Most unreliable and misleading company. Do not trust a word they say. It's money down the drain. They are fickle and say one thing at the time of signing up and charge you a different and ridiculously high prices every month. The contract is rushed at the time of signup and there is no easy way to get out of it. The cancellation fee is even higher than the monthly payment. When we actually speak to the agents to cancel the contract, we are again talked into staying or continuing the contract saying some discount will be given. read more

BEWARE, this company is a SCAM company, and here is how it works. They signed me up for a year on a tablet with a salesman. Try to read the document on DocuSign. It's impossible to catch every detail. I was to pay $49.99 a month for 12 months. However, I get only 4 treatments a year. I'm paying installments. I wanted to eliminate the slugs and bugs eating my plants. If the quarterly treatment doesn't work, they send someone out to spray again and again. Had a bad experience with Hawx. I signed up for their service with the understanding that I would be paying $100 for a quarterly home visit. as it turned out they charge me a $100 a month. Their service lied about what I was to be charged. I tried canceling the service but unfortunately they want to charge me $199 cancellation fee. This company takes advantage of senior citizens. We had just moved into our new home in Illinois when a young man on a scooter knocked on our door and spoke with my wife. He said that they would be working in our neighborhood. He said that there would be quarterly visits but that we could call in if we were having a problem. He also said that the contract was month to month but we could cancel at any time if we were not satisfied. He also had her sign something on a tablet but did not make any offer of mailing or emailing a copy of the contract. Since the first visit was so shabbily done my wife asked to cancel the contract as we were told we could do by the scootered representative. The company is now wanting a $200 fee for a cancellation and release for what was supposed to be a month to month arrangement. $200 plus 2 $49.99 charges for one visit sounds a bit steep. If he had left a copy of the contract, as is required by law for door sales we would have certainly exercised our 3 day right of recission. read more

If you're employing this company please do not digitally sign anything on their devices. They cheated in same way. When they approached me for their services I asked them to have service 4 times a year and salesman confirmed it will be $69 per service. And I agreed for this. He has taken signature for using my credit card, then he shows me that he will charging $69 for every service i.e. 4 times a year but he will never show you or tell you that in that agreement their is a section which says you will be charged $69 every month irrespective of whether you use it or not. He will also never mention about the contract. I realized after one month into the service when they are charging my credit card every month. The sales person never answers your call or messages. Getting in touch with Hawx customer care is not easy. Once we are in call with them they give all promises and obviously we will get satisfied and agrees to continue the service. But once you're call is done they enter different notes on your profile. They don't add what all has been discussed. I can keep on going on this. I have closed the account by paying $352 (without receiving any service from them). Beggars are much better, they atleast ask for money. They neither cancelled my other service, nor paid any of the cancellation fee so I paid 4 months for both companies, never got reimbursed for my losses. Two pushy hoverboards college age kids signed me up for entire season and main area was a grass and trees near the pond , what a surprise when next day the treatment team showed up and said it is illegal to do it in Illinois cause it is to close to the water..... so I didn't get any treatment , it is a Scam and disappointment cause they already charged me for it ! They said we were getting a discount for a one time service then came back and we said no but the tech has no idea and sprayed the yard. when we called they said we had one more and charged us again and again and again.. finally asked to cancel and they said we would need to pay $500 to cancel!!! paid one last payment in January... why would they come out in the winter?!? I am both sorry, but grateful for seeing other people having the same AWFUL experience with Hawx Pest Control as I did. It's not my imagination. I am sticking to my word as I assured Hawx that I would share my horrible experience with anyone who is considering pest control as they pretty much gave me the finger with respect to crediting me for services that were never rendered. First, DO NOT CONTRACT with Hawx !!! They won't accept anything in writing! No email. No chat. You MUST CALL them, which means you have no proof that you requested anything at any time for any issue - but, most importantly when it comes to cancelation. The credit card company didn't do anything, either, as Hawx just sent them a copy of my original contract, but nothing else as there is nothing else IN WRITING. So, I'm going to lambast Discover, too. Jerks. They used to be great about protecting the consumer. But perhaps now with the Capital One purchase looming, they don't care? I don't know. That's another review. I used to love Discover. Not so much anymore. Back to Hawx In December, a Technician shows up to treat my exterior. Yes, exterior treatment in December. It was a reminder that I pay every month for something I don't necessarily get every month. I haven't been happy with them for a long time. When Hawx does service, it's typically lackluster. I don't get a timely heads up, so half the time my backyard, which is the vital area behind a locked gate doesn't get serviced. If I don't know they came, I don't know. No notes on your front door. No flags in the lawn. There was only ONE Technician that ever did her job amazingly, and the proof was in the ability to enjoy the property. I'd have to request her specifically for follow-up appointments. So, after paying ~ $500 annually for lackluster work that may or may not be performed, it was time to cancel. I emailed them to cancel my service in December. I receive an automated message that 'due to the sensitive nature of personal information' or something to that effect, I must call them at the number provided. I did. I canceled the service. I even received a follow-up call inquiring as to why I canceled service. I advised the Rep. No charge on my January credit card statement nor did anyone show up (that I know of). Cool. Account canceled. Then in February, I see a charge. Huh? I call them as they will not accept emails. I reconfirm the account is canceled, but it appears a Technician serviced the property? Ummm ... the exterior in February? Ok. It was warm. But only the front of the property would've been serviced - not all. Whatever. I paid for the service. Last one for you, Hawx. So, imagine my disbelief when in March, I have my glass storm door open and see a Hawx truck pull up in front of my house. No. Can't be. No way. But yes ... I ran outside. Immediately told the Technician that I canceled over the winter and don't understand why he is here. He apologized. He went back into his truck without servicing the property. Phew. NOW we should be done with Hawx. Imagine my utter shock when I see a charge from Hawx dated March 8th. The date the Technician showed up was March 13th. I emailed Hawx outlining my entire ordeal. I receive an automated message to call them 'due to the personal nature.' I call them ASAP. Just so you know, the 'personal info' they don't want you to 'expose' is literally your name, service address, and phone number. So, essentially the same information I already provided in my email and most people do in a closing signature. The first Rep was sweet and understanding. She saw what was going on. Said the last Technician noted that service was canceled over the winter and the property was NOT serviced on March 13th. Unfortunately, she could not credit my account, so she had to transfer me. The next Rep? Jerk. As***le. How's about M****r F****r. (I put in the asterisks) Reliving my experience is literally giving me an ulcer. If I could pull him thru the phone and slap him silly, I would. No credit. Don't care. His response when I said, well, that's unfortunate as I will NOT recommend Hawx (and my neighborhood uses pest control) he's like 'do what you have to.' Wow. Ok. As I also advised Hawx in a follow up email to THAT experience - choke on my $43. You'd rather lose a $500 account times how many people I COULD HAVE referred your way had your cancelation experience been better versus keeping my mere $43. Math Whiz for sure ... but his aloofness was off-putting. I disputed the charge with Discover and shared everything I could with them. Their response was essentially, too bad/so sad. Nice. That's locked away in my craw for future reference. Shred that credit card. Please stay away from Hawx. The service is subpar, Customer Service is awful, and you will have to work overtime to cancel your contract. I'm afraid to see an April or May charge magically 'appear.' Very deceptive sales! My son had needed immediate service at college. I talked with a rep that said no problem! He discounted the visit and said I could cancel the subscription within 3 days after the visit. I called to cancel. Was told I could not! I have spent the last 3 days on the phone with different people in other states with this company! The sales rep I spoke with originally is no longer working with them and left no records of our conversation. At this point, I have contacted my attorney to get out of this agreement with them! Hawx started treating my home in August 2022. The agreement was $50 a month for treatment every 3 months. I put them on auto pay until I realized in August 2023 that they had only treated my home 3 times. After finally contacting them, they said that their technicians had quit and they didn't have enough workers. It is now February 24 and they only came out one more time after that call even though I was still paying every month. After cancelling services with them, they are still calling and hounding me for not paying for the month of February 2024 even though I made payments for 4 months without receiving any services. I would have given them 3 stars because when I did get service, it was prompt, professional, and thorough. But they owe me for 4 months of payment and they are hounding me for that 1 month. The bill was $20.00 but for some reason they went up to 55.00 and this is for pest control, it's snow outside now why are you still coming to my house? I'm requesting that you discontinue coming to my house and my card has been cancel due to unauthorized usage. I am in the process of seeking legal assistance if this matter continues. read more

I don't normally write reviews but this time it's warranted. Cancelled in October, was told I should allow the last service as we had already paid the monthly. I said ok but then cancel. They continued to charge their monthly service in Nov. and Dec. and when I called again they said... it was for the last service (this wasn't true, I was paid up in Oct., but I was confused and didn't figure it out until they kept billing into January. I was informed that one cancellations wasn't good enough, you have to cancel AFTER your last service not before. I said did cancel and I want our nov. and dec. refunded as no services will be rendered, they refused the refund of $120. this is fraudulent behavior as the contract was null and void after my call in October. Buyer be aware - deceptive business practice and annoying calls for payment immediately after service calls. First let me sat that the service wasn't bad, it was just very basic. I can and will do the same with over the counter products easily obtained from any hardware store. I don't feel the price is worth the service received. The annoying repeated calls for payment that start the day after they perform the service is the main reason Im cancelling. They email an invoice, but then immediately start calling like they're a collection agency. I "took advantage" of their "discounted" first quarterly service promotion and signed up for a 1 year (1 yr = 4 quarters right - nope!) service agreement. After the 4th visit I called to cancel the service and was told I had one more quarter to pay for. I challenged them on it and they told me that you actually have 2 services in the first quarter! So your not getting a discounted 1st quarter, they're charging you more! This is very deceptive and further supports my decision to discontinue my relationship with them. read more

SCAM!! Someone came to our door this morning and offered the service. The offer sounded good so we signed up and the first service was to be today between 1-3pm but they never showed! When we called the number on the contract, it was the "sales" department and they are unaware of any service times that is determined to come to the house. Asked about canceling as the contract states we have 3 business days to cancel or else we would have a $250 penalty fee. Hawx initially seemed great! Good service, responsive people, willing to give us a good price. Since the end of last season (2021), they have been no shows for appointments (apparently they're cancelled on their end but no one tells us) and haven't even been coming out for their quarterly service properly. I've called at least 3x for one particular issue I'm having which is under their warranty service and it's still not been dealt with nor has anyone come. This year they email saying because of costs they're almost doubling our price (from $89 quarterly to $50 monthly). I call them to tell them I don't agree to this price increase because they're not even currently doing what they're supposed to, and they straight up say if I'm not going to pay this new double amount they can cancel. If this is how they run their business, I want nothing to do with it! And on top of that I've already paid for this quarter but no one has come out and I don't anticipate they'll bother at this point. I've always been hesistant of Hawx since the moment they knocked on our door to solicit their services. But we were new and wanted to have a goog pest control company for maintenance. Hawx spends no more than 3-5 minutes on our property during every visit, and charges us $100 every time they come out. I can take a tall broom and sweep off my own spider webs, which we do. The final straw was when someone came to our house to day and said "I'm here to look around the house." He didn't go around the back of our house, and was gone 90 seconds later. Now I have to pay another $100?! Do NOT use Hawx Pest Control. I now have to figure out how to get out of this contract, which I've read is expensive and unnecessary. Awesome. read more

I liked the service provided by the folks who administer the products ... they were always very attentive and took care of the customer IMO. It is corporate and the way they treat their customers is the reason for me leaving this review and removing myself as a customer. Hawx has been cancelled. - Increased cost to customer by 25% with no added services. - Changed billing from pay as you go after each service to a monthly reoccurring charge that is paid to Hawx in advance of service. I called in to complain and they instructed me that they notified customers via email of this change. I scoured my email after that call and nothing from Hawx regarding this ... Not Surprised!!! They put down two mouse traps in my garage and charged me $50. I immediately called them up and told them I was not paying $50 for two mousetraps and I no longer wanted their service, tomstaybaway from my home. Today I get a statement in the mail saying I owe them $351. They are billing me for three, according to them, service request that I failed to acknowledge which is BS and they're charging me service charges for each late payment. Would like to know how I had rejected three service request when I told them after they were here for the first time I did not want their service and I did not want them coming to my home ever again. And they never did come back to my home. As far as I'm concerned, that's as plain as day and yet they continued or so they say to service my home. It's actually a bunch of crap because they did nothing . Did a much better job myself. After calling them today and talking to someone in their billing department, I have gotten absolutely no resolution from these people at all. They are absolutely a horrible company to work with, and I would not recommend them to anyone the're nothing but a bunch of crooks. I'll caught 13 mice with my traps zero for hawks to two traps. SCAM SCAM SCAM Door to door scam using bait and switch tactics. Tell you one you pay for each service, you can set up when they come and can cancel at anytime with no penalty. But they charge monthly fee, they decide when they want to come, and charge us $199 to cancel. Little too no communication of when they are coming contact you a few minutes before they show up. They spend more time taking pictures and knocking down spider webs than spraying or applying pesticides. Which do not seem to work, even came out to reapply but no difference in impact on the amount of ants or spiders in yard.
