CALDO SIETE MARES with huge shrimp and big chunks of octopus, clams, crab and fish. Hot and satisfying -it's a full meal

I've been going here since 1991, but I tried something new today - CALDO SIETE MARES. I had a taste for some warming soup and this didn't disappoint!

Went here for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is beautiful with plenty of seating inside and outside. Customer service is good. Order: Appetizers: Jalapeño poppers - They were not spicy at all but tasted so good. Definitely recommend. Chicken taco salad - I asked for grilled chicken instead of shredded, add rice and jalapenos. The salad itself wasn't too bad but wish there was a sauce aside from sour cream. The shell was extremely oily. The Enchiladas en salsa ranchera (2 cheese & 1 chicken) looked decent in terms of presentation but were lacking flavor. We were so excited to check out this place but not sure if we will return. If we do, then we will try different dishes.

Day after Christmas I was thankful a restaurant was open I ordered a relleno for takeout. I was impressed that the order was ready in about 3 or 4 mins. Was warm (i only had a 5 min commute gone), pico de gallo and hot sauce (salsa?) were very good. The relleno seemed to me that it was frozen then reheated quickly, the sauce tasted like cacciatore sauce and the refried beans were watery For $23 - I'll skip this next time

Hay caramba indeed! I'll start with the complimentary chips and salsa which were very underwhelming to me. For starters the salsa wasn't spicy at all and the chips unfortunately come unsalted. This leads to a nearly flavorless experience, but that's not where my problems ended. I ordered a frozen pineapple margarita to start and I'll have you know that margarita's flavor was closer to water than tequila. After realizing that a frozen margarita here is just an on the rocks margarita with larger ice chunks I asked the waiter for his recommendation. He recommended the mango premium margarita on the rocks which to my surprise was SIGNIFICANTLY better than my first drink. I ordered a Burro Suizo and while it was not the best chimichanga I've ever had in my life, it was pretty good in my opinion.

What great Mexican food. Hay Caramba has a terrific outdoor patio offering great people-watching opportunities on a pleasant day at Park Ridge. I ordered the tacos de pescado, aka fish tacos, which consisted of three tacos. You had a choice of either salmon or tilapia, and I picked the tilapia. The tacos came with red cabbage, pico de gallo and chipotle sour cream. My server put the chipotle sour cream on the side, which is a perfect touch, as I usually ask for that stuff on the side. Fish was seasoned well, and the overall taco was delicious! Meal came with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was a "2" on a spicy scale of 5. Chips were room temperature needed some salt, which the server gladly provided. I sat outside so I didn't get a glimpse of what it looked like inside, but from the pictures on their website, it looks massive. As far as the outdoor patio, they have plenty of seating, some on the adjacent sidewalk, the other more in the inwards of the restaurant. I sat in the latter, which offered just the perfect amount of shade on this hot Park Ridge afternoon. Hay Caramba also had margaritas that I regrettably did not try, but will definitely do so next time! Server was good, food was good, and overall experience was great.

If you've never been here this is your sign to try it! It's in the heart of park ridge and honestly what an amazing Mexican restaurant! My husband and I discovered this a decade ago and we constantly come here to eat and celebrate our birthdays with some amazing Mexican food! We love getting their tortas and taco salad and on top of that the inside of this restaurant is beautiful we love it and everyone who works there is so sweet! Such a worthy place to check out!!!!

Service is fast, food is delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The restroom was comfortable and the location of the restaurant was too

My son loves the shrimp tacos. Great weekend spot to get out and see your neighbors device is great and the table to table music is great

    Delicious margaritas and pina coladas

I don't particularly care for this restaurant and I never crave it when I want Mexican food, but it's definitely not the worst Mexican food I've ever tasted. I've had enchiladas here, as well as tacos. Everything I have had here is pretty bland and it's just eh. The pina coladas here and the margaritas here are pretty good though, I must give them that compliment. The decor inside the restaurant is vibrant and cute, but in my opinion, it looks very busy inside. Like too much is happening. On the other hand, the architecture is beautiful because the interior walls are stone and brick. Too bad they used some tacky color scheme to take the attention away from that. As for the customer service, it's not the best. Came here with my mom a few times, and more times than not we had slow service where the servers didn't give us refills or even check on us. However, when I came here with my friend recently, our waitress was attentive and friendly, even in the evening when it was decently busy. Overall, Hay Caramba is not my go-to, but it's not horrible. Food quality is decent, but to me, I'd rather go elsewhere and taste more flavorful enchiladas.

Fun place with great atmosphere and live singers. There are many Mexican restaurants but few that still have this sort of experience.

This was our first time here, and we came to celebrate a birthday. We had noted it in the…read morereservation and also had a conversation about it with our server. We were a little surprised when nothing was done for it, which isn't a big deal, but I'll be honest it was disappointing since we did come specifically to celebrate and had talked about it w our server. 3/5 Arancini - Very salty. None of us really enjoyed them because of that. They also came out lukewarm instead of hot. Would have been excellent if it was less salty and came out hot and crispy. 5/5 Fig & Mushroom (subbed for prosciutto) - The menu doesn't specify how the fig is served. Turned out to be fig jam rather than fresh fig, which wasn't what we expected. A little too sweet for me but overall still very much enjoyed it. Their pizza was cooked perfectly with enough toppings and cheese. Very good pizza! 5/5 Braised Short Rib + Polenta - so good! The short rib was excellent, just slightly salty. The polenta was perfect, and it came with a generous portion of wild mushrooms. 2/5 White Wine Cake (recommended as "unique") by our server - This was the most disappointing meal item. Our waitress told us it was special, but it was very bland and didn't match the description or image on their website. Their website showed a cake with a large scoop of ice cream on top, fair amount of whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! The only thing was that since we had come to celebrate a birthday and didn't end up doing that, the night felt a little less special than we had expected--but still a nice experience overall.

Although we are from the area, we had never visited before, and the photos immediately caught our attention. The bar fit our vibe perfectly, and after visiting a few times, we knew it was the right place for us. We rented both spaces: the main bar upstairs and Nightshade, the speakeasy downstairs. Moonflower has a small stage in the main bar, which we used for our ceremony. The space already has so much character that it needed very little decorating. We brought small flower vases and an altar piece that the bride and her now mother in law made together. After the ceremony, we held cocktail hour and served food buffet style in the main bar. Later, everyone moved downstairs to Nightshade. Its lounge atmosphere and dance floor were perfect for our 50 to 60 guests. Some people relaxed around the cocktail tables while others danced, so everyone could enjoy the night in their own way. Moonflower's event organizer, Morgan, was wonderful. She made the entire planning process feel easy and was a joy to work with. She helped turn our ideas into reality, assisting with day of logistics, décor, beverage packages, and every question that came up. She was always responsive and available. Morgan also helped us think through details that had not occurred to us, including coffee for our guests, explaining the parking situation, contacting nearby businesses about using their lots, and recommending DJs. We ultimately hired one of the DJs she suggested. Her extra support was incredibly helpful and took a great deal of stress out of planning. If you have not tried Moonflower's drinks, you are missing out. Their regular cocktail menu is fantastic, and our experience was even more special because of a custom cocktail session with Zach. He created signature drink options for each of us based on our tastes and favorite cocktails. Every option was spectacular, and the final drinks felt personal and special. We chose Funeral Potatoes for the food. Since they already handle the food at Moonflower, we were able to try many dishes beforehand. Our guests raved about everything. We especially recommend the brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and caprese sandwiches. Alexis, who heads up Funeral Potatoes, was also extremely helpful with selecting the menu. The only outside food we brought in was our wedding cake. The entire staff was phenomenal. Everyone treated the occasion with the perfect balance of care, professionalism, and fun. The night went off without a hitch and was truly one of the best nights of our lives. Moonflower was also extremely reasonable compared with other venues we considered in the city, especially with an open bar and food available on site. Street parking was plentiful, and none of our guests had trouble finding a spot. For anyone looking for a relaxed wedding for 50 to 60 people with a memorable lounge atmosphere, fantastic staff, buffet style food, and exceptional cocktails, Moonflower should be at the top of your list.
