I have been wanting to visit this place for a while since it opened. Because of mother's day it was the perfect opportunity to go. And it was a great experience! We did not have reservations and went knowing this. The hostess said it was a like 45 minutes to an hour wait. With being mothers day and all, we expected it. However they had a spritzer cart outside for the waiting patrons! Fantastic idea! It was warm but not too terribly hot when we arrived so we opted to brief look at their desserts and then went outside to a couple of tables. We then went to the spritzer cart and ordered a few drinks and it hi perfectly with the sunny weather. And after finishing the drink our table was pretty much ready. It was not even 30 minutes in waiting. Probably 20 minutes. We were sat at two round tables near the bar which was ok, but our daughter has a boot on for her foot but she managed ok. We weren't expecting that but it was ok. They didn't know. We were greeted by our server and promptly got our drink orders and all our food order. What we did was view the menu beforehand. We ordered three appetizers. The meatball ferris wheel, the grilled octopus, and Nonna's garlic bread. The drinks were all delish! The first app that came out was the garlic bread. I have to say is the absolute star of the food here. If you are here, please order it. It's the thing to have. And the butter that comes with it just elevated it to another level. It's that good. Actually better than the entrees in my opinion. The next was the meatball ferris wheel. This showcase the flavors of the entrees for me. It was indeed fun to see. Each meatball was really good and they didn't skimp on the meatballs here. It was very good and the temperature was perfect. The last was the grilled octopus. It was super tender and the sauce was good but we learned they used spicy peppers a lot in their dishes to bring out the flavors. This was the beginning and it was a solid level 1 of 5 of spice level. If you are not into spicy dishes they foreshadows a majority of the entrees here. The grilled octopus was great. And the potatoes go with it perfectly. For our meals, I got the spaghetti and red clam sauce which is spicy. My wife ordered the risotto pescatore, which is a seafood dish, and my daughter got the pork chop my way and she had it Parmesan style. The risotto pescatore came out first and it is supposedly spicy but because none of my family does spicy like me, the sis not as the peppers in the dish. And because of that, the dish tasted kind of bland and only tasted the seafood mixed together. Not bad but was unsatisfying unfortunately. So it's not the fault of the kitchen or chef. It's not made as listed so it will not really taste how it's supposed to m the server and manager pretty much came by and address the issue even though it's no fault of their own. They did offer her a side spaghetti l, which is more than enough at this point, because of all the appetizers we has filled up on. My spaghetti and red clam sauce was actually really good. I could taste the pasta being made in house. The clams with the spicy sauce was great and satisfying. The pork chop. It was just big. I mean hanging over the plate large. Our server and another server said it is big but that was the biggest pork chop they've ever seen come out of the kitchen. It was hilarious. But it tasted so good. Think chicken fried steak but pork chop. And it was delicious as well. Just too much for one person. Especially after all the appetizers! Dessert was the special they had for mother's day weekend. It was a raspberry tiramisu and it was so creamy and smooth. It was one of the better desserts I've had in a while. I also had a cappuccino and they was perfect as well. A great ending to to meal. Had a great lunch at the Sicilian butcher. We were able to order our items off the lunch menu, which was very decently priced. Upon arriving to the restaurant, we were sat pretty quickly and first thoughts was the decorations were super cute. The lunch menu included an appetizer of your choice. One of us chose a salad the other two chose the bruschetta and one other chose the soup option. For the means the chicken Parmesan was super good highly recommend it. Perfect little place for date night. Our server, Orlando, was very helpful and attentive. We started off with "Nonna's bread" which was the best carb appetizer I have ever had. We were able to share an order of the "build your own" which we went with Rigatoni alla vodka with Tony's steak meatball. The whole thing was very light but filling. The meatball was so tender you could cut it with your fork. Finally, finished with the Ferris wheel cannoli experience, definitely a try once and then go over to the bakery any other time you go. Number one tip is to make a reservation. They are very busy. I went on a Friday night. Thank goodness I had reservations. They have a lot of seating, but it is a popular place. We started off with the calamari and the nonna's garlic bread. The bread seems pricey, but well worth the price. It is soft, crispy, warm and tasty. Don't pass up the opportunity to taste it. I would order it to come with your meal so you can use it with any pasta sauce that you get. We shared a salad and a pasta dish. We ordered the flora's salad. They do split it for you if you ask. The salad had great taste, but if you don't like pine nuts, this is not for you. You could always ask for I it on the side. For the pasta, we built our own. I had the eggplant meatballs with the truffle mushroom sauce and spaghetti. It is a good size to share. They do have desserts available, but we were too full to eat. We did notice that they have a separate section that is a coffee shop. They have baked goods and they also sell gelato. That area opens up at 9 AM and I was told you could sit wherever you like when you're enjoying their coffee bar products. They do also have some seating outside, but I think it's for the café . I'm more of a white wine person, but since I was planning on having a heavy pasta with steak meatballs, I opted for red and it was pleasant. The calamari was fantastic. It was crispy and the meat was cooked to perfection. Not chewy or rubbery at all. And I love that we had two sauces to choose from. My friend and I opted for a build your own pasta. My husband and I visited The Sicilian Butcher for the first time this afternoon. We were so excited to hear that Happy Hour is all day, every day. You just need to be seated in the bar area. We were greeted by no less than 5 staff members, the hostess, bartender, 2 wait staff and the manager. We looked at the drink, food and Happy Hour menu before decided on our order. We finally opted for Fried calamari and the Vino for Two for $19 which included a bottle of wine and a choice of Mixed Cured Meat & Cheese or Mixed Sicilian Style Bruschetta Board. What a deal!! Patrick, the Bartender and our Wait Staff took good care of us. We enjoyed some delicious wine (Merlot and Moscato) while we waited for our food. The Calamari came out crispy and hot. So yummy. The current Bruschetta board included Fig & Pear, Caprese, and Pea Pesto. It was not the typical thin crostini but thick cut toasted bread. All three were delicious but the Fig & Pear was our favorite. Because the dessert was calling our names, we had our leftovers packed up and ordered The Cannoli Ferris Wheel which included 6 different flavored fillings (traditional cream, Oreo, cookie butter, lemon, pistachio and Nutella) served with mini cannoli shells. It was not only delicious but so much fun spinning the Ferris wheel stealing the flavors from my hubby. The Sicilian Butcher is the new kid on the block in Italian eateries in San Antonio. My husband and I got reservations for a Friday evening. They were busy with most tables occupied. Upon arrival we were quickly seated and our server attended to us quickly, answering all of our questions and giving us a tour of the menu with recommendations. She was delightful. We ordered their Nonna's Garlic bread which was delicious. We'll be having that again. My husband had the lasagne which was good but not his favorite in town. I had the make your own pasta with rigatoni, bolognese sauce and Uncle Arthur's Sausage meatballs. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband was happy to have a taste or five of mine. We came here on a Wednesday for a late lunch. It's in a new shopping center with plenty of parking. Most business aren't open yet, so it wasn't busy. We were sat as soon as we walked in. The restaurant was larger than we expected and decorated well. We ordered off the lunch menu. I don't see that on the website, so it might just have been part of their soft open. We each got a salad, an entree, and a dessert. I got the panzanella and my wife got the chopped salad. I got the chicken parm sandwich and my wife got the toasted Italian. I took my extended family to The Sicilian Butcher to celebrate my adult son's birthday. I and my wife had previously met my brother and his wife there for a nice luncheon previously. I was (am) really attracted to their menu option of "build your own pasta" -- choose one of eight sauces , choose one of six proteins and choose one of ten pastas -- to design your own pasta dish to meet your special (peculiar) tastes. [I think that allows 8! X 6! X 10! =3,628,800 different combinations! But I may be wrong as I haven't had a math course of any kind in the past 54 years.] Anyway, I can vouch for the two combinations I have tried so far -- Tomaso's Sicilian meatball with gnocchi in a truffle mushroom sauce and Tony's steak meatballs on paccheri with a Parmigiano cream sauce. Both were truly outstanding, but the truffle mushroom sauce and gnocchi was heavenly! (To Die For!) So I have only 3,628,798 more combinations to try. But the show stopper for the party was when I ordered a Sicilian Strada Board and a Cured Meat & Cheese Board as appetizers for the entire table. (See photograph) The wait staff neatly slid a board of most all the appetizers they offer straight down the middle and across all 4 of our tables. There was really not enough room for the additional board of cheeses and meats that I had also ordered. Everyone marveled and "oooo'd and awwww'd" about all the flavors. And there were comments that there wouldn't be any room in their stomachs for their main dishes. The service was quick and attentive without being "hovering". I heard many compliments regarding the food. But special praise was earned by the several innovative cocktails enjoyed by some of my adult children. As far as negatives -- there were only a few. While the prices are not top tiered, they are not cheap -- but you get what you pay for and the food and service while not a bargain are a good value. Second, I was disappointed that when I and my immediate family arrived early for our reservations, the staff refused to seat us until our entire party arrived -- even though I plead my ailing medical conditions. Considering that I had made reservations for 11 more than a week early, I expected that the staff would not wait until the reservation time had passed before they began to set up the table and place settings. When I bring a large party with advance reservations, I expect special handling. While am sure that I will dine here again, I am not sure I will plan to use this venue for my larger dinner engagements. I can highly recommend for the usual dining out occasions. read more

Met Omar at the Fort Worth location and made friends for life. Now he's opening up in San Antonio and we knew we couldn't miss the grand opening. Everything was a 20/10!!! My friend and I went for happy hour and did not disappoint. We had the charcuterie board n bottle of wine, extremely filling. We also ordered the arancini balls which were delicious. We also tried the rigatoni pasta trio and it was anazing. I did try their espresso martini which was very very good but a little pricey. Our server/bartender was very informative and attentive. Great place to grab Italian food with family. Variety of pizza and pasta to share. Spacious with plenty of seating. It is a lot of carbs and sweets. My hot honey pizza was great but not enough pepperoni. The make your own pasta was delicious! Best part was the lobster tail, delicious! Our waiter was attentive and nice. Prices are steep.
