Dear Red Lobster Management, I am writing to share a disappointing experience at your Eugene, Oregon location on a Tuesday the 28th of July at aproximently 830pm . From the start, service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being almost empty. Our server, Lisa P., took a very long time to greet us, take drink orders, bring the appetizer order, and return for our meal order. She was rarely around, and at one point I had to ask the host to refill our drinks and clear plates. When I asked about the military discount, I was told it could be applied only to my individual meal, even though I was paying the full bill for my family. As a retired Air Force veteran, that left me feeling unappreciated. Meanwhile, the BJ's across the street was full while your parking lot was nearly empty. In my opinion, poor customer service is a key reason why. I'm not writing simply to complain, but because I hope you will address these service issues through better training and attention to customers. Traveling Christmas Day and a 2 hour wait at a Chinese restaurant. Decided on Red Lobster because it was open and it's been 25 years since I've eaten there. WHO knows? Well, service took a while to get started and was good. Food? Not so good. All protein was way overcooked. Horrible. The pasta I had was ok and the veggies were good. We arrived for lunch and were surprised at how few people were there, we had our choice of tables. The interior was nicely warm on this cold day. Floors and tables were clean and the lighting was good. Staff was very pleasant. We started with appetizers. We found the clam chowder to be smooth and creamy. However it was very light in ingredients but the flavor profile is good. Just a basic clam and potato chowder. Creamy and satisfying. The Dragon Calamari is named such due to the sweet chili. It is calamari rings that have been battered and is coated with a sweet hot chili sauce and hot peppers. This was crunchy, spicy and delicious. These are the first actually tender calamari rings I have had. They cut easily with a standard table knife. The Admirals Feast came with seasoned fries, scallops, clam strips, flounder and shrimp The scallops are battered and deep fried to a mild crunchy bite. It was cooked well and very flavorful, no mistaking it for anything other than scallops. The clam strips were breaded and very crunchy on the batter. The meat is tender and delicious, you can never go wrong with clam. The flounder has a mild flavor with a good seasoning but just a bit salty. The flounder is lightly battered, the texture is not too flaky and has a mild buttery flavor. Excellent with or without the tartar sauce. The shrimp was butterflied and seasoned with a very light batter. Cooked well and has good flavor, I liked that it was tender not rubbery. On the dessert menu, we chose the strawberry cheesecake. It has a generous helping of fresh sliced strawberries that are sweet not tart. The texture of the cheesecake is creamy and smooth. Served with a dollop of whip cream and a drizzle of a strawberry purée, we found it very light and refreshing. read more

We were seated at 1:00 and our food didn't come until 2:37, no apologies or attempts to make it right. Some of the food had clearly been sitting for a very long time and had to be sent back. We would have left but one of our party is handicapped and it took a huge effort to get them there. Slow and bad quality food, to many other options to ever go back. read more

Red Lobster is under new management and things have improved quite significantly. As soon as you walked in we were greeted and seated right away. The decor is pretty good. My daughter and I got a garlic boil bag and it was really good. It had 2 lobster tails that were very good, it had shrimp, crab legs, potatoes and lots of garlic. Worst clam chowder ever! It was white water with no flavor, hardly any clam bits whatsoever and served lukewarm. I asked the waiter if their clam chowder is always served like water and he said it depends on the cook. Shouldn't they all make it the same way? How do you mess up biscuits, by adding too much salt is what they did. Ordered a glass of House Merlot. Did not think to ask price because a house Merlot is typically eight or nine dollars. Well, they use duckhorn as their house Merlot, which was $14 and that little 6 ounce bowl of white water was nine dollars. Service was good, sat in the bar three in the afternoon not a busy time. I did get five dollars off after complained enough. He talked to the manager, five dollars off and he sent me home with two extra salty biscuits. Have to say the service was OK...the front guy was great.... But the food was very disappointing. My friend ordered the asparagus with crab..and the asparagus was smaller than a a thread and tasted like wood...I tried it and it was awful. This should never have been served is was so awful. I had the Serloin steak and it was cooked perfectly, but I needed either a sharper steak knife for a more tender steak...let's just say for $24 bucks...I was very disappointed . This was our fifth visit to Red Lobster. The first time we went was because we had read a bunch of bad reviews about it but those reviews all seemed to come from bad customers as apposed to bad food/service. We wanted to judge it ourselves. We have yet to have a bad experience. Today's server was Silas(?). Wonderful and attentive. Food was exactly what we have come to expect. Totally fine and delicious. The place is clean and the music is on point and not too loud. We love people watching and this place doesn't disappoint. We usually come here when we are forced to see a movie at Regal when the AMAZING Broadway Metro doesn't show a particular movie we want to see. Regal sucks every time but Red Lobster does not. So much variance in the quality of food and service, that it's hard to give an accurate score. I guess the fault must lie with the management. Today I told the exceptionally loud waitress that I thought the cole slaw had turned (gone bad). She said, No, that's just the way it tastes. I said, No, I have had it before and it tasted good and fresh. SHE DID NOT CARE. She only cared to argue with me. Occasionally, I have had excellent servers, and fairly good food, but no matter whenever I have ever been there, it has been very cold in the restaurant, even in the midst of winter. Not sure if I will be coming back much in the future, especially considering how expensive they have become. My friend and I had lunch today, as we do every couple of months, and it was absolutely delicious! The lunch Shrimp Scampi was a generous portion and the biscuits as always were to die for. Well shoot I went to red lobster for their unlimited shrimp feast with my son and I and they waited a full 20 minutes between each serving of shrimp now you know why they did that is because you get so full that you can't even eat and it's true that's what they did and we only could order three servings of shrimp that was very difficult to eat They should've brought it to us right away. We would order the shrimp. It would come come out and we would eat the platter and then we order as soon as we were finished and it would take 20 minutes don't bother with all you can eat shrimp they're doing you dirty on that one. read more

After being customer since the store opened Tonight I ordered dinner to pick up When I got home and opened my dinner it looked great however, there was rice under the grilled shrimp, the rice had hard Iverson of what appeared to be almonds, , I am very allergic to nuts so I called the store let them. The manager Sean was very rude and hung on.me when I informed him what I found I called back he told there are no almonds anywhere in the restaurant. I asked what the hard things in the rice that looked like slivers of almonds . He said they must be orzo. Horrible fish and chips, some of the very worst I have ever had and I eat them all the time...16 dollars for 1 thin, rubbery, greasy cod tail piece and a tiny handful of mediocre fries. My husband got the 30 dollar steak and left half on his plate. Seriously gross food for 55 dollars before tip. Our server was really nice, but the food was so expensive and bad we will never be back. Lets clear the air. This is Red Lobster, owned by Darden, the owners of Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, and several other national chains. I understand you can blame everything bad these days on Covid. But is it really necessary to only give one (1) paper menu to a party of 4? What corporate bean counter dreamed this up as a way to save money? I thought it was just Buffalo Wild Wings doing this nonsense, but no...Red Lobster too. Whats worse is...and I realize this is Eugene...the waitress starts proclaiming how one (1) paper menu is good for the environment, less tress cut down, how going green for the environment....blah blah blah....not knowing while every second she spews this stuff out her tip is diminishing. So after eating 3 good biscuits, the waitress brings our food. Once she walks away I notice there is no salt and pepper on the table. My bad. Again blame this on Covid right? Providing paper packs or wiping down the shakers is simply too labor intense for a Darden worker. So I waited and she finally came back and I asked for salt and pepper...something standard at tables before Covid. A minute later she brought back the salt and pepper. Whoops...the Food: The best thing at Red Lobster is the biscuits. I had salmon. It was $24 dry and not much flavor. Really with this quality of salmon, it's probably best to ask for tons of tarter sauce, and call it a night. She did include a complimentary lemon slice. That made the salmon taste like dry salmon with lemon. And of course she finally brought out salt and pepper, an apparent luxury these days for the baked potato. The baked potato. Well, it did come with the butter and sour cream. I fear the day will come when you have to even have to plead for butter and sour cream. After all...that costs money. The Caeser Salad was ok. It did not have lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, anchovies, garlic, Dijon mustard, Parmesan cheese, and black pepper. I'm sure Darden has "simplified" those ingredients. There was a time when Red Lobster was...pretty good. That was a long time ago. Good luck finding good lobster in Oregon. As for the salmon...any place along the Oregon coast...or even Fishermans Market in Eugene would be better than this dried up and tasteless fish they call salmon at Red Lobster. read more
