Poor customer service. Takes way to long to get food. They messed up very simple orders. Would not recommend.

This was very disappointing. We've eaten here a few years ago and it was delicious and the fries were so good. DO NOT GO HERE! This place appears to be a quick burger shack by the road. We waited over 30 minutes for a burger!! The food is mediocre at best. I do not understand what takes so long to make a single burger? There is a reason this place is so poorly rated it's consistently awful. Stumbled upon this place by accident when I was searching for a tire shop. I've heard about it, only because the owners just purchased the famous Pic's Drive In in Cloverdale. I like the fact they use freshly ground meats. That really is the only way to make a good burger. I ordered the famous Cowboy Burger that comes with a tower of onion rings. The reason for only 4 stars is because the rings were just a tad burnt; possibly they are using old oil or too high temp on the fry basket. The burger comes on a Ciabatta bun which didn't hold up very well under all the wet ingredients. Also, it's difficult to bite into without stuff squishing out the other side. In all, I probably won't order that burger again as I felt like I needed to be hosed down after finishing! Word to those in a hurry: this is not the place to go if you need quick service, especially on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. read more

Today I was pleasantly surprised by the small old time burger shack, situated just off the central exit tucked away on an immediate side street. Few places can make a good burger. I'm a meat man. I order all my burgers the same; rare. Fewer places can make it to my standard. A perfectly rare burger came out, my garlic fries came out above standard and piping hot. Flavor was on par. Yum. First, the good: delicious cheddar burger and turkey burger cooked to order. Really nice, well intentioned teenagers working here. The bad: the teenagers were understaffed and probably a tad inexperienced to be running the joint. It wasn't busy but took 40 minutes to get out order (2 cheeseburgers, 1 turkey burger). It was super dirty with a ton of flies. Garbage cans are dirty and overflowing, light bulbs are burned out, and the entire place could use a good scrub down with hot water and soap! read more

So I just got done having the buffalo burger and onion ring and fry combo and let me tell you it was all amazing from the service of the guy helping us with his suggestions and knowledge of what they had on the menu separate and the specials and the regular menu Also telling us that everything was locally sourced which is amazing to know from a restaurant and I've seen reviews on here if you were complaining about the price but it's like the sign says here it's not fast food it's good food and if you want good food you have to pay for it if you want bad food and cheap food McDonald's is a block away so I give this place five stars I will be coming back here and eager to try all the other amazing things on the menu. I think up next will be the tri-tip because the guy that was helping us out said the person makes it himself in the back, so I'll see you guys soon for the tri-tip. Ok, in my previous review I rambled on about the burgers. My opinion on burgers stay the same (meh. Refer to original review). But... I will say there are other things on the menu besides the burgers. I went back in hopes they had chili...and guess what...they did! Healdsburger actually has REALLY GOOD chili, especially with the fries. I didn't realize that they cut the potatoes on the spot for fries, so now I feel a lot better about eating them. In my original review I said they had a cardboard-like texture which of course made me worry they were the worst kind of frozen and cheap box fries. Not the case at all, so with the chili they actually go perfectly because they don't immediately turn to mush. It seems they have been nailing it on the head lately with random things I've been craving- chocolate milk-shake (YUM), chili....I didn't realize they have turkey burgers too so I'll have to go back and try one of those. read more

Messed up my order but it was still pretty good it took a while but it was pretty good

Oh god. Why did I go back here?? Our last visit we waited for 46 minutes for some charred well over medium burgers, followed by soggy fries 10 minutes later... but I still came back. Because a couple years ago you could get A+ food and service here--and we did, often. So this time, we called our order in ahead thinking that at least the lack of a wait time might make our food taste better. "25-30 minutes" is what we were told. I generously waited 31 minutes before going in to pick it up...and then I waited...and I waited...and I waited. 57 minutes. Apparently 57 minutes is how long it takes to make 2 burgers and fries. And I'm fairly positive they made the fries right when I ordered--they were totally inedible. Cold, soggy, and basically still whole potatoes (about half of them had slice marks but we're stuck together whole...simultaneously raw and soggy). Our "medium" burgers were well done and not in a good way. The buns were dry. The toppings were bleh. I know the sign they have about it not being fast food, don't expect fast service--but I will expect what YOU tell me. If you give me parameters for timing I will expect that. And typically it's nice to have your burgers and fries at the same time. read more

I like the sweet potatoe fries, everything else is way too expensive for what you get. The burgers are good, but not 'that good' for what you pay. Nothing super creative on the menu either. Props to the outdoor seating and the staff is friendly, but certainly not somewhere to make a 'regular' lunch spot. Divine has burgers as big, and as tasty and you can save yourself a few bucks in the process. ps I concur with the other reviewer about the ranch dressing, i'm not a super fan to begin with, but their ranch is just some of the nastiest stuff ever - tastes like it belongs in an individual serving cup portion, that has been microwaved for 6 months. icky. read more

I'm a Healdsburg local, so I'd been to the restaurant once under its previous owners, and never went back. Silly me; had I known that the place had changed, way for the better, I could have been eating good burgers for the last two years. I went there the other day, and thought it was great. I had a bleu cheese burger and fries. The burger was thick and juicy (I ordered it medium rare, which was my mistake; with the creaminess of the cheese, it would have been better and less messy ordered medium), with generous portions of veggies and condiments. Overall, I liked the burger more than the more expensive ones at Healdsburg Bar & Grill. The fries are very good. The owners were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike. I'll be back. The previous reviewer that mentioned sweet potato fries is talking about the previous owner, when the place was pretty awful (more than two years ago); I asked, and the current owners have never had those on the menu. read more

Amateurish and overpriced. We asked about the sweet potato fries, and the person working there told us they didn't have them. The person who waited on us over-charged us. No problem, except when I pointed this out, the person was ticked off at me for causing them difficulties. The fries were limp, greasy, and way undercooked. Asked for my burger to be cooked medium, but it was cold and raw inside. We wanted to order a couple of burgers to eat there, and we wanted to take a couple of fresh burgers with us. Yes, this was a little confusing. When we started to leave, we told the cook that we were ready for the to-go burgers. He was surprised, since he'd already made these burgers. This review is for the spicy chicken sandwich. While it tasted good, the problem was that it wasn't a piece of chicken. It was fake chicken shaped like a hockey puck. I've had chicken sandwiches there before and I assumed this would be a chicken breast not a mc chicken. The burgers and fries are always great but this was a shock to me. I consider myself a "responsible" *Yelper* and don't like to give poor reviews after one experience with an establishment so, I commit to update this when I visit again. 1:30 on a Sunday. Not a lot of people. We are told it's a 30-min wait. It's a toasty 86 degrees outside and miserable inside. The young people working there are profusely sweating. The flies are more than plentiful outside while we wait. No ones fault, just take note the fly situation is pretty excessive. We end up getting our fries close to 50-minutes after we ordered. The milkshake in the wrong flavor 5-min after that. The food, a full 10-minutes after the fries. It's just not personally how I like to eat (with all my food spread out), cold fries, warm milkshake, etc. The Aliotto burger is supposed to come on a French bread roll. They ran out and served it to me on two slices of sourdough bread. I would have appreciated them telling me in advance they ran out, and offering options versus trying to pass it off on me when they served it. I went inside and asked for another bun. They offered a refund and I said it was fine, I just wanted a bun which they gladly brought me. The lamb burger was simply okay, and overcooked. Asked for medium rare got it well done. The place seems understaffed because there wasn't the crowds to warrant the excessive wait. On a positive note; The young people running the place were very kind, and had positive attitudes. They offered good customer service, and were apologetic about all the mishaps. We will try it again, and update the review. read more

Do you wish to avoid the droves of zombie like tourists on the plaza? Then Healdsburger is the place for you. Just before you walk in, a sign in the window proudly explains who they are, and their philosophy behind their burgers. Basically saying that frozen patties are not allowed here, and they will ask, "how do you like your burger prepared?" As any serious burger restaurant should. I ordered the 14oz Mondo Double burger. This monstrosity is packing some serious meat (so to speak.) Prepared medium rare, it was tender and flavorful, with warm temperature throughout. Being the size it was, eating the thing was a challenge on its own. I'm glad the burger was good, because I also ordered a side of fries. Big slices of potatoes, but rather bland. read more

Went here for lunch before wine tasting on Saturday. Got the Cowboy Burger with sweet potato fries and an oreo milkshake. Somehow that rang up to $22. I remember the shake was $4.95 and the burger was $12.95 and came with onion rings, and I asked to switch out for sweet potato fries. So does that mean they charged me $4 to switch out the onion rings for sp fries? If so, that's lame. Because the cowboy burger on it's own without onion rings is essentially the bacon BBQ cheeseburger which is on their online menu for $8.95. I didn't think about it at the time, so I actually added on a $4 tip, for a total of $26 and some change. There wasn't much in their tip jar, so I'm guessing most people don't tip at all since it's not a waitress coming to your table and taking your order. The burger was really good after I took the jalapeños off that were not mentioned on the chalkboard menu. The sweet potato fries were acceptable, but nothing special. The shake tasted like your average shake. Definitely not worth the $22 plus tip that I paid. read more

GREAT BURGERS. I am not a hamburger fan but my husband is. However after tasting wines all day into the late afternoon, I was famished and anything for me would do. I also didn't want any more fu-fu food which is what you mostly find in the wine country, I wanted a hardy sandwich. When we passed by the restaurant I told my husband to turn around since it said burgers and was off the beaten path which are the kind of places I like to find. I don't like burgers because they are usually dry and tasteless. Not these burgers. I still tell people about those burgers. JUICY, JUICY and TASTY. I ate my entire burger with juice dripping down my hands and was stuffed. My husband agreed this was one of the best burgers he has eaten in a long time. My boyfriend and I came in around 6:20 ordered and had our food by 6:35. When the food was brought out it was cooked exactly as we asked them too. We have borderline-frequented this "small town burger joint" because it is right down the street from our workplace. We think the cook sucks. and there must be something wrong with the people taking the orders as well.... they cannot seem to get it right. They ask us what temperature we want the burger cooked...why would they ask us if they are just going to ignore our answer...? they burn it every time. even the "rare" temperature order. yeah.... i know... One time i tried to order it "without sauce" or "dry" as they called it.... and wouldn't you know it....... my order came out sloppy and splashing with all sorts of sauce. In my line of work I come across a lot of places that say they are the "best burger" and many of them are good but Healdsburger is hands down one of the best tasting burgers I have come across in a long time. The location has gone through an ownership change in the past year and the new owner Chris really knows what she is doing. Their menu is simple but delicious. High quality meat and a variety of cheeses to customize your burger (my favorite is the blue cheese). Do yourself a favor and go to Healdsburger. Your tummy will love you for it. read more
