I usually don't write reviews but I had the upmost bittersweet experience passing through here. During my experience I noticed how the manager would scold his employees on the side of the restaurant for all the customers to see, which I believed was completely unprofessional. This wasn't the case until I asked the workers at the register if I was to tip on card if the worker would receive the tip to which they both replied, "No, the manager keeps all tips processed through debit and credit cards." As a worker in this industry for almost eight years I can say it is disturbing how illegal it is for the manager to steal tips from his employees, but the harassment in taking advantage of workers that are minors is even worse. As someone who is in close contact with our California labor commissioner office, I'm surprised she hasn't heard about this establishment yet and how unfairly they treat the employees. Came here the other day with my husband, and we loved the customer service! The food was great but the staff were even better. The owner or manager literally knew almost every customer by name and helped you add and take out things in your sandwich based on your preference. Then lots of plane decor, dogs in vest pictures, Bible quotes, and lucky bamboo, a real mish mash. Sandwiches are paninis - Caribbean with chicken and mango salsa and a Pesto with turkey. Sides of fresh fruit and coconut curry soup. Caribbean had super spicy black beans, and lots of red onions, never did find the mango and a couple of small pieces of chicken breast. The pesto was better, but the turkey was deli sliced and looked like ham. Not very healthy. Both sandwiches runny and messy. Soup was tepid, not hot and tasted like a Trader Joe's Indian food packet that had some stock added to it. Flavorless. The fruit bowl was sad. Watermelon only, and mealy to boot. The owner has an interesting story which I found on their website. Another example of someone with heart and no knowledge of the food industry. I ended up getting their All Fruit Smoothie with whey protein. The fruits include banana, strawberry, blueberries and mango. I think you can get any combination of these fruits. They use almond milk in their smoothies. Protein options are whey and vegan. I was charged 5.28 or 5.38 though the menu says $6. Maybe because I took it to-go? Not really sure. In any case, the smoothie was convenient and tasty! I would definitely like to come swing by again after a workout to try some of their healthy dishes, including salads, sandwiches, and you can make anything a wrap!
