Love the food! It has been one of my favorite places to eat for a while, but some of the employees are rude (which is why they are marked down in stars). We arrive an hour before they closed and the cashier didn't even greet us, she just told us that we have to order our food to go because they're closing. Another time we came, this time at 5:30 (a whole hour and a half before closing) and the same lady was working and she did the same thing again. There are other times that her and other staff have been rude. We have stopped trying to go here due to the countless times that the staff has been unpleasant. read more

Sausage was good and the chili was excellent..wanted more chili but they ran out! Best burger in Sonoma county if you ask me. yes it is not the cheapest, but these are freshly made burgers. the fries are good, but there is always a chance you can get a bad batch as i have heard other reviews mention. even though i have yet to have a bad experience. dont expect this to be a quick place, it is a freshly made patty so it will take 15 min or more depending on crowds. they have some nice outdoor seating. the menu is simple, but heck, its a burger and fries kind of joint. always see them preparing milkshakes, they look good, and is on my list to try out when i go back next. almost forgot to mention, these burgers can get messy, dont wear your nice shirt, you are going to get down and dirty eating. read more

I could have sworn that I had already written a review of this place a few months ago when it opened, so I decided to to take a friend this weekend to see if the what the changes have happened. If any... The place is busy on the weekends but during the week, on Friday at noon we walked right in and where the only people here for at least 15 minutes. The have a couple of burger options. For some reason they have a 14 oz burger on the menu. Huh? That's almost a pound of meat, and they wonder why we have a health problem in the US..... After about 10 minutes both of our burgers arrived, assembled in a way that is going to put stretch marks on my already tired mouth. After smashing down the burger and cutting into two pieces, I was able to start enjoying what was a decent not over cooked burger. We both ordered a rare burger, but my lunch partner got his with extra special treatment....it was well done. He opted to eat it by using more ketchup that was brought for the limpy greasy fries. One large order was sufficient for both of us. Well I wish I could be jumping up and down on how great this place is, but unfortunately y I can't. There is no excuse for inconsistency which is what we experienced this time also. The 7 dollar burger is not as good as the Carl's JR, 6 dollar burger, and when you add in soggy fries, there is just no reason for a return visit again. I wish I could say that this place rocks, like Taylor's in Saint Helena does, but they just don't have the buger machine in place to put out a super product. When I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and onion rings with no drink and the bill came to $14.88 I was like WTH!!! But when I took my first bite I was in burger nirvana, probably the best burger and onion rings I have ever had. I have a pretty small appetite so the order could have definitely be split. Drove from Santa Rosa and attempted to order about $50 in burgers and was told they're cooking chili so can't cook amy burgers! Many customers walked out. Poor owner probably doesn't know. This is newly owned and I found it on a backroad in Healdsburg. The owner was very nice and told me that he was adding to his menu. He recommended the burger, which I generally do not eat, but I ordered that and was pleasantly surprised. He also said the sweet potato fries were good, so I ordered them too. Seriously, even with all the new burger places opening locally, we love this one the best -- not only do they ask how u want yr burger cooked (and then cook it just that way) -- but also the prices are amazingly low!! A regular burger, served with ample slices of fresh (not cardboard) tomato, crunchy lettuce, thinly sliced onion and a bit of pickle -- costs only $5.75! And it's sooo tasty, with a bit of the grill flavor. The fries are fabulous, hot and freshly cooked to order-- they arrived salted to perfection and we always gasp when the "small" order arrives, cuz it's HUGE - and costs $1.55! What? Does anything cost $1.55 anymore (esp in Healdsburg) besides something from a big corporate mega-biz?? The service is perfect for a revamped burger joint, with the owner onsite most of the time, watching over things to be sure the quality is high. Stellar food! Good flavor and a good selection. Fiance and I got the special garlic bacon burger and a BLT with avocado--both were delicious. The veggies were fresh and flavorful, and the burger was cooked exactly as we ordered. The garlic fries were soft, but covered with minced garlic rather than garlic powder. It was definitely the pre-minced bottled stuff but it made for some good fries. Definitely coming back. read more

Expensive and terrible. My boyfriend and I went in for a to-go order. When we walked in, there were 6 people and another couple ordering. We both ordered the mushroom burger (mine on lettuce) and a large order of fries. It took them almost a half hour to get our ready, which they didn't get right (we noticed once we got home to eat) despite the fact that the kid who took our order wrote it down himself. No machines involved. The burger itself was completely flavorless and for mushrooms and cheese on lettuce for $10, I was definitely not impressed. In 'N Out is way better for almost half the price. great burger at a modest price. the sourdough burger was served on a gigantic slice of baguette which made the eating of the sandwich quite difficult. i don't mind a messy burger, in fact, this one was juicy and had lots going for it. the issue was more with the tack of the bread and how difficult it was to bite through given the dimensions of the burger. the temperature was perfect, the fries were good and the location was great. they've got an outside seating area with picnic tables, my dogs loved it. read more

Food is not bad but the cooks are super rude, to customers and each other! I was also over charged. I got a small order of chili cheese fries ($5) and a large soda ($2.95), somehow it came to $12.95. When I questioned the cashier she said, "it's the tax". How can the tax be 60% of my total? We ate here on Fourth of July and the place showed a lot of potential with its patriotic decor. The burgers were big and tasted good. We ordered the Cajun and a couple of Bobo burgers. That's where the positives end for us. We also ordered a Ceasar salad, which was not that great. I would have preferred my salad with more romaine hearts than the dark leafy part of the lettuce. The salad also came with too much dressing and cheese. The fries were average. The tables were sticky and there were so many flies inside the restaurant, which took the appeal from the burgers out. OMG - this place is amazing. Best burgers we've had in Sonoma County. The portions are generous, and the food is more fabulous than even the best backyard barbecue. The fries are great, and the sweet potato fries are even better. Friendly staff, with a comfortable seating inside and an awesome, shady, picnic table seating area outside. The one and only problem we've encountered each time we return is deciding which burger or chicken sandwich to have because they are all spectacular - juicy and flavorful. But seriously, the only drawback: the flies, who seem to be smart enough to sniff out the delicious food at this place all year round. After reading how they were in Best of Sonoma magazine, we decided to finally try them. Being a local, we could come back often. We ordered Big Daddy burgers, one with cheese and one without. They weren't so busy when we arrived but several couples looked like they had been waiting for their orders for a while. You know that look on their faces. Our order took about 30 minutes. The burgers were good but not remarkable. Fries were fresh, crispy and didn't taste like oil. That was a plus. They are clearly understaffed and as other reviewers said, the tables hadn't been cleaned resulting in a few flies and the condiment bottles weren't clean. Went to Healdsburger for the first time for dinner. We both had a the Hamber, fries and a choc. shake, My husband was shocked at the price of thirty dollars spent but ok let see if it,s worth it? First he ordered his hamber med. and mine med.well.The inside of his burger was bleeding it was so raw, so we sent his back, my burger was med. done but I ate it. The hambers had great flavor just not cooked right. the shakes were great! The fries had we not krispy at all :( large portions were great but the fries were soft I didnt eat mine. Since Healdsburger re opened under new ownership, I've been several times and always enjoyed the food. The big daddy burger is probably the best in town. On the days when the owner is present, the service is fantastic! Unfortunately, I stopped by recently and the group of teenagers working there were very unattentive. I waited at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged before placing my order. If I were new to the restaurant, I'd probably have left with out ordering. I hope this is a one time thing because I really appreciated Dave Alioto's revitalization of Healdsburger and it is my favorite place to grab a burger in Healdsburg. read more

This may be my new favorite burger joint in Sonoma County....and I've been to a lot lol. First trip there I made small talk with the manager, who was surprisingly down to earth. Being in Healdsburg, I imagined I could have some fine dining-eque conversation about their food, but I was wrong....in a good way. When I asked about where they get their blue cheese from, he told me that this was a local joint, a neighborhood spot for the people who live here. If they wanted fancy ingredients with big names, they'd be located in the square and charge double, but that's not the mentality. So humbled and enlightened, I ordered their standard burger with white cheddar cheese and a banana shake. What a great meal. I was absolutely blown away. Burger was cooked to a perfect medium, with juice dripping out of each bite. One of my burger place annoyances are oversized produce (like half a head of lettuce or a 3" thick tomato slice) but everything was proportional and it really balanced out the burger perfectly. My girlfriend enjoyed their cowboy burger with bbq sauce and onion rings and she fell in love as well. My shake was perfect, tasted like my mom would make during a barbecue or something like that. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is that on my second visit my burger was cooked well instead of medium like I asked for. I ate it without saying anything, because even then their burger is good enough to compete with the rest of the county. read more

As a local, I have been there several times...but never again. I usually expect slow food prep & service times, but this time I waited 40 minutes only to go to the counter to ask "how much longer for two burgers and one small fry...to go" only to be told they haven't even started the order yet. It was at 2 pm and not even busy. They simply had a very disorganized stack of order slips and couldn't keep track of what they cooked.
