Had a nice dinner at Hay's Place in mid-March. We had a outside firepit table along the glass and it kept everyone warm enough to enjoy the evening. Food was very good. We shared shrimp appetizer and the grilled corn appetizer. Fajitas were very good as were an assortment of tacos and bowls. When we return to PB, we will visit Hay's Place again. read more

Great addition to the Pebble Beach restaurants. The view and outdoor seating is amazing and the food was solid. We have eaten here twice (once in the outdoor seating and once with takeout). The tin can nachos are definitely a reorder. Note that the serving is huge and could easily be split between 4 people. The tortas were amazing as well. We ordered a salad, a torta and the tres leches cake for take out and I was fairly unimpressed with the salad (some ingredients were missing and it was underdressed) and the tres leches cake was relatively lackluster. Overall though, the dog friendly staff, other food, view and margaritas will bring us back. read more

I do not recommend going here for the food. I feel that we were seriously misled by the other reviews. The food was incredibly poor quality, so much that I would rather skip a meal. The tacos were all dry, beans and rice under-seasoned and fillings were meager. Topo chicos are $6. Service was fine and the view was nice. read more

Overall, I really enjoyed coming here to eat. My daughter and I came here while my husband was playing a round of golf. My daughter is 11 months so quickness of service is big, because she can go from 0-100 real quick (as any baby can!) although our server was super sweet and helpful, it took over 20 minutes to be helped/for us to order. Maybe she was just overloaded with tables so there is that! In terms of the food, I ordered the bowl without cheese and with the crema on the side, and I added chicken. It was DELICIOUS! My daughter can be picky with food so I asked if they had any fruit and they had strawberries so they gave us that as well. She loved her strawberries. When my husband was done with his round of golf we ordered a margarita and that was nice as well. I highly recommend making reservations or you will end up on some couches that are pretty low to the ground. This normally wouldn't bother me but again with a baby it's difficult. If there was a table I could place food on the table for her to get herself but with a high chair I can only hand her things and she wasn't having that lol. But overall, great food and I would definitely visit again to try more food options! read more

Hay's Place - Mexican Near Me - Pebble Beach, California

So disappointed in Pebble Beach. Tried making a reservation but was denied a table for 10. They offered to split us up but would have been on a 30 min time limit?? ( in January during slow season) decided against that. The lady attempting to make the reservation, suggested Roy's instead (a much more pricey restaurant). Was looking forward to celebrating a birthday at the new restaurant but obviously they couldn't be bothered with local customers. Don't be fooled tourists, Pebble's a scam. read more

HANDICAP ACCESS A REAL PROBLEM. Had a great lunch but I took a disabled person and there are no handicap parking spaces near by. I don't know how the PBC gets away with this oversight. This can be easliy fixed by putting in a handicap drop off zone by widening the road where the path starts to go into the restaurant. Still a long walk with a walker for my friend but much easier than from way across the street. Server and food and staff were absolutely wonderful. But this is a huge problem for the handicapped. read more

As mentioned from another Yelper, some previous reviews are way too harsh. The experience I had was beyond expectations and can't wait to return. For a new spot, the menu ( yes Mexican ) had a unique spin in both presintation and taste. The gem salad with skirt steak and a lime tequila dressing was superb. The group got Nachos with chicken. Cheesy and loaded with " stuff " again spectacular. Service was great showing teamwork and attention. Sardi?? Spelling? was our server and was personable and a keeper. With the sun setting, and TVs showing football if you wanted and a lively crowd, patrons complaining about price is comical. Hello, earth to Knuckleheads, it's Pebble Beach, Carmel, 17 mile drive, on a new hot shot 9 hole golf course. Prices with all those extras were MORE then reasonable. So yeah travel to HMB, or outside the gates at another eating location scanning the parking lot in a strip mall. read more

Congratulations to all the Pebble Beach owners and management on opening their newest brainchild "Hay's Place"! Was fortunate to dine for lunch on the third day of opening on a perfect Monterey Peninsula day of sunshine , no wind. In the Lodge's tradition, manager Mathew Mackey and his limited staff well deserve their 5 Star rating. His honesty aboat just opening, would be a bit of a delay , made us join in and root for their success. The meal was delicious but in time they my have to tweak it just a bit. This Mexican themed restaurant is located at the nine hole course called The Hay in the Pebble Beach complex. It has a very contemporary look and is situated right by the first tee. A beautiful setting with a great patio. The patio has several fire pits so you can enjoy the cool air and yet still be comfortable. Our food selections were very good. A somewhat different menu than your traditional Mexican restaurant. My wife had the Berria tacos. The meat was cooked with crispy edges and was very flavorful. I had the Carne Asada torta. The Meat was tender, juicy, and had a little heat to the spice. the avocado aïoli on the sandwich was very tasty. The service was very good. All the servers were attentive to their tables. I decided to give Hay's Place another try and I'm glad I did. Today's experience was a vast improvement. Servers were courteous and helpful, food was excellent (I got the short ribs nachos again, there was less spice to them this time, which was nice) and you can't beat the view. As with most restaurants at Pebble Beach, the view from Hay's Place is awesome. Even though it's farther inland than some of the other places like The Bench, it has a more elevated view of the bay also giving you views of Carmel. My wife and daughter ate here while I attempted to golf at The Hay course and failed miserably. I joined them after my round and tried the fiesta bowl with chicken my wife had ordered which was quite tasty. We also ordered a classic margarita with tajin rim and chocolate cake with horchata ice cream for dessert. Everything was well-executed. The service was friendly too. My wife did mention that it was hard to get service at the beginning after she sat down but since we didn't have a reservation I think she just ended up in an awkward spot. All in all, the quality of the food and the setting would warrant a return trip. I'd like to try some of their other fun dishes like the nachos or the birria tacos. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and are feeling Mexican food. read more
