Felicia was AMAZING--so welcoming, full of personality, and really added to the whole experience. Their sours and slushies were sooo good. Little hidden brewery located on someone's property? Had this place bookmarked and was able to try some of their beers at Salesforce park for the beerfest jump off party for SFBW. Anyways, we were able to pop in in the way home on Sunday. The lady who was working was cool AF because she poured us a flight like 10 minutes before closing. I tried Headyworks beer for the first time at the Livermore Valley Half Marathon afterparty and loved it. So I was very happy that they opened a brick and mortar brewery on the edge of town! Their beers are unique and creative, but always refreshing. I really enjoy their hazy IPAs and my boyfriend loves their sours. They offer a nice variety of beer options and I have yet to be disappointed. I especially enjoy their hazy pale ale because it offers all of the hops and flavor of a traditional hazy IPA while being lower in alcohol content! I love the outdoor space at this brewery. They've recently upgraded their patio furniture and it is such a nice space to spend a sunny afternoon. The last few times I've visited, there has been a BBQ food truck available. I first tried Headyworks at the Livermore Farmers Market and immediately bought a pack of their pineapple sour. We were excited to see that they opened up a shop since we hadn't been able to see their pop up after that. Their sours are so juicy and not too tart. We tried Pineapple Party, Mango Michi and Forbidden Fruit. The pineapple was the most tart, mango in between, and the last wasn't sour at all. All were delicious and tasted like fresh blended juices were added. We also tried a hazy IPA which we enjoyed as well. There is some indoor seating at the bar with most of the seating outside under shade. Not a huge space but I'm curious to see what they do with the open area by the entrance. One of our favorite breweries in the bay is Fieldwork, and the beers at Headyworks fills that void. I only wish the location was a little more central or closer to downtown and opened on weekdays but it's worth the drive! read more

Is this the new Livermore hidden gem???? Are you kidding me with this place!!? So so cute!! The beers? Guys I'm not a beer drinker, never have I ever enjoyed ANY beer but the beers here!!!? They currently have 6 sours that are absolutely fire! Pineapple beer that actually tastes like pineapple? Never heard of that. They have a mango flavor, blood orange, and a fruit punch flavor called Jungle Juice'd. And all of them are made in house! When are the hot trio ladies working behind the bar again? I'm only here for them! Parking is plentiful on the dirt road, the cutest little alleyway down to an open patio filled with laughs and good memories. Everyone is so nice here...very new, very vibey, and very clean! read more

They have good hazies and sours here! We dropped in Sunday around 4pm and it wasn't that busy. Staff was really nice to let us sample before committing to pints. The mango michi pulpy sour was our favorite. The sour slammer pulpy sour, Finish Him! Hazy ipa, and Hella Pale were also good. Big outdoor area. Seating indoors is at the bar. What a great little place!!! Gotta start by saying you're not gonna accidentally run into this place, its in an industrial area on a side street off vasco but once you find it great choice. They have a nice selection of ipa's and sours I had the blood orange sour and gotta say it was excellent also tried the pineapple sour it was good too. They had a birria taco guy set up in the outdoor area good food I had the birria dip sandwich. Small inside with bar area and tvs on the wall but plenty of outdoor covered seating with games for the kids. Overall another great addition to livermore Welcome!!!! read more

This place is a vibe. Feels like drinking in your neighbors backyard if he/she really loved homebrewing wacky sour beers. The chamoy/tamarind/mango smoothie sour was unique in an otherwise dearth of Livermore IPA-forward breweries. The mystery sour beer was quizzically somehow both sour and incredibly bitter from the lime zest infusion. It's not a style I'd ever seen before, but I'm here for it. Bicycling wasn't the easiest mode of transport to get here - the roads are dicey leading up to the entry, and the gravel road is pretty loose. Southfront road could use a good street sweeping in the "bike lane". Finally, I'd recommend Headyworks look into adding a couple bike rack poles or something to secure bikes to. read more

At first, I wasn't too sure--mainly because of the road leading up to the place. But once we arrived? Total vibe. Super chill, family-friendly, and way nicer than I expected. Most importantly--the beer. Wow. Their hazy IPAs and lager were out of this world. I came in with low expectations, but now? I'm a fan. This spot might just give Altamont a run for its money. Tiny place in Livermore. Hard to find. Beer was ok. Service was not good. We stood waiting to be acknowledged and barely got a "what can i get for you" seemed like we were not welcome or maybe the employee was irritated that we disrupted his talking with his friends at the counter. We felt uncomfortable. We had never been there before and love to try out local breweries. We support small businesses and always want to give them a chance. For business owners; who you have working the front is so important. Train your employees to be friendly and engaging especially in a brewery. They do have some sours on tap and some slushie drinks. Tried a sour, it was alright. IPA was decent. Probably won't go back. Sad, we had high hopes. Good luck Headyworks! read more

Livermore's hidden beer Oasis Getting to this tap room is actually not as bad as some have mentioned, it is located 100ft or so on a private non-paved street that can be a bit bumpy (suggest using Preston Ave. which is paved to enter and leave).. But once you get there you will find a cool vibe and laid back atmosphere with a great selection of beers. Great food is provided by the rotating group of food vendors (be sure to check the weekly posting on Instagram) for new releases and the food vendor schedule. There's a fair sized covered outdoor lounge area with comfortable seating or inside you can belly up to the nice sized bar. There's 3 large screen TV's and the most important a good selection of beer on the TV/menu which seems to always have at least 1 or 2 new creations and something to suit almost all tastes . The staff is helpful but it can get busy so relax a bit if they are helping with someone else's order. These are beers like no others you have probably tasted, so sample, get a flight or pint and enjoy!! read more

Headyworks may remain one of Livermore's best kept secrets, or become one of Livermore's most hard to find hot spots! The location is seriously tucked away on Franklin Ln., a little dirt road in the middle of an industrialized zone on the south east side of town. The tap room is housed in what seems like an aluminum out-building behind somebody's house. Don't get me wrong! I love it! The vibe is like you're hanging out in the back yard driveway of a welders house, funky but clean, private and comfortable. You sorta feel like nobody's gonna find you... ever!:):) It's unique! The beer is fresh, tasty and refreshing. Not a huge selection but enough to keep you busy for a while. A light lager, pale ale, two or three New England hazy IPA's and pretty decent selection of fruity sours. (We didn't try the sours. Next time). IMHO the "Jacknife" Double New England Imperial Hazy IPA was the best. But their "Finish Him" New England Hazy IPA is also good, and seems to be their most popular signature beer. Obviously, micro brews, like wines are in the eye's of the beholder. The people pouring are super, super nice and friendly and attentive! An added bonus was the "Burgers are 4Ever" food tent! Amazingly delicious, reasonably priced smash burgers and fries! Not sure if they come and go, or are a permanent fixture. These folks are working hard, and they deserve to make it!
