The service was impecable. Our server was so sweet, attentive and very knowledgeable. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and she brought us out a bread pudding at the end which was very thoughtful and delicious may I add. The food was again delicious. We had the chicken fried chicken and the NY strip. I've truly never had juicier chicken in my life. The gravy with that little kick of spice was the perfect addition, it was so good. Unfortunately the batter did fall off as soon as I cut into it and I got mostly chicken and no batter because I couldn't tell what was the chicken and what was the batter. The NY strip was so flavorful and it was a melt in your mouth type of feeling. It was a nice touch to have the option to choose on the butter you wanted on top of the steak. The whipped mashed potatoes were so again delicious, flavorful and just over all so good along with the Mac and cheese. Very creamy and not bland whatsoever. Classic margarita 10/10. Tried to plan my birthday dinner here recently and was not happy with the service provided by Sabrina. My party was growing (had about 30+ guests) and they could not accommodate my party unless we spent $5K for their patio. Definitely not a fun experience and it was very stressful to not have calls returned when you are trying to plan a party. We ended up taking our party to Marlin Bar and so glad we did because they did an amazing job! From the GM to the chef to our server at Marlin Bar..I could not be more happier with how they planned our appetizers & accommodated my guests which turned out to be 40+. Went on a date, was out first time. We were super excited because it was on the list of new places to try. We had a reservation; everything was good because we sat close to our time. Until we got out food. Our server visited ONCE. I wanted to tip another server because she was so great to her table. I was so disappointed. I would understand if it was a busy super packed but it wasnt. She just didnt show any hospitality. I felt she couldve done better, not sure what made her not come but one time for a dinner is not right. I had to wait a while to get a refrill. Place looks pretty, vibes are there but service wasnt. Our reservation was at 8:30 didn't get seated exactly at that time but was able to get seated shortly after! Our server Kim was amazing! Super sweet and welcoming from the start. It was mine and my boyfriend's first time there she did very well on explaining the restaurant. We didn't know what exactly to eat so we asked for recommendations and we got both she recommended. We had a less than stellar first visit to Haywire at La Cantera. It took awhile for the server to acknowledge us once we were seated... but when she did, she took one person's drink order and walked off! The remaining 4 people in the party had to wait for her to return about 10 mins later to place our orders. From what we could tell, she had one other table - a group of about 6, so we aren't really sure where she would go when she would disappear. We chose a variety of entrees to give them a try. Ribs were good but the sauce was sweet. One of the three steaks came out well done and room temperature... when it was ordered medium. Since our server had once again disappeared, it took us a really long time to notify her. Once we did let her know, she went into a long story about how the cooks were all new and not experienced. Not good when their steaks are $50+! The server apparently told her manager about the steak being sent back because he came over to check on us. He offered to replace it with something else but by that time, most of the group had finished eating, so we declined. He did graciously take the steak off our bill. He also sent over a bread pudding dessert since we were celebrating a birthday. That was delish! It's a cool restaurant with a neat decor. Hopefully they can work out the kinks. read more

We visited this restaurant for a birthday celebration on Frida (it was our first time there) My friend and I ordered the petit filet and the stuffed garlic filet. When the filets arrived, we took our first bite and immediately had to spit it out. They were overwhelmingly salty, as if someone had accidentally dumped salt on them. We called our waiter, who was very kind and took the filets back to the kitchen. However, when they returned, it was clear that the chef had simply washed the meat and recooked it. My steak, which was originally rare, ended up being medium-well. At that point, we chose not to send it back again, but we were extremely disappointed. I still can't believe we paid $50 for a steak that had been previously cooked, washed, and reheated. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, another friend noticed that our meals were listed on her ticket (at a discounted price). The total was originally $105, but with the discount, it came to $50. She tipped 20%, thinking it was based on the discounted price, but the system calculated the tip based on the original $105 total. As a result, she ended up leaving a $20 tip instead of $10. Thankfully, she caught the mistake. In the end, no one in our group enjoyed the restaurant, and I was so disappointed that I won't be returning. I went for the first time with my friend to celebrate her belated birthday. My parents had pleasant experience minus the seating. My parents were able to put their name down without a reservation and waited at the bar and then were called. When me and my friend went she tried to put her name down but they said they were booked for the day? I thought it was odd. But we found seating at the bar and felt bad though for our bar tender because it was just her for a long while. The food was good! Service just could have been better. The whole time we were at the restaurant noticed plenty of empty seating as well. I'd give it another shot maybe once the hype wears off. read more

We have been trying to get here for a while (for myriad different calamities in our world, we have had to reschedule past reservations) and I'm so glad we finally did. WOW I can see why it's so challenging to snag a reservation. This place has it all: ambience, amazing food and stellar service. Everyone else should take note. Even as I glanced at the menu the first time I was pulled in-- nice to see different items than you see elsewhere. And they do everything a step above! For reals. We started with the Queso-- wow!! Thick and flavorful with a hint of spice. We almost were licking the bowl. The cocktails were optimal as well: I had the Bourbon Smash and my husband had a super dirty martini with stuffed olives-- dreamy. We had many more. ;-) I got the Cobb Salad and honestly it's one of the best I've ever had in my life. This might sound weird but I have never had CHICKEN taste so light and fluffy and like little pillows-- in my LIFE!! How do they do that???? Husband got a 13oz Ribeye with sides and he was delighted as well. Then......we went for it. WE got DESSERT. Kids: the bread pudding is SLAP YO MAMA good.
