My experience was very overwhelming and unacceptable. I was given false information, they provided me with a plan that didn't even cover my particular insect problem, instead of fixing the problem, they continued to be misleading and cause a delay to cure my insect problem. Instead they multiplied, and when they finally say they got it together, they still did bare minimum for the resolution, and still charged me over 500.00 dollars! Be very careful with communicating with this company and understanding that once you give them your payment you are screwed. By the way you pay before you get the contract that is sent through email. You will be charged for service whether you need the or not. You initially contact them to come out and inspect and they charge you $125. The inspection results in nothing yet they still want to charge you $70 for an entire year for a problem that does not exist. Initially we knew nothing about the recurring charge because they don't tell you that on the phone. We believed we were being charged $125 once for an inspection. Once we received the email with the contract showing a recurring charge we call them back immediately. Once they find out that you are no longer interested the games begin. Transfers all over the place, calls disconnected, don't have your name on file, etc. I call from another number and they picked up right away no disconnected calls, found my name right away. The rep who picked up lied and said oh you've already paid so we can't provide a refund but after they come out just call us back and we will cancel no further charges. We were cool with that because we still wanted the inspection. After they left we called back and no we can't cancel without being charged $199 because they already came out. That's why they send you through the run around so they can lock you in. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!! read more

I've been using Hawx for a few years now. Called them after I got swarmed by wasps, they came out the next day and solved that problem. I have the contract service, so 4 times per year they come out for preventative treatments. Haven't had a stink bug, earwig, or ant inside since Hawx started doing their thing and my house is 140 years old with lots and lots of plants right up next to it. The pollinators are doing fine outside, haven't been swarmed, and inside is bug free. read more

We were working in the yard one Saturday when we were approached by 2 men on hoverboards asking about pest control. We are already customers of Orkin but they were pushy and insisted on telling us about their mosquito spraying. They had a whole show about calling a manager over to get us a cheaper price: about $89/month for 6 months. We felt pressured to sign up, as did several of our neighbors. They did our first treatment right away and it worked. 2 months later we realized we hadn't had another treatment (or seen any more trucks in our neighborhood). Contact info is hard to find. I emailed customer service twice to complain. Someone finally showed up while we were on vacation ‍. Its too bad this company is a scam. Now we are trying to cancel our service. read more

In my experience, this place is a scam. We initially called for help catching a mouse that got into our house. They charged us $50 to set down a mouse trap. No thorough look, just wanted to sell us a 1-year subscription. I bought it thinking that if there was a mouse nest that we couldn't find at the time, then we'd need additional ongoing support. I asked Hawx to come back a do a more thorough check, having found droppings in other areas. The technician tramped through my house with muddy shoes looked at the droppings and said, "There's nothing I can do." I tried to get out of the subscription after that, but getting out of it would cost more than the subscription itself. All the technicians do every other month is come spray around the foundation for insects and use a tool to wipe the webs off the eaves, which I can do myself. Now, I just called to make sure that my subscription doesn't roll over, and the person on the phone was so incredibly difficult, even asking, "Well, what are you going to do about your pests after you cancel?" I said, "None of your business! Just please help me cancel this." After 30 minutes of me asking the same question over and over, he finally hit a button and canceled within seconds. P.S. The account number you need to log in can only be retrieved by you calling these people... Again, in my experience, this is a total scam. Some friends and neighbors who have used Hawx said they had a similar experience. read more

If I could give NO stars I would! I have officially had 3 appts scheduled with Hawx. 2 of which were never fulfilled bc they don't actually get to the appointments on time nor do they call to let u know the appointment won't be on time. They literally dont tell the customer the appointment wont be met as scheduled. You end up taking off work and missing out on money for an appt to be blown off or rescheduled. I have missed 2 half days of work waiting on Hawx and nothing to show for it. They have completed 1 appointment, which after 1 month the bait is still sitting exactly where they left it and I still have a house full of ants. Today I had an appointment scheduled and as stated before they didn't make it to my appointment and I had to get to work bc I have a family to feed plus I'm paying a pest control company a ton of money for services that aren't being fulfilled. I literally can't afford to wait anymore. I called Hawx and was put on hold for 38 min and then hung up on. I have attempted to reach a supervisor via chat and was told I would hear back from a manager 48-72 hrs. So let me get this straight, you miss my appointment, make me miss work and now I have to wait up to 72 hrs to talk to someone?!?!?! This company sucks. Hawx Pest Control If I could give 0 stars I would. This company has charged me fraudulently for over $500. I've never had service with these people. I spoke with a rep today and asked for a supervisor and he told me no. Supervisors don't speak to customers and to hire a lawyer and hung up on me. I also requested documentation with my signature and the signature is not mine nor are the Initials agreeing to the terms mine as well. This company is a COMPLETE SCAM. DO NOT hire this company or even think about it. If I could give negative points for this company, I SO WOULD! They are ABSOLUTELY terrible when it comes to communication. Zachary Hott, Hawx representative, came to our door and explained the service but left out the most important information in regards to payment and even MISINFORMED us on agreement termination requirements. He informed us that service could be terminated AT ANY TIME with NO PENALTY FEES. Obviously was NOT the truth! HE ALSO PROMISED that the first quarter service would be free for educators. That was NOT THE CASE when I called the Hawx Pest Control Customer Service for a reminder of the promised refund of the first service (after 14 business days later). Instead, I was informed that Zach did everything he was NOT supposed to do to customers. The company did not own up to their faults and put me on a hold and dropped the call when I asked for termination process and refund of the first service. I have called 8 more times since the first call and each hold on call is averaging 1 hour and 45 minutes with call being dropped at the end every time. DO NOT BE FOOLISH TO GET SCAMMED. They will not admit to their faults nor communicate honestly as a business. Absolutely HORRIBLE company. read more

I was disappointed because I was expecting more from the first visit. I was expecting to have a full inspection on the first visit. Like for instance, The inspection of the basement which wasn't available before. Inspection of the upstairs apartment to see all the trouble areas. Putting down new glue traps, snap traps, and bait stations in the affected areas. This should have been done to get the ball rolling and started. So when they come out for a second visit, there's not so much work they have to do all at once, just saying! This is not easy for me because this is coming out of my own pocket. I just hope they don't disappoint me with their service and what I have to pay on a monthly basis. I'm not asking for much but to solve the problem and get rid of the mice! I would hate to have to go with somebody else and start over because they couldn't fix the problem and that do their job properly, just saying. Would be zero stars if possible. Awful company to work with. Sellers are misleading. Don't sign a contract or have an attorney review. Account Managers are trained to delay cancellation of the service but keep billing you monthly even though no service is performed. I requested cancellation and was charged 3 more months with service fees until their internal process of sending an email was performed to "officially" cancel my service. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income and the Account Managers said they couldn't reverse the service fees unless I renewed the service. Do a Google search and you'll see other similar stories including lawsuits related to their business practices. read more

They do not schedule an appointment to be at your home the sales people are liars and tell you you can cancel as it is a monthly subscription but then charge you a 200 dollar cancellation fee. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! First of all, our contract ended in May 2023, but we kept getting charged $89.00 monthly, and they stopped providing service after the May visit. We were told that the service would go to "month-to-month" after the one year contract term ended. When we called about being charged for June 2023, July 2023 and August 2023, we were assured that the contract was cancelled without penalty fee. Yet AGAIN, we were charged in Sept 2023!!!! This time when we called, they attempted to "downgrade" our service from $89/month to $40/month with a "free service call" to make up for the FOUR MONTHS without a service call. We declined their offer and stated we wanted it cancelled, for good, and we wanted a refund for the unused services from June, July, August and Sept - for a total overpayment of $356.00 ($89 x 4). We were assured that the refund would be applied to our bank account in seven to ten days. Guess what? That was nearly one month ago and STILL no refund. They have both my number and my husband's number blocked somehow, because they no longer answer our calls. When we were calling during this whole fiasco of trying to stop the payments, we wouldn't even have to give our account number over the phone - they would let the phone ring forever then pick up and address us by name. Now they just don't bother picking up the phone at all. We're considering filing a small claims action, because this is ridiculous. We shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops to get our money back for services that were never performed!!! If you use this service, you are a fool. read more
