Service was incredible. We were checked in on a timely manner- our waiter was so lively and fun! I ordered the steak (medium rare) and frites. We did wait for about 35-40 minutes. This was the weekend so it was expected. When I finally received it, I noticed that the steak was well cooked. We were in a rush for other plans so I didn't fix the order.

A solid choice to eat at with sooo many options. I'd come here with family and friends if you all might want different things (think The Cheesecake Factory but less intimidating). I got the Cobb Salad, which was a huge portion and well worth the price. It was good, but nothing super special. Parking is free in the shopping center, and service is quick and friendly!

Loved the ambiance of this place!! It was actually pretty crowded for a random Monday at 1:30p. After a long hike at Point Lobos the food hit the spot! Service was excellent for food and drinks! Will return when in the area!!

Stopped by for lunch after landing in Monterey. Ambiance is really cute with a cool little patio to dine in. The menu had a lot of selections that seemed appetizing but I settled on the steak sandwich. Food was pretty good. I had the Moroccan gnt which was pretty good although having cracked black pepper in the drink made it a bit difficult to drink. Service was good, as much as I would expect from a casual lunch spot.

Took my mom here for her birthday but the experience was so so. We got sat at a booth by the back of the restaurant right next to the kitchen. The staff was loud and back and forth. There was also a few staff members hanging out and eating a couple tables down from us. The food I hoped would've been better for the price but it was basic. The Fish & Chips wasn't anything spectacular, the steak was a bit tough and the Shrimp Scampi Pasta has some tiny shrimps that were soft and mushy. The best dish we had was the Calamari appetizer. This whole experience I give a 5/10. This would not be a top option for Monterey dining for me.

First time here and the food was amazing! I had the nachos and a side salad. We also ordered pasta, half chicken, and salmon dishes. We all loved all of our food! It was more than enough food! The service was excellent--especially our waiter. I wish I caught his name for this review. But everyone attended us well. The restaurant itself is nice! I would definitely recommend this place!

Steak Bites...OMG...Steak, bacon, blue cheese. What else do you want in life?

Does shopping make you hungry? It does for us. While doing our holiday shopping at Monterey's Del Monte Center mall, my friend and I popped into Lalla Grill to fuel up with some delicious eats. It's a really cool lunch spot with a great atmosphere. We opted for a table inside. Our indoor table overlooked the patio, which had plenty of tables, a fire pit, and some beautiful green plants. The menu here has enough options to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Pastas, salads, burgers, soups, seafood, steaks, sandwiches, and a good assortment of starters. Perusing the starters, we decided to go with an assortment of small bites. We ordered the Spicy Thai Wings - A large portion of Thai spice-marinated chicken wings with an orange glaze. Wow! So delicious. These are addictive. The spiciness was perfect - a good amount of heat without having to call the fire department. We also ordered the Ahi Poke Ceviche, which, although good, could use some improvement. I wouldn't call it Ceviche - it was more like a guacamole with some Ahi Tuna and lettuce mixed in. It was served with wonton chips, which fell apart the minute we dipped them into the pile of avocado & fish. Overall, the flavor of the dish was tasty, but serving the dish with the delicate wonton chips failed in its intended execution. We ended up sprinkling the wonton pieces over the Poke. Still delicious, though. And finally, are you sitting down?....Blue Cheese Steak Bites! Yep, you read that right. OMG, these are to die for. Little pieces of steak stuffed with blue cheese, wrapped in bacon, and drizzled with honey mustard. Heaven on a plate! OK - that's the food. Service was great. Atmosphere was chill. The cocktails were inspired. We were there mid-week, and parking at this mall was easy. If you're at Del Monte Center in Monterey, I highly recommend Lalla Grill. They have another location downtown, too, if you're out and about on Cannery Row.

This place is huge, they play very lively music and is decorated in a modern and hip place. It was very busy, but we're still able to get a table within the estimated 15min window of time. Unfortunately, the food is as underwhelming. I was very put off by the giant plates that came to the table. I was served a pile of salad that was no better than what you'd get at an apple bees. The best part of my visit was the Moroccan G&T I had. I enjoyed the mint in it, but I was very annoyed y the peppercorns in it as a garnish. A few times I ended up chewing on them or swallowing them -Find a better garnish! The servers were friendly, but when I go out to eat I go for the food and based on my experience I wouldn't come back for that.

Yikes. 5 minute wait turned into over 30 and they refused to let us sit at a table because of a kitchen back up, despite more than half of the restaurant being empty.

We had a nice meal with our kids and the service was excellent. Our waiter did an amazing job and was very happy and seemed to enjoy his job. Service goes along way. The food was good and prices fair. It was a casual setting with indoor and outdoor dining. Bar with football games on the tv. We enjoyed our time and glad we stopped by.

The food was delicious . The server, Fauntisto , was absolutely incredible, who made the ambiance and vibe that was already super, even better. There were 6 adults and 4 kids and he made sure we were all taken care of to the max. Never had such a pleasant experience there and everyone was in awe of the meal tonight! Keep it up Lalla Grille!

We came here on our day trip to Monterey, and it was a good experience! Really lovely seating area outside with beautiful greenery and lots of space. Service was a little slower but it was a Saturday at lunchtime and the staff were very nice. We ordered a pomegranate limeade, pasta al limone, black bean burger, and birria burger. The drink was yummy and refreshing! The pasta was a bit overly cheesy but I really liked the lemon flavor. The black bean and birria burgers were both delicious, very well made! Portions were good sizing, we were full and had some leftovers too. I would recommend this place if you are in the area!

I wanted to update this review since it had been a few years. I like going to this restaurant which is attached to the Del Monte mall. They have a very nice heated outdoor patio that is dog-friendly. This time I tried the California club sandwich and it was really good and I like how you could get it with a side salad instead of fries. The sandwich itself was on sourdough bread and it was a really delicious combination. The only thing that we did notice is they no longer offer fresh-made potato chips when you sit down which is disappointing. Bring back the potato chips!

From the food to the drinks to the overall chic and comfortable ambiance, it was an absolute treat! The service was impeccable for our party of 8. We had various tequila drinks and the chips, salsa, hot sauces (some quite hot!) made for an exceptional start. I ordered the salmon, which was sitting on a bed of cauliflower mashed potatoes and draped with an arugula salad, topped with a mache chili oil drizzle. The taste was as perfect as the presentation! The best salmon I've ever had, indeed. One of the guest had birria tacos served with a split bone marrow! Never saw that combination before! He let me try some and it was delicious! If you're an Amex Platinum cardholder looking to burn Resy credits in Monterey, this Mexican restaurant is worth a try -- but manage your expectations. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which was a plus. Started with chips and guac and a couple of drinks, then ordered the chicken enchiladas and the skirt steak and arugula salad, adding shrimp to the salad. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fine, the service was fine -- nothing memorable, nothing bad. The real issue is price. Adding shrimp to a salad cost about $15, and our total with tip came out to around $140 for two people. For that price point in Monterey, I expected more from the food and overall experience. Would I come back? Probably not at full price. But if you have the Amex Platinum and quarterly Resy dining credits to use, it softens the blow enough to make it worth trying once.

Crispy potatoes: Love the carbs! The potatoes were crispy and delicious. The lemon truffle crema sauce was so yummy! Oysters: Definitely order half shell oysters! They were delicious! Hamachi: This was okay, nothing special to be honest sinc Mussels: This one was also delicious as well. It was made with white wine and tomato broth with butter, shallot, garlic. Beets salad: You can't go wrong with ordering a beet salad! The honey vinaigrette was delicious! Santa Cruz King Salmon: This dish was simple but tasty. The Meyer lemon sauce went well with the salmon. 12oz Pork chop: The meat was soft and easy to bite into. The cauliflower puree was delicious! Snake River American Wagyu: I thought the steak was okay. It was a bit too rare for me personally but my husband liked it! Brussels sprouts: Yummmm! Love the crispy Brussels sprouts. Overall service was great and the food was good. The only downside of the night was not getting the duck liver mousse toast. Not sure why the order went through when we mentioned in the beginning but hope to try it next time we're in town.

The vibes are here but it all stops there…read more.. Let me start by saying that I love this place. Just needs a bit of cleaning up on their transparency. The 'keep it open' policy is something I appreciate but would also appreciate an itemized receipt when you close out. Here's why to keep your eye out when drinking at this establishment. 1- when you close out, it's helpful to verify what you consumed to ensure you're corrected charged. My receipt was the merchant copy and the customer copy. Itemized? Really had to ask for it. 2- the merchant copy - it asked for a tip and the total amount. When we closed out our beer and well drink, it was ~$28. Weird, right? So my thought was that they clearly charged something incorrect. 3- when there's something automatically charged, it had better be communicated to me upfront. The gratuity was automatically added and IT WAS 20%! No sign, no way to notify me that it was already added. It didn't even say so on the merchant or customer copy. On top of that, the copy asked for AN ADDITIONAL TIP. For something like that, I had better get great service. 4- The service here is spotty at best. There's usually one bartender for the often busy bar. Not a problem, usually. But with that high of a price, better serve your customers well and have a fully stocked bar. 5 - the options were lacking. Two things you'd think would be stocked but weren't - espresso (come on, even Kahlua) and apple liqueur for an espresso martini and appletini were too much to ask for, I guess. Overall, a disappointment. Good thing they have the vibes nearly right. But awful business practices.

Unfortunately, the experience took an awkward turn at seating. We had requested a view and were about to be accommodated when another staff member (auburn hair) interrupted abruptly and loudly, insisting we not be seated up front due to other reservations. It was uncomfortable and felt unprofessional--especially in front of guests. As it turned out, she was our server. Throughout the evening, her demeanor didn't improve and felt out of step with the otherwise welcoming environment. Having spent over 25 years in the industry and as a restaurant owner, I know how important frontline staff are to the guest experience, and this simply didn't reflect the level this place is capable of. That said, this feels like the exception--not the norm. I've had pleasant experiences here before and will return, hopeful that this was just an off moment.

Other than parking challenges on a busy night in the downtown, we were lucky to get a table for 5 relatively quickly, as this place isn't that large, with some additional bar seating, and it seems very popular. 5:30 was a great time, as we watched the waiting line grow longer after we were seated. Our server, Michael J., did a great job of greeting us, providing menus, and taking initial drink orders while we decided what to try. We decided to try BBQ honey wings, fried artichoke hearts, and onion rings for appetizers. The main courses were two orders of kids' cheese pizza and tater tots, a small dinner salad, a cup of New England-style clam chowder, and a NY Steak sandwich. The food came in a reasonable time, with appetizers and salad first, then the rest. The apps were good, but the onion rings were a bit greasy. The honey wings were well-liked, as well as the artichoke hearts, which, strangely, were not oily like the onion rings. Yummy! The cheese pizzas paired with tater tots were certainly different, but the pizza was more like a reheated frozen pizza. The tots were okay. The NY Steak sandwich was good as well, with a side of steak fries - obviously! Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would definitely consider dining here in the future when in town.
