Had a really disappointing experience with Sebastian. From the start, he had a rude attitude and didn't seem interested in listening to what I wanted. I specifically told him I didn't want my hair too short, but he completely ignored that and cut it way shorter than I asked. It felt like he just did whatever he wanted instead of considering what I actually requested. I have been going to Kari at Headlines Hair Studio in Lake Forest for 27 years now. She highlights and cuts my hair, and I always love how it turns out! I often get compliments on my hair, especially about the highlights. I have long hair, so it takes a long time, but Kari never rushes; she always takes her time to make sure that it is perfect, and she always does a beautiful job. Kari is fun, sweet, kind and the best hairdresser ever! She is an artist, so good at coloring hair and it is always so fun to go and see her. She is the best! There aren't many things I'd take time out of my work day to drive an extra 15 miles each way to do, but having Kari Musick take care of my hair is one of them. She's very knowledgeable and talented. Had Karri fry my hair and it was very long . When I complained as my hair was wet when I left and didn't notice till the hair dried at home , she could not get me in to see it or fix it . I kept calling and the owner was rude and had not even seen my hair and called me a liar ! I had been a client faithfully there but my hairdresser left . Buns would not fix , look at my hair or refund me to go somewhere else . I paid out of pocket to go somewhere else . Both Karri and the owner Bina were rude , abusive and completely unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone go here even if it's more affordable . Plenty of places where they really do a great job , use top of the line products and have the training to deliver the techniques and produce the colors without damage and humiliation if you complain after they damage you hair and charge a few hundred . So I came in earlier today looking to do a silver ombré with ramon. He is so sweet and explained throughly what he was doing during the whole process it took 3 hours!! He was great and just awesome, the reason for my 3 stars is because it's not exactly how I wanted my hair, I paid 200$ for a hairstyle that doesn't exactly look like the picture, I just was shocked at the price. I wish I could give it a 2 and a half stars... I understand that my hair is difficult to work with because I'm Asian and all but I was hoping for more silver and I got blonde. I was looking for a decent salon near where I live and I think I found it in Headlines! After reading reviews for lots of salons in the area on Yelp, I finally decided to make an appointment at Headlines and give it a try. I'm glad I did:) The salon is kind of hidden, its in the back corner of the shopping center close to the Crunch Gym and Smart and Final. Kari cut my hair and I really like it! Kari did an amazing job with my hair, beautiful work with color correcting my hair. I have a LOT of hair and if bleached, it comes out very brassy. I am naturally a brunette but currently a blonde and needed my roots touched up as well as my eyebrows lightened. I am heartbroken. I had just grown my beautiful curly hair out 4 inches below my shoulders and my hair was perfect. I went into the salon for SLIGHT layering and a trim. I walked out with my hair above my shoulders and poofy bangs that we didn't talk about AT ALL. Now my curls are gone and I am left with a poof ball on the top of my head. The worst part was that when he repeated back to me what I said he said " so you want to keep your length and you want slight very light layers?" And I said yes. I have been coming to Kari for 12 years now and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her! She started doing my mom's hair doing coloring and perms and then I started coming to her with crazy requests for cuts and colors. I've asked her to do hot pink, black and bleach blonde in 3 separate layers before and each layer was a different length. She maintained this for me monthly for a couple years when I came to her with a new request for hair like someone I'd seen before, so I brought a picture in and she took a few hours but it came out perfect! It was partial bleach blonde and partial maroon colors in certain spots that were colored. It was beautiful! But after I had my son and became older I stuck with my favorite (childhood blonde) and she has been doing amazing blonde weaves for me for years. Today I drove down from the high desert 1.5 hours away just to see her and I haven't let anyone else touch my hair. Kari has became a great friend and she did my hairstyle for my wedding also (though she doesn't ever do this). She came to the hospital when my son was born and has been at many family events. I purchased about $100.00 worth of hair products last week and came back to the salon to exchange a $6.00 item and was told that there are no returns or exchanges very rudely by the owner, Bina. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by any business owner. Later that day my stylist called me to say that Bina will now exchange my product. Apparently, Bina is quite moody and will take her aggression out on her customers. Do not go to this salon unless you want to put up with an owner that is very moody and very rude.
