We were so happy to have a new option for eating out in Windsor, but while the space is fantastic, we were disappointed in the food. Good things first--nice portion sizes, excellent presentation, fresh ingredients, helpful, efficient service. We started with the deviled egg appetizer. For $1.50 for a half egg, I expected something out of this world, but my mom's deviled eggs made for the church potluck are much better. The egg had no piquancy or pizazz. It was quite bland. We followed that with the recommended Brussel sprouts, one of our favorite foods. Instead of receiving a nicely caramelized sprout with just a little texture left, we received blackened sprouts that tasted like salty ash paper. The accompanying sauce again had no subtlety or real flavor. The olive mix was great, however. Moving on to salads, the arugula salad was beautiful and fresh, but the dressing lacked flare. The cod soup tastes like...fish in a thin milk broth. It could have been so much better with just a few additional spices, but it was just really fishy. The burger was well cooked to the specified temp, and the fries are just like my mom makes--fresh potatoes not overcooked. It matched but did not exceed any gourmet burger place around here. The pizzas look fabulous, so we will return another day to try those. The chef at Chimney Park Bistro is very good. I think for the prices and the expectations at The Hearth, I hope to see some upping of their cooking game here. read more

What a gem for a small town in northern Colorado. Being inside, I felt like I was in a big city atmosphere. Very modern and cool aesthetic! Their craft beer selection was also very good. We had the molten brie which could have been heated just a little bit more but was satisfying. We had two pizzas: the Al Pastor and the Sausage. Sausage was everyone's favorite but the other was fantastic as well. Service was excellent, food was also very good. read more

New favorite pizza place! Good food, friendly service, you have to take the stairs up, and you can watch them oven fire your pie. Recommend the arugula salad and the pizza of the day; if you have a sweet tooth the Apple pop over was the winning sweet for our table. I really enjoyed visiting and eating at the Hearth until the food started coming out over cooked and cold numerous times. It seems the kitchen staff have no idea what they are doing and we've grown tired of it. The owner is completely rude and arrogant. Just check out some of the responses to others' reviews. What kind of self-respecting "Chef" and business owner would respond to guest complaints this way? Jason - You seriously need a wake up call. Looking forward to the place next door to open up. So, I want to give this a 4 or 5 because I thought the atmosphere and the beer/food were terrific. I would go back for both of those reasons. However, I thought the staff attitude was horrible! The hostess was "put off" that we didn't have a reservation (just wanted to sit at the bar) and one (not both) of the bartenders was completely snappy, a bit on the diva side. I saw him snap at least two customers. Not cool. Puts a bad taste in your mouth even if atmosphere FANTASTIC and food good. Came here for my birthday celebration, after hearing rave reviews, and they still exceeded all expectations! Leaving full and happy AND with leftovers! Wow! Check your bill. I was over charged by $12 plus tax. The Pinot was on the menu for $9. I was charged $12 per glass. (3x). When I questioned the waitress, she couldn't look me in the eye (hmmmm). The owner came out and said, "Oops sorry" changed the wine, but not the menu. Really? As a business owner myself, I know exactly what my items cost and exact what I charge my consumers. I think, this is a horrible excuse and business practice. I call "BS!" As a result, I'm writing this review, to warn the public to check your bill, if you choose to go to this restaurant. Great atmosphere with the open oven where the pizzas are baked. The menu has some variety and the deviled eggs with prosciutto are worth every penny. We sat on the patio last 4th of July and had a great view of Windsor's firework show. Staff is generally friendly and can recommend food and drinks. My husband and I were excited to have another place in Windsor to dine so we don't have to drive to Loveland, Ft Collins or Greeley. However, we tried two times to eat at the Hearth, and both times the hostess (who needs a lesson in treating potential customers with grace), told us we would need a reservation (mind you the bars were open and only two tables had patrons.) On our third attempt just to have drinks at 4 on a Friday at the bar, same treatment, reservation request and same hostess. After the second time being turned away, I wrote directly to the Hearth, so they could explain or respond, they have not. So that is why this Yelp review is being written. Suggestion, this is Windsor Colorado not Beverly Hills, that's why people move here. If you want to attract that type, maybe start a restaurant in California. Had a reservation with friends at 6:30. We got in a seated right away. Went a bit downhill from there. We ordered and waited. Got our 1 splash of drinks and then didn't see much of the waitress for an hour. We were there a total of 2 hours. They brought out our food in shifts. One person would get their food and then the rest of us would wait another 15-20 minutes before the next person would get their entree. The food was pretty tasty but not worth the wait. It's a great concept, but their service leaves something to be desired and forget getting a refill on your drink without having to chase after a waitress! read more

We have been regulars at the Hearth for the last few years. Sometimes going several times a month either for drinks on the patio or dinner. This was my fiancé's most favorite place to eat in town! The service was always great and the food was spot on. However, the last several visits have been a complete 180 from what we've been used to. Initially it started with the appetizers not being prepared well, specifically the Brussel sprouts which were always spot on. Then the entree's became a disaster. We learned that a new sous chef was hired and so that helped explain some of the mishaps. Then we got to have a run in with the less than professional manager during another experience. We went in one evening for dinner and our waitress failed to tell us after delivering our apps that the kitchen would be closing soon. When we asked if we could order dinner we were told the kitchen was closed. With all of our hungry kids we asked to speak to the manager who was clearly irritated and instead of making us feel like we mattered as a customer made us feel terrible for even asking to speak to him. Exceptionally short and rude with us. After that we gave the Hearth a break for awhile until recently. As we entered the restaurant a horrible smell permeated the building so we sat outside to avoid the smell. The apps were good and seemed to be back on track. The service again was slow and we were thanked many times for our patience as our waiter knew things were taking exceptionally long. Two of the three entree's were wonderful but the third was so incredibly salty you couldn't eat it. We are so disappointed with the inconsistency and issues we've had. We are going to be taking a break from this place for awhile in hopes the owners can get control. I will say the wait staff that's been there for the last few years is always pleasant and tries to make the best out of things beyond their control. When I arrived I had to deal with a 40 minute wait, and on top of that I waited half an hour for my food, which is pretty average for any restaurant. However when I received my food it was undercooked, and after it was taken back to be cook again it was still a little undercooked. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a decent meal. read more

Four of us had dinner at Hearth last Monday night. The atmosphere and the food were great. We had steak tartare (first time for me and it was amazing!) and pizzas (2 ppl shared one and we were full). Good wine, beer and cocktail list. The server was not so great. I'm not sure what the issue was. It was busy but that was no excuse to ignore half of our table when coming to check on us. He had little knowledge of food and beverage menu. I will go back because I would like to try more of the menu. One bad server will not deter me :) read more

The Hearth is one of Windsor's best upscale Urban environments though I've been here twice now and am only really impressed with the atmosphere and concept and have not enjoyed the food as much as one should in a restaurant like this. I am giving this establishment three stars because of the management and outline of this business though in terms of food I would only rate this 2 or less Stars. I really do enjoy the coordination and effectiveness of the team that they have put together as the service is good in the coordination between the many facets of their operation. The pizza lacks flavor with the exception of the charring on the crust from their oven and the fish and chips is only okay. The salmon appetizer is actually rather tasty the other portion is rather small for $12. All in all this is a place one should experience given the impressive ambience though I do not recommend if you are seeking fine cuisine. read more

Last night we took advantage of the 30 min call ahead and when we arrived we ended up waiting for over an hour for a spot in the bar (not ideal but it worked!). Why because people stayed at their tables after paying their checks for over 2 hours. The host, mangers and wait staff did an OUTSTANDING job keeping us and other patrons waiting happy. Brought us drinking, appetizers and free pizza. It got to the point where other customers went up to the table hogs and let them know they were taking money away from the waitress. Hearth gives the most excellent customer service, usually most would do carry out and walk out but the staff helped us feel welcome and kept us in the loop. I am a regular at Hearth and have always had a wonderful time and perfect food. I am hoping people start being considerate of other waiting patrons so staff doesn't have to go above and beyond to make their guests happy. Not to mention wait staff need to flip tables fast to make a decent income. Eat, drink, and move on peeps! Hearth is amazing, let everyone have a turn. read more

This visit to Hearth was a bit disappointing compared to past visits. The hostess said, "Let me go get a table set up for you." Then she proceeded to help about six new groups that walked in and clearly forgot about us. They were not that busy, we got there fairly early on Mother's Day night. Then after we were finally seated, about 10 minutes later the waiter took way too long to bring us any water or take our drink order. The rest of the night got better, except the Caesar salad left a lot to be desired. The bacon and date pizza was delicious. The patio is a bit loud with all of the traffic, I think they could do something with the railing to help with that. read more

Enjoyed a great dinner at the Hearth Restaurant and Pub tonight! The pizza was perfect, and my husband said that the fish & chips were the best he had ever had - obviously NOT frozen! We also tried the Caesar salad and were thrilled that it wasn't overdressed and plentiful! We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and checked backed often. Although the restaurant was crowded, it was easy to have a conversation and actually hear what the other person was saying - a rarity in today's excessively noisy restaurants. Chef Jason Shaeffer has created a beautiful space with great ambiance, and the prices are great for a local restaurant with fresh ingredients! We will certainly be back! read more
