manhattan, Europe and beyond, and have never see such a lack of class in my 71 years on Earth! What a place to be! Haven had all the fancy, upscale brunch vibes. A pretty poppin restaurant in Edgewater with a great view of the city skyline across the water. We found parking on a street nearby but we also noticed a garage with some free (2 hour?) spaces on the first floor close by. The staff is polite, proper, and very well trained Expensive but standard for the area honestly & still a tasty meal. We opted for their pre fixe brunch menu that comes with an entree and 2 drinks (choose from Mimosa, Bellini, Bloody Mary) for $39 pp. Speaking of drinks -- they were STRONG. We ordered two rounds of 2 mimosas and 2 bellinis but noted each one looked different than the other. This is definitely the type of brunch place that could send me to another planet if I tried. As for the shrimp cocktail, only three shrimp came with it. For $22, you'd think we could at least get enough shrimp to cover the rim of the glass! Shrimp cocktail app was good but definitely too small of a portion for a pretty penny. The cocktail sauce was good - remember to drench your shrimp in it if you get it! Now onto the HITS, the truffle mac and cheese (without bacon) was amazing! So amazing that we had to get another order of it for the table. Again, the portion was very small but the flavor was everything. There was pecorino, truffle oil, and mushrooms -- all the things! Of course, these flavors tied together perfectly well. The entire table was impressed and we all collectively wished it was a bigger plate. DEFINITELY recommend this dish, they absolutely nailed it! I am a serial huevos rancheros orderer so of course, I had to get the casserole huevos rancheros (without chorizo) and was just thrilled with the plating and taste of my dish. The green salsa Fresca was zesty & flavorful and complemented the eggs nicely. The salad and pico was a delight & everything came together perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal!! Left no crumbs. Would recommend the dish to anyone. Steak and eggs were good -- we noticed that they already cut the steak into pieces, made it easy to eat! The eggs Benedict were also a hit and the farm house breakfast sandwich was very filling. The famous breakfast potatoes served as sides were so crispy and seasoned nicely, tasted great & I would honestly go for a full side of the potatoes next time! This restaurant was a delight. A bit on the pricier side but the views and vibes are there! Ooh. I attended a bridal shower here. It seemed to me that everyone had a fantastic time. The staff was super attentive, including the hostess at the front door who greeted us with a smile and offered to take our coats. I enjoyed a spicy margarita. Delicious. First you see beautiful flowers and gardens as you're comfortably seated Drinks come promptly. No problem getting a Bellini. Raw oysters, grilled shrimp, pasta, salad all great. My garlicky shrimp salad was quite huge and had many tasty things including radishes, and watermelon. We were too full for dessert, but the Birthday Girl got A complementary cheese cake which was also excellent. Not as pricey as I was expecting. Parking would have been a problem, but they had valet parking for $10. If you're into people watching there were some very glamorous diners. Ambiance: 10/10 I took my mom here for her birthday. The restaurant has beautiful, huge windows with an astounding view. You can go here for birthdays (both dinner and brunch), a business meeting, or a dinner date. One thing I have noticed is they do not sing Happy Birthday, they will bring you a slice of desert with a candle. While I was a bit disappointed about this I understand that it maintains the aesthetic of the restaurant. They have a seated bar by the entrance of the restaurant Service 10/10 The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Food: While on the pricer side the food is delicious and worth it. They have a variety of dishes. I ordered braised colorado short rib, cooked to perfection the barbocoa glaze is the perfect touch and the truffle mashed is to die for, you can really taste the truffle. My mom ordered seafood risotto and could not stop ranting about how it was made with black rice. I ordered two spicy margaritas and they were made exactly how I like 'em, strong and spicy. My mom ordered some mocktails and enjoyed them as well. I love that they used lime juice instead of simple syrups and that they offer mocktails on their menu. Our food was good, I wish it had been as great as the views though. I got a seafood pasta dish and my friend got a steak with a side of Mac & cheese. His steak was under seasoned and almost burnt which he didn't like. The portions were very small looking but surprisingly very filling. Decided to come here to celebrate my partners birthday. We came on Father's Day & even with that the staff was so sweet & wished him a happy birthday! Instantly I could tell that the service and staff were absolutely amazing. The ambiance too was truly one of my favorite things. I usually don't boast about how good seafood is, but it was so well done here. For apps, from the Prix fix menu we got the firecracker shrimp & char grilled wakame octopus. Both were amazing. They each had their own stellar sauce. And it was a pretty well sized portion too. (Side note: We also got bread & butter. I wish we had more of it because the bread was to die for, I loved it!) For our mains, I got the seafood risotto & my partner got the lobster pappardelle. Also for a side or the crab fried rice. I absolutely loved my risotto, it was filled with rich flavors. And my partners dish was amazing too! Loved the crab fried rice also. For desert, we got the desert tasting for 2 and my personal favorite was the white chocolate cheesecake, sooo soo good. Made a same day reservation to come to Haven riverfront and there were plenty of openings. The restaurant is conveniently located in a plaza along river road in Edgewater. There is a free parking garage near by or you can also park on the inner streets of the plaza. The restaurant is fairly fancy, very spacious, well decorated. There are a lot of indoor as well as outdoor seatings where you are overlooking NYC/the Hudson and it is a very nice environment to dine in. Our server came pretty quickly and took our orders without any issues. But the food took quite a long time to come out. Not sure if this is the style of the restaurant or it was just extra busy on a weekend. They also missed one of our orders, and considering how long it took to make our food, I was not expecting mistakes. Either way, food was quite good, nothing exceptional, but right on par with your upscale American dining. We got the duck and steak as main entrees and also got a bunch of appetizers. The truffle mac and cheese was very yummy and tuna tacos had an asian twist to them, which tasted pretty good. The fried potato slices had a unique spice on them, probably my favorite dish out of everything on this day. The steak was medium rare, tasted pretty good. Presentation of the duck was colorful and pretty, tasted nice too. Desserts were a lot bigger than expected and somewhat heavier on the taste than I would have preferred, but I'm sure those who prefer their desserts very sweet would love it. Price-wise, fairly reasonable I think, we spent over $200 for 4 people, which was expected. Chose this spot for my birthday dinner last month and I'm so happy I did. My mom and I were seated next to the window overlooking the Hudson and NYC unfortunately there were 3 business guys sitting in the table next to us that thought it was appropriate to be obnoxiously loud in this quiet space but I digress. I began my meal with three Pacific oysters which were the absolute best I've ever had in my life, clean and sweet. From there my entrée was the seafood risotto filled with a variety of delicious, perfectly cooked ocean beauties with black risotto that had a wonderful Al dente bite, My mom enjoyed the lobster pasta she ordered. For dessert I had the bread pudding which was the perfect ending to a phenomenal meal.
