Food is always delicious, service superb!! This place is almost always packed so make sure to book your date but walk ins are good too. We walked in today and luckily got a table right away.

Gorgeous place with a huge outdoor patio complete with fire pits. Even on a cold winter night, everyone stayed warm enough. About 1/3 of the seats seem to be indoors but outside is so nice. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food, especially those of us who ordered enchiladas. My "seafood trio" of assorted enchiladas in the different sauces was fantastic. All delicious but the lobster was the standout, of course! Pricey but this is PB. Nice place, good service, quality food. You get what you pay for!

Amazing drive to get here, nachos, wait staff, and VIEW! A must when visiting Carmel. Make a reservation so you can get into Pebble Beach. Put and play!

Maybe one of the best golf course restaurants in the world. The atmosphere, the views of Pebble Beach, the friendly wait staff, & the incredible food. Great beers on tap and four large screen TV so you can watch the PGA championship while you eat before or after golf.

This place is so amazing. The tin can nachos are a must order - beware they are huge so don't order too many other things. All of the meat and seafood is perfectly cooked. The service was great, every server is extremely attentive and they know the menu inside out. The views are perfect as well. Highly recommend

First time visiting, great food, beautiful scenery, friendly attentive service. It's located between the first tee and the putting green of The Hay golf course at Pebble Beach. We enjoyed Tin Can Nachos, Roasted Elote, Ceviche de Sol & The Pescado Tacos. There are no umbrellas outside, so if you're looking for shade, request the inside, although there are no doors, it's all open to the outside. Make reservations ahead of time.

Hay's Place food has improved so much since they first opened. Really tasty and true to its goals. The service was great too! Only one suggestion after our latest visit...the ledge next to the outside tables is filthy and most unappetizing.

Delicious food-- we came and the guys played on the green while we ladies ate the amazing queso and waited for our entrees. The view and the food was well worth the wait. Staff were friendly. Some of the outdoor seating maybe could use a bit more shade, but the view was unmatched. Definitely coming back.

This was a perfect lunch spot for our group after a lovely day exploring 17 mile Drive and Pebble Beach! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with incredible views of the greens as well as the ocean! Food came out quickly, especially the tin can nachos and was perfect for sharing! The best item we tried was the Birria tacos along with the nachos! Very accommodating to large groups and had high chairs for a little ones! As well as crayons and kids menus. Parking is easy with lots just across from the restaurant! Next time, we'll plan ahead and get a teatime on a short par three course.

This place is fantastic!! The service is 5 STAR!!! We were greeted by the hostess at the stand and she sat us at a table right away with a beautiful view! Our server was very attentive. We ordered margaritas - strong and tasty. We started with guacamole to share. And then we decided to get some tacos to share as well. As I was eating mine, he noticed the taco was falling apart. He said "that definitely shouldn't happen, so save room for dessert, it's on me." So kind of him. And it was amazing!!! So glad we did save some room, lol! We had a great time visiting Pebble Beach and the extraordinary service made it even better :)

    Tin Can Nachos

Service was great! Would highly recommend the nachos and quesadilla! My reason for dropping a star is because the fiesta bowl is labeled as vegetarian on the menu however we found out from the server it is not in fact vegetarian because the Spanish rice is cooked with chicken oil/broth. Our server was great about letting us know the various allergens on the menu and also accommodating my vegetarian diet. Would definitely eat here again!

Highly recommend making a reservation, they get pretty busy. We really enjoyed the Tin Can Nachos, and had a few cocktails. I had the toasted tini, it was a creamy espresso martini with marshmallows and it was soo good! Food wise, I ordered the Catch of the Day tacos which was Rock Cod and it was pretty tasty. The staff were all nice, just again slightly busy. Overall enjoyed !!

We had a good time dining at Hays place. My advice is to make a reservation, we had one and were seated right away. The view is super pretty and the food was very good. Make sure you keep your 17mi dr entrance receipt so you can be reimbursed by the restaurant staff and your 17mi dr trip is basically free.

Parking is sparse in front of the restaurant but paid parking is nearby. We entered and wow, the place was busy. Not overwhelming but lots of people in the indoor dining area enjoying their food. The menu is overheard and we decided what we wanted and ordered. The employees were kind and helpful, we probably were the only people that didn't speak Spanish well in the restaurant but that wasn't an issue, SCW got the number 2 combo, I got the mole. Also ordered an appetizer. Seated and waited about 10 minutes and our order came out. Everything was freaking amazing. Such great flavors and so fresh. Even SCW who doesn't necessarily gravitate towards Mexican food made nom nom nom sounds the whole time. The mole was incredible, the best I've ever had. The whole time we were here it was an endless stream of customers, even late lunch hour. SCW was impressed by the contrast stream of people coming in. We even walked around the wharf nearby for a while and drove past again and it was still packed with people. Do yourself a favor and visit El Cantato. I know I will.

It took our party (8 people) a while to decide as we were spoiled with choices. But we had time as it was pretty busy for a Friday around 1. I ended up getting the carne asada nachos and the aqua Fresca that they had that day (mango and watermelon I think). Both were absolutely spectacular. The picture included might not show the best scale but I had 2 others helping me to eat this plate and otherwise I would not have been able to finish it (even as a larger man). The crunchy jalapeños with the chips, beans and guacamole were the perfect balance. As a meat eater, the texture of the faux meat was a touch odd, but the flavor more than made up for it. The staff was helpful and attentive even as they were balancing supporting customers, answer phone orders, and taking regular orders. My wife and will definitely be stopping by here more often!!

Send me home hungry and bill me $$$ for 2, at least i get to stay in my PJs. I'm glad I stuck through with the original plan and was blown away by the endless mindfuck of plates that permanently altered my brain chemistry. In all seriousness, the menu itself doesnt seem too special: crabcakes, ceasar salad, creme brulee. Very unassuming and no real twists to it. BUT -- everything was executed to PER-FECT-SHUN and I found myself just shy of licking every. frikkin'. plate clean. No stone left unturned - in this case, not a single kernel of corn or garnish was left uneaten. I'll jump right to the food: - Half dozen raw oysters: honestly might be the more underwhelming dish of the meal only because the oysters didn't have much flavor. No brine. No sweet. The mignonette was so great though! it gave the oysters what it needed. Add a flake of salt and we're cookin'. - Caesar salad: Good all around. The assembly is what made it so over-the-top. The classic caesar but with ribbons of parm, light and fresh anchovies, whole thinly sliced loaf of crouton that held that salad up like a house of cards but crumbles to touch. I was picking up every crumb that tumbled off to the table and was audibly slurping the ribbons of parmesan. - Crabcakes: Not just another crabcake. The batter was crunchy but didn't make the dish heavy. a cooling and smooth avo creme. but OH MY GOD the grilled corn on the plate really made the dish shine! It added a nice sweet pop and smokiness that made the dish more complex. Not even assembled in a cute pile, just scattered little kernels on a plate got me out here picking them up one-by-one like a mere peasant dusting the sidewalk for nickels. yes, humble me chef. I had to apologize to the waitress who cleared my plate for how embarrassingly clean my plate was. - Thai mussels: A cliche of a mussel dish on every modern menu. I've had a lot of versions of this dish and this plate wowed me in that the mussels were simply cooked perfectly. the sauce was not thin, not too pulpy nor salty. The sauce actually penetrated the mussels. The mussels were fresh, and no empty shells, which is a low bar but so common to see these days. There might even be a couple straggling that i was able to fish from the bottom. Just a clean dish overall. The fries were the perfect accompaniment. The walls of the extra starchy and crispy fries grabbed alot of the sauce for dipping. So smart. - Beef cheeks: Perfect textures all around. It feels wrong to complain at this point but I wanted more unctuousness from the protein. The beef was actually a backdrop to the polenta and mushrooms. i wanted more fat, more melty gelatinous tendon bites. what it produced though was a perfect fancy gravy for the polenta - so creamy and perfectly seasoned. A leafy green here and there. The maitaki mushrooms were cooked perfectly, not greasy. I was really just scraping the plate for the polenta and grabbing a bite of beef cheeks as sauce. Not a bad way to live by any means. - Acai sorbet: I almost never order dessert at a restaurant. It tends to disspoint and overpriced but i have never trusted a chef so much with a full meal so of course i got TWO desserts. The acai was accompanied with raspberries and granola. Super fresh and light. The acai broke apart upon touch, didnt slide around eventhough it's on a plate, but the plate choice was nicely textured to grip the icy sorbet (WHY AM I THINKING ABOUT THEIR PLATE CHOICE??) Gronola was not clunky and added a (rice) crispiness rarely found in granola. Such great care and attention to detail. - Orange and Tarragon Creme Brulee: I looked at the creme brulee with distain. Why did we order a 2nd dessert when the acai sorbet was already perfect. Orange and tarragon sounds like they're trying to sound "complex" but rarely delivers on balance and impact. I cracked the torched sugar top and gave it a chance, knowing that i havent been dissapointed tonight yet... and CUE the hallelujah angels choirs. I looked my partner in the eye and audibly said "YUMMMM... TRY. THIS. NAOOO.". We switched from the acai to the creme brulee and never stopped until the sides were hallowed out and every crystal of torched sugar was scraped off the walls. The torched sugar top cracked with ease and stayed CRISPYYYY the whole time. The custard was smooth, thick but light, and packed with orange flavor that was fiercely tempered by the herbaceous tarragon. The one sliver of orange peel candy was not supposed to wow me with it's texture and left me wondering how they managed to get the cracker-like crackle without too much sugar and not leave it leathery?? What a way to end a meal. On my way home, I got a twinge of the orange peel left in my teeth and it instantly brought me back to the magic that was the Mission Bistro. and it was HOT.

I wanted something to drink that wasn't sweet, so I tried their raspberry ice tea. They used a sugary syrup to flavor the tea, and that was a strike out. It was sweeter than a soda, so it went back and I swapped it out for a plain unsweetened ice tea. Then we tried the cheesy garlic bread, which we were really looking forward to. Welp, it came out with mozzarella cheese and a ton of corn. No butter. No garlic. We all looked at each other when we tried it. Ok, let's try their brussel sprouts. Those are hard to mess up - but sure enough, they managed to. They deep fried them to the point they were black and charred. There wasn't anything left of the brussel sprout itself, it was mostly crunchy charcoal. At this point, we all ordered something we assumed would be safe for our main. I got the sliders and a side salad. I had the salad but only of the sliders. The cheese on it was queso, like you use to dip chips, so it was ran all over the place and the burger was a grease ball. I won't even get into what everyone else had, but they had similar experiences. Overall, it was pretty disappointing. Maybe there are other things or other times where this place is better, but it was a swing and a miss for us.
