I scheduled two facials, one for my and one for my Mother for Mother's Day. As I was getting ready to go I got a call from the Spa. They needed to push my appointment 20 minutes because the person before me was late. Unfortunately, this messed with our later plans and I had to cancel my Moms appointment. For this reason I gave them four stars. I really enjoyed my facial and the spa itself. The very clean the staff is very nice and informative. When you walk in you have to fill out a basic information sheet. They take your shoe size, and leave a pair of super comfy sandals and a robe in a locker for you to get more comfortable. They have a nice sitting/waiting area with snacks and tea. Diane, did my facial and she took her time. Listened to my concerns and addresses them. Told me everything she was using and what they did. I also REALLY like that all of their products are Certified Organic in Europe. Which is held at a higher standard than in the US. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I was curious about Lomi Lomi massage so decided to book a 120 min session at H.E.S in Litchfield. The location is nice and when I walked in I was greeted by a friendly front desk staff member who proceeded to give me a lei to put around my neck:) She had me follow her for a short tour and it was great to see the session rooms are behind closed doors away from the front desk as was the waiting room. They have two great showers with multi head sprays and a rainfall shower head. There is a sauna and a small locker room which she took me to and gave me a robe that was a nice soft cotton blend along with some good grip sandals. She instructed me on how to use the locker with a code of my choosing and left a Ghirardelli's chocolate inside which was a nice touch. I changed into my robe and went to the waiting area. It was Hawaiian themed of course with the furniture made of bamboo and books about Hawaii on the end tables. There was a beverage stand with little baskets of assorted teas, mints, etc. along with a water dispenser for hot and cold water. I filled out a short questionnaire and before long my therapist came to receive me and she was a very lovely person . She brought me back made me feel at ease and I knew by watching some videos on Lomi Lomi that the draping would only be a hand towel over your private areas because the idea is a continuous free flow movement of the hands and forearms while staying in contact with the skin as much as possible. She stepped out and it was great to just have the robe to take off so I could get on the table quickly. She came in and asked me where I would like her to focus and I stated my upper back and neck. The feel of the warm oil on your body is amazing and she definitely used copious amounts of it throughout the session. Sheets are not used and you're only lying on the vinyl table itself; this allows for the hands and arms to move freely under your body as well. It was a very relaxing massage, now was it therapeutic in the sense that hot spots were worked on for pain relief? I have to say no. But when you're working with that much oil it's hard to penetrate deeply and effectively whilst fighting against the "slide". And since my session was a long one the movements just felt repeated over and over which wasn't the fault of the therapist. It didn't feel like a "traditional" Lomi Lomi with the whole choreographed "dance" of massage techniques that seems to happen effortlessly rather it feels more like a fusion of it along with the therapists own style of massage. I could be wrong. I enjoyed my visit, the shower was so relaxing, and the staff were very kind. If you want a strictly relaxing massage give it a try:) read more

Massauses are great, but watch out for the billing part. My husband has bought me about $300 worth of gift certificates over the last year or so and I have enjoyed the massages. This time I thought it would be nice he also have his first professional massage, what a disappointment in the end. When I called and booked the appointment no one said he wouldn't qualify for the intro price (my fault on that apparently scheduling couples massage instead of individual massages for him to qualify). There was NOTHING special done as a couple massage other than being in the same room, that was it. I gave the receptionist two hundred dollars' worth of gift certificates and my husband tipped in cash and she said that was it. We got home and phones were ringing off the hook that she didn't collect enough money, she had gotten my husband on the phone first and said it would be another $139 so he gave her his debit card number and the spa charged $219! The receipt breakdown showed $50 mandatory tip to each masseuse, what the heck!!! I immediately called for a manager after getting the email receipt, there wasn't one available, convenient, so I asked when one would be available was advised Tuesday morning. Called Tuesday morning at 9:16 am, automated phone said I was first person in the que, phone kept looping back and after several minutes of no one answering (guessing has caller ID on screen and they intentionally didn't pick up?) so left message. 5 hours later no return call, I called again and got someone, asked for manager, no one available, convenient and asked when she would be back in they didn't know so stated I wanted a call by end of business day about the charges. Got an email instead from Jodi that they refunded our mandatory tip that shouldn't have happened but wouldn't refund on the intro price for my husband's first visit. Customer beware on booking and make sure you know exactly what you are booking for (recommend separate massages so your partner or friend gets the intro first time price). Massages were great, but prices and customer service afterwards not so much with the hidden fees. Not to mention some of the lockers like mine didn't lock had to find someone to come manually lock them, put two left feet slippers in the locker, come on man make sure the experience is going to epic before overcharging your customers. Lots of other massage places in the area, I already gifted my husband a gift certificate elsewhere for his birthday so hopefully he will have a better experience all in all. read more

I have been going to Hawaiian Experience for years, first was the one in Scottsdale, then Goodyear after it opened. now if they would open one in Surprise that would be ideal, they would have the main areas covered. :-) I have never been disappointed with any massage or facial I have gotten from Hawaiian Experience the front desk is alway friendly and welcoming, and the therapists really listen to what you are there for and what your issues are, they make sure you feel comfortable with draping and give you a choice of music or ocean waves. I have always had the Lomi Lomi massage and it is fantastic, I love that my skin also gets a treat when they apply warm coconut oil generously all over my body. Most people shower it all off, I chose to let my skin drink it up, I mean we live in the desert, skin is always dry here. It's a very nice facility, clean. They are friendly. Got the chocolate lovers for lover's massage 120 mins. If you actually want a massage don't get this package. You get 15-20 minutes of a actual massage. Most of the time they are moving sheet on and off of you. You end up waiting after the showers, for them to bring you back to room. The waterfall showers were nice but no soap to rinse off. They never went over what areas you needed work on, or read what you put on the paperwork. So if you are looking for a massage don't get this one overpriced and almost no massage. read more

I went yesterday for my birthday as a gift. I got the 90 minute Hawaiian experience massage. They give you a "facial", which is really only a hot towel on your face. A hot stone massage on both sides of your body. At the end you get a lomi lomi massage. Your private areas are the only thing covered and it's a relaxing massage. However I wouldn't suggest it for someone who wants a deep tissue massage because it only felt like hands gliding over me full of oil. The place is nice and clean with many amenities. They have two showers, a sauna, snacks, cold water, hair dryer, combs, etc. It's nice how they give you your own rob and sandals with a locker to store your items. Lastly, my massage therapist appeared to be sick which I didn't like. From the moment she introduced herself it seemed she under weather or was not having a good day. She coughed most of the time and blame it on the hot stones. Which I don't know if that's a thing that they make you cough? Either way I didn't want to take away a star because of her and just want to give her the benefit of the doubt and not include her name. Overall I recommend! read more

My mother gifted me with a 1-hr massage to this location. It was my first time. I was greeted by the receptionist who was friendly and checked me in without any wait. I was instructed where to change and shown to the waiting room. I was given the most amazing facial by Ashlee. She is a GOD with her hands. It was the most relaxing hour ever! Not only did she do a great job she was also extremely informative with my concerns on skin care. I will definitely return and request her services. I LOVE THIS PLACE!! If you are looking for a relaxing spa, this is the perfect place! My boyfriend and I have been to this location twice. The first time we came here, our visit was good. We had the hot stone massage. But the second time we had our spa, it was uhhhmazing! We had the deep tissue massage. We do obstacle course racing, and our massage helped us reset our body back to normal. Their amenities are awesome! I enjoy their sauna and steam room a lot! Very professional and friendly staff too. Sadly, my first experience at the Hawaiian Experience Spa was negative from start to finish, and I won't be going back. The manager of the spa, Jodi, overcharged me $120, and was rude and unapologetic about the fact that I was given misinformation when I booked the appointment. I have emailed the spa owner, Mike, 3 times and have not received a response. If you choose to book a service, be sure that you are booked and charged correctly for the service you want. Upon calling to inquire about the services offered at the spa, the receptionist I spoke with seemed annoyed by my call. She sounded irritated by my questions, and referred me to their website instead of providing simple answers. So, I brought up their website while on the phone. I then specifically asked to schedule a 90 minute lomi lomi massage for myself and one for my husband. I verified with the receptionist that the price for new guests for this service is $119.99, as stated on the website. She confirmed that this was correct, and booked the appointments. I thought it was great that our massages were scheduled at the same time, as I wasn't expecting that. The massages were mediocre. I felt that the therapists could have been more receptive, and I found it unusual that neither of our therapists asked a single time if the amount of pressure being used was satisfactory during the massage. When we went to pay and leave, I had to catch my breath when I was told I owed $360! I was expecting a charge of $240, as that was the specific quote I was given on the phone when I booked the appointments. The manager, Jodi, was unapologetic and stated that we had received couple's experience massages. I told her that I didn't schedule a couple's experience, I scheduled lomi lomi massages for 2 new members. She stated that new member pricing does not apply to couple's massages, and insisted that I owed $360, regardless of what I was told over the phone. It was a very uncomfortable, confrontational way to end our appointment. I paid the amount charged and left feeling sick to my stomach. As stated, I emailed the spa owner 3 times and explained the situation and requested that he contact me by either email or phone, and never received a response. I'm disappointed by the blatant lack of concern by both the manager and owner about my experience. In the time that has passed since our appointment, I have heard of similar experiences from acquaintances, and read several reviews that describe similar situations at this spa. First time here so I got a discount as first time customer. I had the body scrub and two hour lomi massage with Hayden. I have to say, I would never have noticed this driving in this plaza and even if I did, I probably wouldn't have been interested in going in. Its in a strip mall and the signage looks kinda tacky. I actually laughed when I saw it lol. When you open the door, you see the eminence skin care like so that immediately was like okay it's a spa lol. Inside is kinda plain at reception but when I was leaving I noticed the cute display of rubber ducks. I was expecting to fill out my paperwork in the front but she gave me a mini tour, gave me a locker with robe and shoes, told me to change, and then go to waiting area to fill out my paperwork. So I complied. Robe was nice soft and plush. Sandals were sandals lol. Went to waiting area and was surprised to find three other people there waiting. Went and made myself some tea after doing my paperwork. They have a nice water view there. Hayden came out to greet me in bare feet. I thought that was funny but it matches his vibe. You are required to wear a mask for your service. I think so are the employees. However, I noticed his mask barely covered his nose and I think he would kinda pull it down when he massaged me as I noticed it wasn't all the way up after. I usually close my eyes while being serviced so I'm not 100% sure on this, but I was a little annoyed by that cuz he breaths very deeply lol. The scrub and massage--no complaints. Pretty thorough and I like that he massages the stomach and upper thighs--not many people do that! I also liked that he discovered some tightness in my arms that I didn't even know existed! He was able to get most of my knots out and I have a lot of them lol. One thing I wish they offered on the paperwork would be a picture of a body and you mark-off in number 1-10 how hard of pressure you want. I had to remind him several times pressure was too much on arms and legs. He was apologetic and immediately adjusted, but I think if they offered that as part of intake form he would have remembered better. Overall I wouldn't mind coming back for more treatments. I really wanted to try their steam room but apparently it is broken and no one can fix it:( read more
