Full disclosure, we haven't actually tried the food yet! But after stopping in for drinks, we absolutely plan to come back for a full meal. We chose The Sicilian Butcher to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary and it proved to be a wonderful experience. The vibe is relaxed and the dining room is trendy. Well decorated, comfortable, and great service. It's the kind of place that could range from casual to dressing up and still feel at ease. The Calamari was tasty and was a good way to get the taste buds fired up. After sharing a salad, I went with the Lasagna. It was a 10 layer recipe and was absolutely delicious. The layers were so thin and light it allowed the flavors of the sauce to shine. Definitely my favorite dish of the night and possibly the most enjoyable lasagna I've ever had. Pasta is always a hard choice for me to make, but the reward to carb ratio was worth it tonight. Wifey went with the Amalfi Gold plate. Eggplant noodles with shrimp and squid. Another winner selection. No celebration is ever complete without dessert. The Cannoli pastry was flaky and the filling was sweet. Where do you even start on perfection? To begin with we have the heirloom burrata salad and I truly have never tasted anything more fresh and perfect for a hot Texas day. We had the chicken and the pasta with the fried zucchini. Both were absolutely exceptional. The star of my day was the Sicillano drink. Smoked with white oak. Don't let that scare you if you don't like smoked drinks. I don't typically either however this was spectacular. I will be returning with my entire group of family, friends, relatives, and people I don't even know who I hail off the street to come eat with me. It was truly a pleasure. My most recent Thursday night visit left much to be desired. The only highlight was our server, Justin. He did a great job and was very attentive. I was hoping to try the meatball Ferris wheel again but it has been removed from the menu. Unfortunately the meatball sampler was extremely dry and bland. Every meatball tasted the same. There was a small amount of vodka sauce. Not nearly enough to mask the dry / mealy texture. My daughter had pappardelle pasta with meat sauce. Also extremely bland. We added salt and pepper but there was no hint of garlic or Italian seasoning. When a hungry college student doesn't want a to go box, you know something is wrong. I came here on a whim as I didn't knew that this place existed. I really enjoyed the food here and would like to come and try other dishes. Upon arriving to the restaurant, we were sat pretty quickly and first thoughts was the decorations were super cute. The lunch menu included an appetizer of your choice. Perfect little place for date night. Our server, Orlando, was very helpful and attentive. We started off with "Nonna's bread" which was the best carb appetizer I have ever had. We were able to share an order of the "build your own" which we went with Rigatoni alla vodka with Tony's steak meatball. The whole thing was very light but filling. Number one tip is to make a reservation. They are very busy. I went on a Friday night. Thank goodness I had reservations. They have a lot of seating, but it is a popular place. We started off with the calamari and the nonna's garlic bread. The bread seems pricey, but well worth the price. It is soft, crispy, warm and tasty. Don't pass up the opportunity to taste it. I would order it to come with your meal so you can use it with any pasta sauce that you get. We shared a salad and a pasta dish. We ordered the flora's salad. They do split it for you if you ask. The salad had great taste, but if you don't like pine nuts, this is not for you. You could always ask for I it on the side. For the pasta, we built our own. I had the eggplant meatballs with the truffle mushroom sauce and spaghetti. It is a good size to share. They do have desserts available, but we were too full to eat. We did notice that they have a separate section that is a coffee shop. They have baked goods and they also sell gelato. That area opens up at 9 AM and I was told you could sit wherever you like when you're enjoying their coffee bar products. They do also have some seating outside, but I think it's for the café . We met some friends for Dinner on a Friday evening and got reservations a few days prior. Recommend you get a rezy. The menu has a lot to choose from and our waiter Connor was very helpful. We got the meatball Ferris wheel that comes with six different meatballs that includes different meats and sauces. Our friends ordered the garlic bread and we shared a bottle of red wine. What a treat! I met up with a friend and we dined on the patio. It was a beautiful evening. We started our meal with some red wine and a calamari appetizer. The red wine was lovely. I'm more of a white wine person, but since I was planning on having a heavy pasta with steak meatballs, I opted for red and it was pleasant. The calamari was fantastic. It was crispy and the meat was cooked to perfection. Not chewy or rubbery at all. And I love that we had two sauces to choose from. My friend and I opted for a build your own pasta. My husband and I visited The Sicilian Butcher for the first time this afternoon. We were so excited to hear that Happy Hour is all day, every day. You just need to be seated in the bar area. No problem. But before we sat down, we were immediately drawn to the dessert/coffee bar. OMG, I think I gained 5 pounds just looking. Everything looked so yummy. We were greeted by no less than 5 staff members, the hostess, bartender, 2 wait staff and the manager. We looked at the drink, food and Happy Hour menu before decided on our order. We finally opted for Fried calamari and the Vino for Two for $19 which included a bottle of wine and a choice of Mixed Cured Meat & Cheese or Mixed Sicilian Style Bruschetta Board. What a deal!! Patrick, the Bartender and our Wait Staff took good care of us. We enjoyed some delicious wine (Merlot and Moscato) while we waited for our food. The Calamari came out crispy and hot. So yummy. The current Bruschetta board included Fig & Pear, Caprese, and Pea Pesto. It was not the typical thin crostini but thick cut toasted bread. All three were delicious but the Fig & Pear was our favorite. Because the dessert was calling our names, we had our leftovers packed up and ordered The Cannoli Ferris Wheel which included 6 different flavored fillings (traditional cream, Oreo, cookie butter, lemon, pistachio and Nutella) served with mini cannoli shells. It was not only delicious but so much fun spinning the Ferris wheel stealing the flavors from my hubby. LOL The General Manager, Mr. Gumaro Obregon) stopped by several times, was super kind and provided us with a sample gift pack. Thank you so much!! This was my experience: we arrived on Monday 3/02/2026 around 12pm, a few people sitting enjoying their lunch. A pretty huge bar area, The Sicilian Butcher itself feels like a warm welcome, they also have some outside seating if you choose in the future. Food 4/5 Service 2/5 Attention To Detail: 1/5 So, this was our second time heading to Sicilian Butcher and our first experience was fantastic however this one was piled with opportunities from the beginning. We were celebrating my sister-in-law's big promotion. This promotion was a year and a half in the making so we were sure to invite close family and her work peers that've helped her along the way. We set our reservation for a surprise dinner for her at 8:00pm, confirmed the morning of and were sure to have our party present by 7:35pm. Unfortunately by the time 8:00 came our table was still not ready. She walked in at 8:10 and the table was still not ready so we had to surprise her at the entrance, fine. We get seated at 8:20 and our server had a difficult time communicating effectively. I'm not sure if she was nervous or new but it felt more like we were ordering at a diner than a craft restaurant. For the inconvenience we were comped a calamari appetizer which we greatly appreciated (10/10 flavor btw). We ordered our food and started to get our plates. 1. When the general manager Gumaro came to speak to us and apologize my wife had a question regarding our eligibility for happy hour - he asked what she would like so she asked for a drink menu and he condescending laughed and said "you don't even know?". He seemed irritated that we were upset with our experience thus far and sort of downplayed them not honoring our reservation. 2. My sister in law received her spaghetti approximately 25 minutes after the first wave of plates arrived at our table. Everyone was either already or near finishing their plate. When she received her food her noodles were either overcooked or stood in water too long as the consistency was chewy and mushy - we got her food elsewhere afterward. 3. Proactively inquiring about allergies is widely considered best practice in the hospitality industry to prevent severe allergic reactions. - this was not done by our server and we had a friend at the table with a food allergy she was not aware of simply by reading the menu. 4. My plate had the wrong protein in it but honestly I didn't mind, it was delicious but again - attention to detail. Justice Jimison - the assistant manager; was a perfect example of how to handle such a situation. Since the general manager's shift ended at some point during our experience - Justice took over in communicating and checking in on us. We voiced the opportunities with him and he was patient in listening, professional, empathetic, and understanding. He is the reason we will be back. Truly appreciated is professionalism and attention to our concerns. His body language, choice in how to speak to us and even decision to be discrete were greatly appreciated - where as the general manager was the opposite. This review will be updated (hopefully), we want to love this place again but between the embarrassment of the reservation not honored, peculiar service, food allergies neglected, and the wrong protein it was just not the experience we wanted to congratulate our sister in law with. I recently went to The Sicilian Butcher for my birthday, and it was my first time there. Such a great experience. For drinks, I had an espresso martini with chocolate foam (so good), and my partner ordered the statue of David. We shared the bruschetta boards as an appetizer, which were delicious. For our entrees, I had the three meat ragu, and my partner ordered the pork rollatini & gnocchi. Everything was absolutely phenomenal, so flavorful and satisfying that we were too full to even consider dessert. The Sicilian Butcher is the new kid on the block in Italian eateries in San Antonio. My husband and I got reservations for a Friday evening. They were busy with most tables occupied. Upon arrival we were quickly seated and our server attended to us quickly, answering all of our questions and giving us a tour of the menu with recommendations. She was delightful. We ordered their Nonna's Garlic bread which was delicious. We'll be having that again. My husband had the lasagne which was good but not his favorite in town. I had the make your own pasta with rigatoni, bolognese sauce and Uncle Arthur's Sausage meatballs. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband was happy to have a taste or five of mine. We were completely full and took home a fair bit of my leftovers. We skipped dessert this time but were looking forward to another trip in which we'll try something new with, perhaps, dessert. I have been wanting to visit this place for a while since it opened. Because of mother's day it was the perfect opportunity to go. And it was a great experience! We did not have reservations and went knowing this. The hostess said it was a like 45 minutes to an hour wait. With being mothers day and all, we expected it. However they had a spritzer cart outside for the waiting patrons! Fantastic idea! It was warm but not too terribly hot when we arrived so we opted to brief look at their desserts and then went outside to a couple of tables. We then went to the spritzer cart and ordered a few drinks and it hi perfectly with the sunny weather. And after finishing the drink our table was pretty much ready. It was not even 30 minutes in waiting. Probably 20 minutes. We were sat at two round tables near the bar which was ok, but our daughter has a boot on for her foot but she managed ok. We weren't expecting that but it was ok. They didn't know. We were greeted by our server and promptly got our drink orders and all our food order. What we did was view the menu beforehand. We ordered three appetizers. The meatball ferris wheel, the grilled octopus, and Nonna's garlic bread. The drinks were all delish! The first app that came out was the garlic bread. I have to say is the absolute star of the food here. If you are here, please order it. It's the thing to have. And the butter that comes with it just elevated it to another level. It's that good. Actually better than the entrees in my opinion. The next was the meatball ferris wheel. This showcase the flavors of the entrees for me. It was indeed fun to see. Each meatball was really good and they didn't skimp on the meatballs here. It was very good and the temperature was perfect. The last was the grilled octopus. It was super tender and the sauce was good but we learned they used spicy peppers a lot in their dishes to bring out the flavors. This was the beginning and it was a solid level 1 of 5 of spice level. If you are not into spicy dishes they foreshadows a majority of the entrees here. The grilled octopus was great. And the potatoes go with it perfectly. For our meals, I got the spaghetti and red clam sauce which is spicy. My wife ordered the risotto pescatore, which is a seafood dish, and my daughter got the pork chop my way and she had it Parmesan style. The risotto pescatore came out first and it is supposedly spicy but because none of my family does spicy like me, the sis not as the peppers in the dish. And because of that, the dish tasted kind of bland and only tasted the seafood mixed together. Not bad but was unsatisfying unfortunately. So it's not the fault of the kitchen or chef. It's not made as listed so it will not really taste how it's supposed to m the server and manager pretty much came by and address the issue even though it's no fault of their own. They did offer her a side spaghetti l, which is more than enough at this point, because of all the appetizers we has filled up on. My spaghetti and red clam sauce was actually really good. I could taste the pasta being made in house. The clams with the spicy sauce was great and satisfying. The pork chop. It was just big. I mean hanging over the plate large. Our server and another server said it is big but that was the biggest pork chop they've ever seen come out of the kitchen. It was hilarious. But it tasted so good. Think chicken fried steak but pork chop. And it was delicious as well. Just too much for one person. Especially after all the appetizers! Dessert was the special they had for mother's day weekend. It was a raspberry tiramisu and it was so creamy and smooth. It was one of the better desserts I've had in a while. I also had a cappuccino and they was perfect as well. A great ending to to meal. First, you have to realize that you are paying 30-40% of the price of the meal for finish out of the restaurant and the environment. The food is 7/10 at best. We had an array of appetizers, meatballs, pasta and pizza. The meatballs were interesting but got much of their flavor from the sauces. The pasta does taste homemade but was a bit over done. The deserts were the favorite with everyone enjoying the gelato, coffee, cannoli and wedding cookies. I suspect we would stop by for desert but not for another meal. The real disappointment was the pizza. It was much smaller (9" or so) than what we were led to believe and was mostly crust. They use a non-traditional crust that is more like a focaccia with a yellow cheese baked in than what you'd find in other higher end pizzas. That's a pretty small pizza for the price and equal in size to other personal pizzas. The bottom line is that it is probably good for a business lunch or a date but don't expect to get food that will make an impression. read more

We came here on a Wednesday for a late lunch. It's in a new shopping center with plenty of parking. Most business aren't open yet, so it wasn't busy. We were sat as soon as we walked in. The restaurant was larger than we expected and decorated well. We ordered off the lunch menu. I don't see that on the website, so it might just have been part of their soft open. Kaleb & Mo - seriously, these gents made our night! Maurice needs to be elevated beyond a team lead. This man has true leadership and hospitality flowing through him!
