We have been ordering delivery from this place for years. They used to be good, but now they are AWFUL. Tonight we had an experience so bad we have officially vowed never to order from there again. We called in our usual order, and the lady who took our order told us it would be delivered in 30 minutes. When an hour went by and we still hadn't gotten our food, I called up to ask where it was. The phone girl was super rude and sounded annoyed that I had called, and told me that the guy would be there any minute before hanging up on me. Another 20 minutes later, I called back because the food still was not there. The phone girl said that she already told me it's on the way, and kept interrupting me and talking over me. I told her if the food did not arrive within the next 5 minutes, I wanted to cancel the order (I called in the order at 7:30, it was almost 9:00!!!). She just kept yelling over me, I asked to speak to the manager and she said she WAS the manager, and then that she was the owner! I told her that I can't believe an owner would speak to a customer that way and asked her if she thought it was fair to charge full price for food that is almost an hour late? She said yes without hesitation. I told her that's terrible customer service and she said "well what do you want me to do, I told you the driver left, I'm not the driver so why are you asking me." I told her I would wait 5 minutes more and then hung up. THANK GOD the food arrived shortly after - we were incredibly hungry, and tired of arguing with that horrible woman. Food was room temperature (sushi should be cold!) and just okay. SO DISAPPOINTED. This sealed the deal for us. Delivery took forever, phone girl/manager/owner is world's rudest human, and food was mediocre at best. We will NEVER order again. read more

I have only ordered take out from here once or twice.. Will not order from them again. My usual order of sweet potato tempura was not up to par, and it seemed like the inner roll has undercooked. Not even my salad or seaweed salad have stood out as being anything other than a typical, by the book sushi joint. If you're looking for quality, I would not suggest Hazuki. read more

Food is average but the service is just horrible! When dining out, I expect the experience to be on par meaning attentive service and food presented at reasonable times. The place is just too under staffed and can't keep up with the traffic which causes dining customers to wait extensive amounts of time for their food and many times serving incorrect orders. Favorite (and best) Japanese restaurant in the area! Their food is incredibly priced and delicious. I have eaten here MANY times over the years and love my sushi orders. You cannot get better food for a better price. $3 for a sushi roll? Unheard of! I don't recommend their Thai food, the rice wasn't great, but who cares when you have endless amazing sushi options! Visiting a friend who lives around , he bough me to this place , helming me how good they are. I'm really impress of their rolls, my favorite were the dragon rolls , shrimp tempura roll. And last but not the least the Salmon avo roll :). Great thing about them is the ingredients they use was fresh . I guess that's one of the most important part about sushi. read more

Very good sushi, pretty fresh, good quality, just about everything on the menu is 20 % off which is nice, you don't feel like they are robbing you, on certain nights they do all you can eat for $20.00 great deal. Not a fancy sushi place, but you could have dinner here and not feel you're eating fast food. The price is excellent, and the quality of the food has been quite good every time I've gone. There's a good selection of specialty rolls, in addition to the basics, and there is also hot food like teriyaki and recently they've added hibachi. Hazuki is a little piece of heaven from japan in a shopping center in Glen Cove ,New York. I've eaten in Japanese restaurants all over the world and this is my all time favorite. Hazuki has been my go to sushi spot for years. My wife and I are greeted like family here, as all do. The owner's Helen and Tank are one of the coolest couples you'll ever meet. Contrary to another review, I like the TV on the wall with a cool movie on and the amazing Fish tank they had. I also like to see the owners sitting down to eat with their staff and family. As per the staff, each are special in their own way. Don't mistake being focused on taking your order as rude. Each server is very kind. Tanks father and sons sometimes even help serve. That's three generations with a passion for good food and service. Need I say more.. The food is excellent. In addition to the great priced sushi they make amazing Thai. Better than any Thai restaurant around for miles! I usually mix the cuisines with a Tom Yum soup followed by a Sashimi Deluxe which has excellent quality sushi. I also take advantage of the 2 for 1 Saki from Monday-Friday. Lets just say I leave very happy, full and content. I cant wait to go again. Just writing this review is making me hungry... Best Japanese food I have. First time I went to this place with my friends on Monday. I had salmon skin salad, and some of the jumbo rolls. A lot of choices to choose from. It was very delicious. Wish I could eat more. Will definitely go back again to try the other rolls and appetizers. read more

Cheap sushi. Fish always tastes fresh. Biggest problem with this place. THE BUGS. Every time I come and eat at the sushi bar I have small bugs literally run across the bar Infront of me. I'm no "bug expert" but they don't look like bugs id want near my food. No matter what I order, it is always fresh. If you don't see what you want on the menu, you only need to ask. If they have the ingredients then they will make it for you. Prefer not to eat in as I do think they could do without the TV. Don't understand the need for TVs in restaurants. People go there to eat and converse - they can watch TV at home. I was reading other reviews of this place and was confused by all the negative ratings, although I admit I haven't tried the dreaded ikura hand roll or thai food people have been hating on. I usually order the bento or fried rice. It's always delicious and they give tons of food, so I have to starve myself before going if I want to complete my meal. I've never met the manager who is supposedly horrible, although I can say with certainty that the employees aren't Japanese. I'm not being racist and assuming they're disingenuous, I just asked and they said they were Chinese. Feel free to give a Ni Hao rather than a Konnichiwa. Peace! read more

I own a salon in the same shopping center where hazuki is located. I send them our clients any time I can since they always have great tasting and very fresh food. Their cooked food is great as well and I strongly believe they are the best in Glen Cove since sushi is my passion and have ate in all the restaurants locally. They have a great tasting menu at a bargain price. They have many types of sushi at half price. Their California Uni is to die for. They also have many great rolls . I think I hate the manager of this place more than I have hated any other restaurant employee in my life. It's a pure, seething, boiling hatred. I am amazed at my own capacity to hate a person THIS MUCH. In fact, the scenario I am about to explain to you actually happened two weeks ago, but I was unable to write a review until now, due to the fact that I was blinded and paralyzed by hate and rage. I went to this restaurant with my family and another family, who happened to be extremely loyal regulars until the pulsing, bubbling, extreme hatred overtook us all. My husband always orders an ikura hand roll at every sushi restaurant he goes to on planet earth. It always tastes as expected; he always enjoys it. However, on this fateful Evening of Newly Acquired Rage, he received an ikura hand roll that tasted like licking a toilet in a subway station bathroom. He politely told the waitress that he thought there might be something wrong with the ikura, that it was perhaps spoiled in some way. She removed the ikura hand roll from the table. Thirteen seconds later, the manager appeared, wielding the very ikura hand roll that my husband sent back in the name of Repulsiveness, and that's when the blathering began. I have no f-ing clue what she said, but it contained hits such as: "Depends on brand of fish eggs" "Taste varies from fish to fish" "The taste is different depending if the eggs are from a male or female, this fish or that fish" She finished her senseless rant with "so there's nothing wrong with it." My husband explained once again that he eats this all the time and THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS ONE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET IT AWAY FROM ME. The meal was otherwise enjoyable. But then, the bill came. On the bill, yes... It's true. We were being charged for the Toilet Bowl Ikura Roll From Hell. We said, "hey uhhhhh......can you take the ikura hand roll off the bill? We returned it in the name of Grossness" She said she would take it off "this time" but only because our friends were regulars. She made this boneheaded statement directly to my friend, who told her "no, you need to take this off the bill because it was returned to you as unsatisfactory" He just about squeezed this sentence out, because she was a relentless, disgusting, senseless, arrogant tornado of interruptions. She said she would never refund it normally because there was "nothing wrong with her fish." And just like that, ANOTHER restaurant employee in Glen Cove whose eyes I am going to have to fart in. I'm telling you, I don't have time for this. The area has plenty of good and reputable sushi restaurants, and the overrated, bonehead-run turd hut of Hazuki can take their absurd policies (and spoiled ikura) and go directly to hell. No passing Go, no $200. GTFO you smug, arrogant losers. read more
