Stopped here today for a late lunch with my boyfriend. Although I'd read more than a few so-so reviews, this was the most packed out restaurant on Main Street so I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Let me start by saying it wasn't a bad experience but it certainly didn't exceed my expectations. The food was good, but a bit bland in my opinion. My boyfriend ordered the L.A. chicken sandwich with fries which was pretty average. Tasted like a less rich version of a chicken parm to be honest. I ordered myself a cocktail (the Hugo Spritz) and one of their specials - the wild Montauk cod. The drink was just okay - menu said it was Prosecco with a splash of elderberry liquor and mint. Really tasted like a tall glass of Prosecco mixed with seltzer. The cod was a nice cut of fish but very bland. It was served baked and topped with crabmeat and a lemon butter sauce with sides of mashed potatoes and veggies. Even after adding salt and pepper I found myself wishing I'd ordered an extra side of sauce as it was the most flavorful thing on the plate. In addition to the bland food and drink, the wait time was unexpectedly long. I will say they were pretty busy when we arrived but we didn't have to wait for a table. They had a beautiful courtyard for outdoor dining. I popped inside to use the restroom and the bar was pretty packed with patrons watching the soccer game. Still, it did not explain the longer than usual wait times. I may give this spot one more try since I live in the area and saw some other yummy looking menu items but I really hope it's improvement to this visit. read more

Saturday 8/29 the entered the place not at all greeted by the bartender politely considering their wa no other customers - bottom line I asked for a French Martini asked her if she has the ingredients she replied YES - when it came it was far from a French Martini when i told her their was something wrong she was so rude and asked whats worng and then told me to order another drink - by far i have never been treated this way however the waitress came over and asked me to taste it and now it tasted like a frenc martini and she shared that she left out the pineapple Juice - she of requested the manager but i did not but for sure will not be returning for any more bartender abuse.. read more

Food was tasty and came out quickly. I got the filet tidbits. They were tender and had a mid favor from the marinade. Horseradish sauce was superb. My husband got the crab stuffed cod. He said it was excellent. High praise from a man very particular about fish freshness. The service was excellent too. Quinn was friendly and polite. She made sure we had everything we needed. Their key lime pie was pretty good but that small portion for $12 was robbery, no price listed on the dessert menu. The sliced steak sandwich was decent, but still somewhat bland. Cheeseburger was average. Linguine clams was pretty bland and portions were small. Clams were good. Service: Bella served us, and we didn't have any issues. Thank you. Friday, July 24th, 2026 - The weather was the only thing perfect about dinner. I can say without a doubt, one of the top three worst meals. Truly embarrassed for them. The Ahi Tuna had the texture of a Croc, and I suspect the Croc might taste better. The chicken Milanese, I'm just gonna shake my head. Pound out the chicken!!!!! We ordered two drinks, a coke and margarita, more than a half hour to get said drinks. Oh, and stale Garlic bread to appease us while eating more than 30 minutes for drinks is one for the books. Seriously! Safe to say, I should have stuck with my first idea for dinner, pizza! Even when pizza is bad, it's still pretty good. Do better! read more

The atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for; laid back and relaxing. There is a man playing guitar and singing great songs for background music and at a perfect volume. Raw Oysters, This review was from a few months ago when they had their annual shut down the street fair with Antique cars and live music. I think it was called family fun night. I didn't hang out. Hea guys really! I've been coming here for years. I ordered half dozen Oysters $1.50 after 3:00. I sat outside what are the great side babe blood orange ambition brew that quenched my thirst. My Oysters came out on a bed of crushed ice with a slice of lemon and red sauce. Right away I noticed my oysters were smaller than the shell itself I picked it up and noticed my shell was cold but when I bit into it the Oyster it was warm with no oyster liquor. Did I just eat canned Oysters. Now I'm pissed I call my waiter and told him not to serve me this ever. He offered to redo my order. He came out with four oysters in a Moat. My shaved ice had melted. Clams came in a lot of tasteless liquid. You could tell it had garlic in it but it was not good. The butter was also lacking in buttery taste. The lobster tacos were tasty but they were extremely tiny (2 inches long) and just not worth the price for what you got. We weren't thrilled with this place and will go elsewhere next time. First off me and my girlfriend and her friend sat down on a fine night. It was pretty empty but here and there some folks gathered round for a nice feast. We decided to sit indoors and as drink starters we got Shirley temples and I got a lemonade. The Shirley temples were good I tried my girlfriends but the lemonade was not it guys, way too sour and left me honestly really disappointed because I wanted something good to go with my wings which were my meal because them by themselves are a lot. My girlfriend and her friend both got chicken tenders which were good they said one got normal fries and my girlfriend got the truffles fries which were really nice I tried them, not my favorite side dish but she liked them a lot. I enjoyed the wings with a side of buffalo sauce and blue cheese really good overall, crispy, tasty, and savory. The chicken tenders were good but I love wings more and I enjoyed the meal. Another great lunch at Rockinfish today. I simply don't understand the negative reviews. Service is always spot on and friendly. And every entree over the years has been exceptional. Today - the whole flounder, prepared simply with sea salt, lemon, a side of mashed and broccoli was tasty and fresh. And the Red Snapper with clams and shrimp over linguini was exceptional. My wife and I ordered dinner food from the menu and it was pricey. I ordered Fish and chip and for the price of $30 I thought I would get fresh fried battered fish. They gave me 2 pieces of small fried fish that looks like Gortons Battered Fish from frozen box and French fries and a sweet Cole slaw in a small plastic cup. It was awful. My wife had Baked Clams mainly made of bread crumbs and little bits of mince clams. She said that it was outrageous that they $25 for 5 lousy baked clams. Honestly it felt like the food was prepared several days ago. The person I went with only ate half their lunch had a hair in their drink and became violently ill about an hour later. Had a great late lunch here with drinks, truffle fries, oysters, and some cool mini-tacos. It was cooler so we ate indoors and my girlfriend and I got a Prosecco and a nice huckleberry spritzer from an Idaho winery named Ste Chapelle. We had the Parmesan broiled oysters (really good!), truffle fries with basil aioli, and mini lobster tacos. The lobster tacos were a little too small in my opinion and the Thai chili sauce was a little too overpowering, or at least there was too much sauce on them. On Main Street is a restaurant that presents itself with that old traditional beauty of the town. The inside dining room and bar area are lined in the old brick building atmosphere of the early times of Long Island. The floors are wood floors with old traditional glass windows. There also stylish chandeliers throughout the inside dining room and bar that add to its ambience. Since we were being careful with the pandemic still being a concern, we dinned for lunch on their side outdoor patio. I noticed they had a variety of beers that included some IPA's from a neighboring microbrewery. I chose for the second time a local IPA. Since this was the second time in one week that I was having lunch at this restaurant, I decided to choose just appetizers; the tuna & fish fried tacos were my choices. The fish Tacos were delicious. The cheddar cheese, black beans, and spicy guacamole were the perfect dressing to complete the fried fish taco. The tuna roll had ahi tuna on the outside with crabmeat salad on the inside.
