WOW! You Do NOT find service like this anywhere anymore. Been a rough week for my wife so I wanted to send her some roses. My first mistake, my fat fingers put in a past date instead of today. I called a couple hours later when I had a feeling I messed up. They said no problem, it will go today and we will text you when delivered. I had opted for "Do not leave, make sure they are hand delivered" Unfortunately for me, the person home was very sick and could not get to the door. Hayward Flowers called me to let me know, driver still there and gave me the option to leave them....which I did. They were not obligated to do this! They could have gone back to the flower shop, text me nobody was home, and charged me another delivery fee for a new time. Wife came home 15min later and LOVED what she saw. I needed to order some flowers for a same day service. I contacted Hayward Flowers 4 hours prior to a funeral viewing and they fulfilled my last minute request... perfectly. I searched their website to find a funeral spray for a loved one, and called them to place the order. They let me know beforehand that the lilies they had on hand weren't in bloom just yet, but they would do their best to substitute with hydrangeas. Overall, I think the arrangement was beautiful and even more lush compared to the photo on their website. The lady who assisted me was patient, informative and friendly. Well good old Covid exposure meant that I was not able to see my mother on her 76th birthday and had not seen her for Christmas. She was feeling particularly alone and bummed and I had no advanced notice. I called Hayward Flowers this morning and asked if they could possibly deliver same day. Despite a ton of pre-orders, he said they could. The only guidance I gave was that her favorite color is purple. My mom just called me super excited. Our friend's mother died at 104 after falling and breaking her hip. She had lived a wonderful life, had been a WASP during WW II, flying planes, though not in combat. She has lived w/ our friends, who are part of our couples' book group, in Hayward for about the past 15 years. She had become a de facto member of the group and we were all very fond of her. Barbara, her daughter and our friend, kept us apprised by email of the developments after her hospitalization and surgery and after Bobby died on Friday we were all very sad. I drank a glass of sherry in her memory that evening. She would have liked it. Alan and I agreed we wanted to send flowers and I looked up florists on Yelp, settling on Hayward Flowers because of the reviews. I called and spoke w/ the very nice man. I described Bobby and he knew immediately that she would be someone for whom to make a brightly colored arrangement, rather than a pastel one. I left up to him the colors and types of flowers and arranged for the bouquet to be delivered today. I received an email from Barbara this afternoon that it was beautiful and smelled wonderful. So I've bought flowers from Hayward Flowers for multiple occasions. It's a small mom and pops business that has the best customer service. I've bought flowers for things like wanting to show my wife her appreciation, our anniversary, and the recent one was for my grandmas funeral. I called on Monday before their closing time and I can't remember who I spoke to but he was helpful in every single way. I ordered an orchid lei to wear and put on my grandmothers casket before she was buried because she's Hawaiian. We just picked it up and it's more than what I expected. I saw a picture of the one they have in their photos on Yelp, but this one is far more beautiful. It cost me $70 and honestly, I would've paid $100 because the craftsmanship and attention to detail is phenomenal. I don't know how hard or easy these are to make but I love it and I'm sure my grandmother will be smiling down appreciating it. I looked up Hayward Flowers who was down Mission, and they've just been a wonderful, consistent business. They always have beautiful red and white roses, and the variety of single-stemmed flowers always changes every day, and I simply choose which ones look good together in a bouquet - with the help of the woman up front who arranges them!! She's welcoming, patient, and knows what looks good with what! Her expertise is always ALWAYS encouraged, and I appreciate her very much!! Of course, the bouquets come out so pleasing to the eyes, and the wrapping and ribbon are impeccable! Price and description does not match the actual product. Given the situation of covid and store mentioned they hsve limited delivery, they should have reduced the price. Safeway, wholefoods and other places has tons of flowers its not supply and demand case its just a matter of them not ordering by volume. I don't mind paying for flowers but it has to match the product quality. I will post a before and after photo. We had to buy from safeway 4 bouquet of roses to fix it after picking up from the shop. Both Fred and Johanna were very helpful! For the ladies who want a corsage PLEASE bring a swatch of your color. Pictures don't successfully help them match it correctly. I talked to Fred on the phone and he went above and beyond to give his opinion on what type of color I should get to put on my corsage(my dress was a difficult color so I didn't think they could color match it and opted to have a color that would go well with my dress). He even sent me photos of colors he thought would look good with my dress and called me back to discuss it as well. I went to the actual store and Johanna had pictures ready to pick what type of corsage you can possibly get(roses or different flowers). And you can get glitter on your flowers!! We didn't have a swatch but we eventually gave it to her and my color was super difficult to work with in general but when I got it, IT WAS SO ON POINT! Their website has hella photos of corsages and they have a lot of services. Definitely worth the price. In all it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend anyone with floral needs to come here. The corsage was beautiful and I can whole heartedly say made my prom experience way more memorable(I think I had the best one out of all the ones I saw at prom). I truly wish I went to another prom just so I can order another one or knew about this place my junior year so I could of gotten it here as well. read more

If I could I would give this place no stars for their terrible customer service! I was picking up flowers for my sister's bday. I came and the door was locked @ 3:30... odd for a place that says they're open until 5:30. I rang the doorbell and knocked on the door and there was no response. I saw a gentleman and knocked and he was walking to open the door until someone stopped him. I continued to knock because I didn't understand how I was suppose to get my flowers if the door is locked. Then a worker walks up to the door and taped a paper on the door and walks away.... the sign said be back in 20 minutes. I do not understand why they couldn't have just opened the door and told me. 20 minutes later the doors were finally unlocked. It took me another 30 minutes to get my flowers, it was so suppose to be ready @4... I got them at 4:30. I asked the manager why he didn't just open the door and tell me to wait rather than tape a paper on the door when I'm standing right out there. He continued to say he didn't want me to wait... in the end I waited longer but wasn't given proper customer service. He did not apologize but just asked me "so you good now?" No.. he didn't fix anything. Terrible customer service. I will not be coming back. read more

I don't know if it's a good thing that this place is convenient to my grandfather, but they do make a decent small bouquet for a good price. Their store is simple, not flashy, and they have a little space out front to run in and grab something for a loved one. They have very nice people who work there, who make you feel like your purchase isn't for someone who passed, but someone who you think will love their flowers. My parents frequent this place and so does my grandmother, so that being said, there's something to be said for three generations of people buying from this florist. Best flower shop ever! Since my grandma passed away 2 years ago this shop has been our go to, not only is it conveniently across from the cemetery but the customer service is AMAZING! Whether the father or the daughter are the ones attending us they both do a fantastic job! For my grandmas funeral we purchased 2 wreaths, a casket spray, and a heart to put inside the casket; for the past 2 years every weekend my mom purchases flowers for my grandma from here and ONLY here. She makes our visions come to life! Whether it's the perfect color, perfect arrangement, the glitter tip on the roses, or simply creating EXACTLY what we want by a quick and simple call she does it all and SO AMAZINGLY!
