Pretty typical Hawaiian grub served in a clean setting and actually the friendliest gal who was serving, taking orders and cleaning who actually appeared to like her job!!! Pretty good, considering her age and the times, so kudos to that young lady! I usually have the Regular Teriyaki Chicken with Rice and Macaroni Salad. Yum! Great place to get your Hawaiian fix!

$16 worth? Not one bit. Won't be back

This place sucks. I ordered the large chicken and vegetable plate, and asked if they could sub the rice and max salad for extra veggies. They charged me an extra 1.50 for both, so extra $3. Total was $16....that's a lot of money for a meal but if the amount was right it would kind of be worth it? But they still somehow managed to skimp my order. For $16 including added charges you would think the to go box would be filled to the almost brim but it's just so skimp and not even close to what it's worth. Plus I got about 10 pieces of chicken...lol SKIMP and CHEAP. This isn't the first time it's happened. Won't be back, the food isn't even that good.

The decor feels arbitrary and hasn't grown in the 3 years between my visits. The bartop is tiny despite plenty of wide open space in the venue, adding to that empty feeling. But it's the only tiki bar for miles and it has a unique tiki + horror theme that I appreciate: emphasizing creepy mugs, playing vintage Godzilla on the TV, and a collection of drinks named after monsters. They also have custom mugs for sale, which is always awesome to see. My partner enjoyed her Chinese Mai Tai, but my Bride of Frankenstein tasted like light cream. The service was good. They were professional and personable and bantered well with everyone around the bar. There seemed to be plenty of regulars making the rounds in the early afternoon. So if you're in Eugene and want a tiki drink, this is the place to go.

Visited Oakshire to get some food and found this Hawaiian truck we hadn't tried yet…read more We were excited to see a menu that was a little different from the other 2 Hawaiian trucks in town and a very reasonable price ($15 got 2 scoops of rice, slaw or Mac salad and a huge portion of the main protein). I tried the Cod Katsu plate because I have never seen a fish katsu before and was intrigued. This was a VERY good dish. The Katsu crust was super crunchy and held up well to the deliciously spicy katsu sauce and the juice from the slaw without ever getting soggy. The fish was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough katsu sauce and I had to request more. My wife tried the Pork Bulgogi plate. It was very flavorful and tasty but the meat was so full of fat and gristle it was hard to eat. She tossed half the meat, that's why I took off the 5th star from this review. We'll definitely try them again, we'll be sharing the garlic tofu dish next time!

I also would have liked some more heat- would have been good with sriracha or chili garlic sauce. I would try something different next time but I'm not in a hurry to return.
