What a great first meal. Staff seated us quickly, promptly greeted and water in hand in less than 5 min. Wonderful first impression. Ordered an assortment of options. But truly adored and will be back for the hash and orange/cinnamon pancakes. So wonderful and unforgettable. Thanks to our server and the entire staff. We will be returning.

I really wanted to love Haywire but it was unfortunately a disappointing experience. I was visiting SATX and saw the Cowgirl Dinner advertised heavily on social media, so I was eager to try it and the $30 price made it even more intriguing. Unfortunately it fell flat of expectations and the photos and our very sweet server and hostesses were the only redeeming parts. Starting with the ambience, upon arriving to our reservation for 8:30, we ended up waiting another 30 minutes until we were seated after many other parties. I understand that things can get busy with walk-ins but it was a bit frustrating to stand waiting until the limited lobby seating opened up for us to then wait another 20 minutes for a table we reserved to finally open up. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and the chandeliers and beautiful booth seating plus the partially-open kitchen setup is nice to look at however, and I can see why this spot is appealing as a girls night out dinner spot. The hostesses were very sweet and our server was kind as well, which made the experience better. However, the Cowgirl Dinner was disappointing and I would have preferred to pay double for a decent meal. The steak was very dry and bland, and I don't know that it was seasoned at all. The salad was also somehow dry and felt stale, and the fries were fine but nothing extraordinary. We also got a mac & cheese on the side to split which was also oddly bland and watery. I desperately wanted to enjoy this meal but it really just fell flat. I would recommend Texas Roadhouse before I would probably go here again unfortunately, and it may just be the Cowgirl Dinner specifically which is not the best, since I have not been here before. Although it photographed beautifully, it unfortunately was not as great as the videos made it seem.

OH Cowgirl Dinner, you were so devine! You CANNOT beat their amazing March deal which scores you a 5 oz steak with roasted garlic butter, tallow fries, side classic caesar salad and a dirty martini or lemon drop martini! Just WOW! All that for $30! Everything that was there was delicious and their caesar salad was something else! Much different flavor combinations than other places that I've had elsewhere! Came for "dinner" during lunch hour and it was just so perfect as it wasn't super busy that we basically had a giant table just for ourselves! Including my wild toddler who decided to not eat except for fries, ha! Our server was amazing and was on par with making sure we had everything we needed! Also, they had kids menu with crayons and a coloring sheet with menu included. The aesthetic of this place over all was giving country modern, it very much a vibe!! Restaurant itself was very kid friendly, thankfully! Parking: usual mall parking but since going on a weekday, it was definitely easier than weekend parking. Would love to come back and try more offerings!!

Went for a mom's night out and was two of our first time there. The ambiance is beautiful. I wish I would have taken more pictures of the inside. But it was so busy and we got sat down so fast. We got seated upstairs which was also so nice and private. We got the shrimp and pork belly bites as an appetizer. I also got the western burger that was delicious, one friend got the meatloaf and as soon as she bit into it her eyes rolled back so I knew it was good and our other friend got the chicken friend steak with Brussels sprouts and mash potatoes, the Brussels sprouts were fabulous!! Service was great fast. Will def be going back and def recommend trying this place out.

My wife and I went on a date here and got steaks. I will say the steak was perfectly cooked as I wanted it, and had a great sear on the outside and medium on the inside. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of a few issues. The first issue is that my wife and I had a reservation and still had to wait close to 30 minutes to be seated. I'd understand maybe 10 minutes or less, but a 30 minute wait with a reservation felt too long. The other reason I did not give it a 5 star is because of the fries. They were sitting ready to be taken to the customers in the kitchen, and we got some that tasted like they were sitting for too long and were stale and not that great since they were not fresh. The third issue was that we bought a bottle of wine, a bubbly one, and it was hot, so the first pour was not that great. But once it was in the ice, it tasted much better. Overall, this place is great, awesome on the inside, it just had a few issues that made the experience less than spectacular.

I made reservations at Haywire for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I was looking for somewhere new to try and after a little searching I landed on Haywire--and I'm so glad I did. First off, this place is a total showstopper. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere just grabs you. It feels upscale and polished but still has that warm Texas charm. The design, the vibe, everything about it makes it feel like a special place. We had an amazing experience, and the sweet young lady who took care of us all night was fantastic. Every recommendation she gave us was spot on. We started with drinks and their meat and cheese board. My husband ordered the Haywire Old Fashioned (Texas pour) and said it was one of the best he's had in a long time--he ended up ordering three, so that should tell you everything you need to know. I don't drink alcohol, so I was excited to see they had mocktails on the menu--and not just as an afterthought. I ordered the Mojito Refresher and wow... it was incredibly refreshing and easily one of the most enjoyable mocktails I've had anywhere. For dinner my husband ordered the Cowboy Ribeye with shrimp and tallow fries. It came out perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and looked absolutely mouthwatering. I ordered the redfish and I'm so glad I did. It was light, fresh, and beautifully prepared--honestly the kind of dish you keep thinking about after the meal is over. I really wish we had a place as nice and upscale as Haywire on the northeast side of San Antonio, but this spot was absolutely worth dealing with the traffic. If you plan to go, definitely make reservations. We went on a Tuesday and by 6 PM the place was filling up fast with people waiting out the door. This is exactly what a Texas restaurant should look and feel like. We will definitely be back.

One of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio! We went during happy hour and it was perfect. The frozen margarita was delicious and honestly made me tipsy with just one! I also got the farmhouse bowl and that was yummy. Overall, great service and always happy to spend some time here.

We came here to celebrate our daughter's birthday, my first time here. W we made reservations as we had 11 in our group. I was very impressed with the restaurant and our server. We ordered the Queso Blanco as starter which we all throughly enjoyed. I ordered a Midnight in Marfa Margarita to drink which was very smooth and refreshing. My wife ordered the Struped Bass which she really enjoyed and I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak which was excellent. For dessert my wife and I split the Whiskey Bread Pudding which was warm and magnificent. Some would say they have a limited menu, but they are very good at what is on the menu. Everyone was very happy and 1 grandson said they made the best hamburger.

Update: I came back the next day to meet another niece of mine and this time I ordered the fish tacos and they did disappoint (cry emoji here). There was something missing.... I asked for lemon to see if it helped but no that didn't satisfy my taste buds. I think I'll stick to the steak and the Chicken BLT sandwich Haywire never disappoints--I love this place! My niece was in town, my boys were starving ( like always) and I was ready for some really good food--not fast food, but something worth slowing down and enjoying. Haywire was the perfect excuse and If you read my other reviews I'm not a big fan of long waits so we came at the perfect time; LUNCH TIME! Thankfully it wasn't busy, so we were seated right away. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was really good. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the bacon had that perfect crisp, and I loved the fresh arugula--it all came together so well, especially with the fries on the side. I only finished half, but honestly, I was excited to have the rest later for dinner My niece went with the meatloaf, and the boys had cheeseburgers--everyone loved their meals. It was one of those simple, satisfying outings where everyone leaves full and happy. Haywire, I can't wait to come back again and try something new.

Went here on the weekend. It was my first time. There were lots of parking spaces out front. I didn't have to wait long for a very spacious seat inside. Service was good, and the food was delicious. I didn't get any drinks, but I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day. I did make a reservation online, but it wasn't busy when I arrived both times. It did pick up after. On the first visit, I was closer to the kitchen and the wine stand. On the second, I was closer to the Xmas tree in the middle with the booth-like seats, which were very comfortable, by the way. The burger was good, and so was the salad, so fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed everything

This was an amazing and very laid back, restful lunch with friends. The place is in the La Cantera mall. So, that is not what I knew, so, fair warning. We went there the 2 weeks before Christmas, so parking was a bear, but only because we didnt want to pay for valet. The wine list was extensive. I got a lovely glass of Moscato and hubby got a glass of Riesling. Quite tasty and great with our food! The cocktails, quite generous and tasty. The food came at a great pace! Andres was a fabulous server. He kept up with the pace of our table and everything came on a great time. The crab dip app and onion rings were so tasty. The half rack of ribs with Mac and cheese was fabulous! The catfish was great flaky and tasty. The wedge salad was also very tasty we added steak with an upcharge. The reddish was tasty and subbed the mashed with asparagus. Dessert was yummy and we took the left overs home! I cant wait to come back!

Went here for a date night on Saturday, arrived around 5pm and only had to wait about 10-15 minutes. The decor is amazing, there is always something new to look at. I love the candlelit tables. The food was amazing! I got the redfish (not pictured) sooo tender, well seasoned, and the shrimp & lump crab on top were so perfect. The asparagus with the lemon butter sauce was delicious. My fiance also loved his chicken fried steak. Our only complaint was the veggies needed a tad more salt, but that's no big deal. The pineapple mojito mocktail was very refreshing. Our server, Tatiana, was great and made wonderful recommendations. She's the reason I got the redfish! We will definitely be back.

My friends and I had such a great time here!! The vibes were awesome the waiter was fun and attentive and the food was so delicious! We were attracted by the cowgirl dinner but we will definitely be coming back another time as well! The fries were so so delicious and their chipotle ranch is SO good. Such a cute place inside and overall a great time.

Portions are huge too, and for the quality you'd expect to pay way more than you do. But the real reason I'm writing this is our server, Ryan (the guy with the cool hair). He was fantastic. Genuinely warm, super attentive, and kept checking in and apologizing for any wait even though the place was slammed for brunch. Found out he's fairly new and you honestly couldn't tell. He made the whole experience. Management, take note. This guy's a keeper. We'll be back!

Our dishes were well prepared with generous amounts of seasoning and good flavours. All elements paired well with each other. You can order here alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. We walked in about 15 minutes before our actual reservation so we hung out at the bar and had a drink. Before we were done with our drinks, the hostess came over to us to let us know our table was ready. I did not know that this was an open kitchen concept but I was thrilled when I seen it. We were seated by the kitchen. I thought it was bd a bit noisy but the kitchen staff was quiet which allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation. The waitress was very nice and observant. She did not interrupt our conversations, she waited until we sat plates aside as we were done to avoid reaching over us, and she even took pictures for us. She also offered us glasses of prosecco to celebrate with. We ordered the roasted carrots and pork belly for appetizers and the short beef ribs and steak for entrees. The food was so good! I mean, the steak melted in your mouth! I thought the steak at Bohanan's was great but I think Signature got the best of them. The service and food were flawless and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I'll be back for my birthday and other celebrations/events.

One guest was served butter and a pho amuse bouche at the same time so she took a good spoonful of her butter, dipped it into her pho, and ate it because nobody told her what she had just been served. I can't imagine what she was thinking. Started with some fresh bread and a generous medallion of a butter and onion ash roll. Nice touch. The pho came to me cold but I found out it was intended to be hot. I guess if it's not served immediately it gets cold really fast because it's just a sip or two. It was very clean and OK flavor but I prefer the deep, umami richness of a fatty pho broth. Continuing with the amuse bouche, I was served a platter of three pieces--a scotch egg, cornbread truffle and fries, and something unmemorable. The scotch egg and cornbread were OK but at this point I was starting to wonder if I was wasting my time and money. Then I tried the tuna and that was a flavor bomb. Cubed tuna over a creamy coconut sauce with a hint of heat, balanced with fresh citrus and purple potato crisps for some added texture and a tasty salt finish. This was visually stunning and just singing in my mouth. I absolutely loved it! Scallop and caviar topped with smoked king salmon, and crispy leeks. This was rich and decadent and I appreciated the crispy leeks to balance the otherwise soft textures. Wished the lime was a little more pronounced to help brighten and lift some of the richness, but still a very good dish. Charred romanesco broccoli with a romesco sauce and green salsa was served with pickled raisins and a heaping serving of shredded manchego cheese. This was good but not something I'd want to reorder. Raspberry bergamot lemon sorbet was just the refreshing bite needed before the heavy hitters. The Texas Wagyu coulotte was cooked to perfection. It was simple, served with mushrooms, and didn't need a lot of fuss. For desert, I was served a persimmon chocolate mousse with orange, a rolled persimmon slice, and dollops of what tasted like yuzu. As full as I was I was able to finish this all. It was creamy, rich, and balanced with citrus notes. And finally, the service ended with a mixed plate of petit fours which held up well the next day and were all very good -- a brownie, dulce de leche, macaron, chocolate chip cookie, and some sort of citrus gel. In all, I think the tasting menu was worth the price. I think chef did a great job balancing flavors and textures, plating beautifully, and staying true to ingredients while having fun experimenting. If my pho wasn't served cold, I didn't see some poor service, and the extra amuse bouche trio wasn't served I probably would've given this 5 stars. Maybe next time.

We went to Whiskey Cake for Father's Day Brunch. I'm glad we were able to snag a last minute…read morereservation cuz it was jam packed! When we checked-in, there was a 2hr wait! Located in La Cantera and adjacent to Perry's, it's a large location but parking can be a bit tricky at times. It's loud, so don't come here if you're looking for quiet and intimate. More or less a hang out, kick it with friends kinda vibe. By the door, they have chewy caramels that you can nosh on while waiting for your table or to grab on your way out. Maybe we did both? lol they even sell some small apothecary type stuff as well. Ok let's get to the food! We got the crab cake and the colossal cinnamon roll to start. The kids loved the colossal cinnamon roll. Perfectly balanced with a toffee sauce and spiced pecans. Husband wanted savory so he got the crab cake. It's not Maryland style but it uses gulf crab and a mustardy-seed mix. He and the eldest really enjoyed it! Me, I liked the pickled onions and frisée. I got the steak & eggs hash with a sunny side up egg and medium steak. The steak was just right and had a good flavor. The shishito peppers could've used a touch of salt but they were a good contrast to the crispy fried potatoes, which were large chunks by the way. If only I could have a whole saucier of the avocado hollandaise . It was delicious on the potatoes and the steak! The shrimp and grits were definitely diff from the version we had last year but we liked it! Very vibrant and fresher tasting! The eldest had chicken and waffle. Comes with 2 tenders, 2 eggs your way (she chose sunny side), 1 waffle, syrup and creamy sausage gravy. I normally don't care for sausage gravy but this was NTS! The youngest had the kids Macaroni and cheese, which comes with your choice of 1 side (we chose green beans). We were pleasantly surprised to see it also came with carrots, which she happily ate. Like and crunchy green beans with a creamy and cheesy Mac! Servers don't hover and there's plenty walking around if you need to grab someone's attention for something. I'm gonna miss this establishment when we move back to the east coast

It wasn't as busy when we arrived, so we sat at the bar. The bartender/server was phenomenal, very welcoming, and nice. So, I didn't get much to eat. I just wanted to relax, but I got the jerk chicken with hot sauce and a Texas cheesesteak. We arrived kind of early for lunch, I think it was around 11:30a on a random weekday. The parking lot was kind of full but I found a space. Make sure to inquire about getting parking validation, as my license plate was recognized by the parking service company even though I didn't get any kind of paper ticket. The menu was clubhouse fare, nothing too fancy, which was fine. We shared a Caesar salad, which they split for us into two bowls. The bowls were high sided like soup bowls. Not ideal but it was fine. I really liked the cornbread croutons, and I'm usually not a crouton eater. For my meal I got a cheeseburger with upgraded sweet potato waffle fries. I think my daughter got a grilled chicken burger, I can't recall. Service was great as we were the only people in the restaurant for a while. Or crazy about the country music pumped right at us, but I guess they think that's the kind of music that should be played for the setting? Overall a decent experience and I'll be back for my next quarterly Surpass credit.
