After my husband, again, sent them the dimensions & asked for updates, they completely ghosted him after multiple times of him reaching out via phone, email & text. Finally, I got fed up, since my daughter was supposed to have her pool birthday party that weekend, and left them a voice message voicing my frustration with their complete lack of update or communication & they reached out, not even 10 minutes after my message, VIA TEXT to me & VIA EMAIL to my husband, stating my tone & language (didn't even cuss them out) was 'unprofessional' and they would be refunding our deposit & 'wish us the best'. (Have yet to receive the deposit btw & it has been over the 3-5 business days they said it would take) They breached contract, left us on read with nothing to work off, & ruined my daughters birthday over their incompetence & zero follow thru. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

With no way to contact our pool builder and with guests for the holiday, I threw up a question in a pool owners group on FB. I got lots of sympathy but no help until Robb saw my plea. If you're looking for a pool builder in Robb's area, I wouldn't look any further. This man let me call him multiple times, send him pictures and texts, he asked the right questions and knew the answers and how to explain everything to a couple of very new pool owners. He even sent us a video that explained a process and followed up at the end, saying, "I want to hear that it's working." How kind is that? I just sent out a text saying the pool is open! Thank you, Robb, for your kindness in reaching out to this couple in Missouri! If Robb's this responsive helping a complete stranger, I'd feel very good about having him as my pool builder.

After seeing the difference in how the pool was opened for the same price (around $400), we now want to report what a fantastic job Boneck's Professional Pool Builders was doing for the past 15 years. 1) Bonecks takes the tarp off, folds it, and puts it back in the bag. Brinkmanns left it lying in a pile on the pool deck. 2) Bonecks vacuums the worst of the bacteria build-up out of the pool and into the yard drain so they need less chemicals to restore the water. After they leave, my pool looks great within 48 hours and I just need to add a few pucks to the chlorinator. Typically one backflush the day after opening, clears the pressure build up (typically about a 5 unit increase) and the filter works as normal from there. Brinkmanns does not do this. All of the bacteria must cycle through the filter. The pressure was up 10 units within 3 hours and was back up 10 units by the next morning. I had to back flush at least once every day for a week to keep the pump from being damaged. It took two full weeks to get the pool to look normal again. I spent about $75 in extra chemicals after the opening (compared to Bonecks) to get the pool into the same shape as normal. 3) Bonecks adds all chemicals through the skimmer basket so the liner doesn't get damaged by harsh chemicals lying on it. Brinkmanns just ripped open a packet and threw the chemicals into the pool where they made a clear imprint on the pool liner floor. This imprint is gone now but it couldn't have done the liner any good. 4) Bonecks installs the ladder, skimmer basket panel, handrail, and pool inlet nozzles (all facing slightly up so you can see the water "bubbling" when the pump is turned on). They also make sure the heater and lights are working properly. Brinkmanns installed the ladder, skimmer basket panel, handrail, and pool inlet nozzles, but the skimmer basket panel immediately fell off within an hour, the metal ladder covers (that cover the hole where the ladder is inserted into the pool deck) were left 8 inches off the ground, and the pool inlet nozzles were all turned down so you can't see if the pump is running. Just plain sloppy work. They also did not check the lights or the heater and actually broke the heater control panel cover off somehow. They failed to tell me about this, and when I went to check the heater, they had taped it back on with black electrical tape. This tape needed to be peeled off so I could lift the cover to check the heater control panel behind it. I had to fix the heater control panel cover myself. 5) Bonecks lets you know that they will be coming in the morning or afternoon, and they have always arrived within the designated time (and never late in the afternoon). It takes them about two hours to open the pool. Brinkmanns said they would be there at 8am and never showed up until 5:30! Brinkmanns was there less than one hour. They left the place a complete mess so my entire evening was ruined getting things (except the water quality of course) back to the way Bonecks would have left it had they done the job. The job Bonecks does opening the pool is SO MUCH BETTER than Brinkmanns and the price is the same. Based on this experience, I would be surprised if you can find a better quality job at a better price. Bonecks is the company to use if at all possible!
