I love their burgers, they are as good as it gets. I get the 3 oz Bobo burger which is more than large enough for me. It comes on a quality bun and is cooked perfectly. Just picked up a burger add bacon and cheddar and a side of onion rings to go for $12.15. Got home and my burger was well done and most of my onion rings were burnt. Went there once when it was run by the old owners and it was bad. Thought I'd give it a chance for the new owners to impress-some of the reviews were good- but for $12.15 it was a waste of my money. We live in Los Gatos and heard friends talking about Alioto's Healdsburger. We made a point to eat there on our last trip to the wine country. It was so good that we went back the next day! We loved the fresh cut french fries, garlic fries, crispy onion rings and cooked-to-order burgers. Enjoyed wine and beer with our dinner and fabulous milkshake and malt for lunch. The staff was enthusiastic and took good care of us. We saw a steady stream of customers during our time there and many seemed to be 'regulars'. Would be a great summer dining choice with large patio area. We will not pass by Healdsburg without stopping in. read more

When I moved to Healdsburg it was the first restaurant I went too. I have tried their Big Daddy Burger and their Polish dog and they are both very good. Their fries are very good as well, very crisp. Their beer selection is very good to choose from as well. Their service has been good but there have been a couple of mistakes. My gf one time waited 45 minutes for her food. When she went and asked, they realized they had left it sitting on a side counter. However, they said they would give her half off her next order and when we went back a week later, they honored it! That is very nice of them. That is not to insult the staff though. That place can get packed and those guys and gals working behind the counter work their butts off to get the food out. The hours are a bit odd. I have seen it close as late as 8:30 and as early as 5:00. The price is a little high. You are looking at 7 bucks for a burger (some burgers are more than that), that is not including fries and a drink. With everything you are looking around 12 bucks or higher for a meal. Overall, it is a good place to eat. I personally would not go every day but every once in a while if you feel like splurging, this is the place to go. read more

We arrived and sat inside. My wife ordered a burger and I ordered the "special" steak sandwich. Our fries were served about 15 minutes before we received our sandwiches. When I noticed that people who ordered after we did were halfway through their meals, I asked the order taker about the status of our order. I was told the steak was holding things up. When our order did arrive,my wife liked the hamburger and I was extremely disappointed with the steak sandwich. I asked before I ordered it if the steak was thinly sliced and then chopped up. She explained it was. I received a thick steak that was sliced into about six pieces on a small bun. It was flavorless and the sauteed onions were almost non-existent. I paid $13 for this sandwich. Tried the spicy chicken sandwich with homemade fries and medium drink. A little too much Srriacha sauce with the chicken... fries were made just before serving and were fantastic. Service was good... a little slow I thought, but then I realized they were making everything fresh. That makes it worth the wait. Sat outside at the picnic tables and enjoyed the company of the locals eating there. Off the beaten track from the touristy part of town and well worth it. Wow! I just had a group of 28 for a catered BBQ at my house. The food is just great and Ryan and his staff were a pleasure to work with. The Tri Tip was cooked to perfection and the salads were fresh and appealing with a nice presentation. I would use them again. The food here is hit or miss. Don't call in an order. They do not get those right ever. The wait time is always long- expect a 25 minute wait for a burger & fries. After eating lunch here I accidentally threw out my Invisalign. When I got home I realized what I did and called healdsburger and the employees searched through all the garbage that day in order to find my Invisalign. I would love to give 5 stars but I'm writing this because of the "pick-up order" policy. I hope the manager reads this. I love Healdsburger! Great tasting food, great quality food, great staff! But the way you guys do the pick-up order is not right! I called at 11:50. I ordered a small fry and milkshake. Man said 5-10 minutes. I arrived at 12:02. I told them I had pick up order. 3 other people in line also had pick up orders that was called in at 11:30. We all waited in a huge line. I finally get to the front at 12:15. My fries were soggy and on the cold side. My milkshake was perfect! Thank goodness. I wasn't wanting a melted shake. I just feel there has to be a better way for pick- up orders. stumbled by this place and had to try it. I had the CA classic burger, I was so glad they asked how I wanted it cooked I always will choose medium well, they had cooked it to the perfect doneness. Dog friendly great vibe, be prepared the burgers are juicy don't take a bite unless your prepared to allow juices to fall. Delicious, fresh, and well crafted burgers!! My girlfriend and I frequent the Sonoma wine country and decided to stop-in to this quaint local burger shop during an afternoon of wine-tasting. Our first impression was the friendly staff who greeted us with smiles as we walked in despite being visibly busy at the time. We ordered the signature steak sandwhich, a Mondo burger, garlic fries, and I couldn't resist the temptation to try the Stout beer float. The burgers were delicious and cooked just right, and a heaping tray of hot fries (made right in front of us with fresh potatoes) topped it all off. The Stout float was an ingenious concoction that I will be sure to replicate at home for my next BBQ. We most definitely will be back as this is the perfect feast after a few stops at the local wineries! read more

I went to the Healdsburger for the first time and was really disappointed with the food. I placed a to go order so I didn't notice that the onion rings were burned until I got home. They also forgot the avocado on my chicken sandwich. My boyfriend's chocolate shake was watery and didn't have much chocolate in it. I called and spoke with the manager hoping for a simple apology and instead he told me that everybody likes there onion rings differently that they were not burned. After reading the diverse reviews, we almost decided not to try Healdsburger since we were coming all the way from Novato and didn't want to waste the trip. However, fortunately, we fortunately decided to give it a shot and were we ever glad. We took the advice of earlier visitors and asked for the fries to come with the burger which they did. The fries were among the best I've had and all four of us thought the burgers were first class. The teenagers who seemed to be doing all the order taking, cooking, serving, etc. were efficient and pleasant. The food is fine and I don't mind waiting for fine food. However, I'd suggest you change the way you deliver it to the outside table. Most definitely during your busiest times. Calling the order's name in an average voice at the head of the first row of multiple tables doesn't get it.... If you don't get an answer don't assume the customer got tired of waiting 30 minutes for his burger and headed for McDonald's. Go to all the tables and call his name. Then if there's no answer, he most likely did gave up on getting his burger. Think about giving customers numbers to carry to their table and/or PA system that all tables can't help from hearing. I'm a Sonoma county local, and I am tired of everyone raving about the "best burgers", and then I try a place and it's mediocre. This place however, didn't disappoint me in the least! The first time I went here, I only got a milkshake, which was wonderful. Second time I decided I had to try a burger, and at first I was gonna just go for a normal burger till I saw the Cajun burger on the menu. WOW! So yummy! The fries were good too, not great, but good. Walked in and the cashier didn't even say a word to us we sat down thinking they where going to come and take our order...NOOOO she just stood there and said nothing, so I got up to order our food. I was raised in the Midwest and I love a good burger that is not from a chain but is local. So, I intentionally bike to Healdsburg from Santa Rosa to eat here. I do it to justify the calorie intake. It is worth every pedal stroke because the burgers are good and the fries are great! It is a local place, which means the staff is young and pleasant, which makes it all the more fun to eat here. Be aware that during peak hours the service can be slow because it is not a chain burger factory. Either deal with it or time your arrival so you eat at off-peak hours. read more

They do have good food, but check your order before you leave/eat it. I work close to this place, so I've walked over to pick up lunch a few times. The first time I ordered a turkey burger and it was good except that the bun was really soggy and they forgot to not put mayo on it like I had asked. The next time I ordered the bacon BBQ cheeseburger and there was no bacon on it!! My coworker ordered it too and her's didn't have any either. I said I'd give them one more chance and recently ordered a BLTA (with avocado)....no avocado! How hard is it to put all the ingredients on something that has them listed in the name? I get short lunch breaks so I can't walk back and correct the problem and I left a $2 tip on the BLTA with no A! Not going to take another chance. read more

Really disappointing. Been here before and had much better food and service then. Went last night. The place was busy but not crazy busy. I ordered a bbq chicken sandwich(a regular menu item) and onion rings. It took them over 40 minutes to get the order out and when it got to me it wasn't good. The onion rings were over cooked to the point of being burned. The sandwich was slathered in bbq sauce so much that the chicken was unrecognizable. I ordered a beer when I got there but the little that was left by the time the food arrived, was quite warm. When I left, they were still busy but most of the staff had gone home or off shift.
