Bagels here, but a paltry selection and too expensive. Gramercy Bagels is yet another locally owned bagel place. It's located in Gramercy of course, at the corner of Gramercy Park and Third Avenue. Finding it shouldn't be a problem. Ordering and receiving what it is you want will be though. Comfortable looking inside. It also has a few tables outside. They look like a basic setup. Order a bagel. Then order spreads and toppings. Problem is, they're out of everything. The last time here they didn't have any poppyseed or sesame. Also the bagels are just okay, and they're too expensive to just be okay. It's about $6 for a bagel with a spread. They have some good spreads though. I like the flavors of tofu vegan cream cheese. There's many other places besides this to get it though so why come here. It overall is pretty average. Many things here you can find in other places. Came here a few months back and had a great expereince. The staff is friendly and quick which makes this a great spot to come and go in the morning. The ambiance is similar to most bagel shops and there are some seats if you want to enjoy your bagel here. To be fair, I wasn't overly enthused about my bagel with tofu-based cream cheese. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate any vegan option I can get but I wouldn't buy that spread personally if I had the option. There are incredible brands of vegan cream cheese such as Miyokos and Kite Hill that taste like normal cream cheese. On that note, I am thrilled to see Gramercy Bagels partner with the BEST vegan cream cheese out there, Stockeld Dreamery. Nothing against tofu but I prefer my cream cheese to have the same fermented cheese taste that "normal" cream cheese has and this is where tofu cream cheese can get weird. The Stocked brand is made with a base of fermented chickpeas and lentils and tastes great. If you're vegan or dairy-free you NEED to try it immediately! read more

One of the best cures for my emotions is a chunk of carbs, and this bagel shop did not disappoint. I must admit, I indulged in a full dairy cream cheese even though I forgot my lactaid. It was a true depression bagel, and the indigestion later on was worth it. When it comes to bagel preferences, I will always be an egg bagel stan. They are so much softer and don't scratch my mouth like other bagels tend to do. I recently had a blueberry cream cheese bagel from this shop, and it was one of the fluffiest bagels I've had in a while. I could even taste little micro chunks of real blueberries in the cream cheese. It was a small detail, but it made my experience all the more enjoyable. Well, it's a bagel I guess. Really sad that this is one of the few places around the corner from me. How did we get to two stars then? Honestly it was tough. One star for being a bagel. Half a star for no real line at all (maybe because it's terrible?) and then I rounded up because I'm feeling generous. Everything bagel - 1/5: More like a nothing bagel. The extreme lack of seasoning made me sad. So, yeah, this was not a great start. Outside is kind of hard but doesn't have that crisp-crunch bite a good bagel should have. Inside is so much dough it hurt my jaw to eat this entire monstrosity. Vegetable cream cheese - 3/5: Should have been the redemption for the bagel. It's very veggie heavy. Relatively flavorful. But the amount of schmear they put on this bagel was downright insulting. I think a place should always be on the safe side and give you more. You can always take the extra off. I barely had enough to spread a thin layer on each side -- which makes this worse given the bagel-dough-to-cream-cheese ratio happening. Whitefish salad - 3/5: It's fine. I've had worse. I've certainly had better. A little sour for my taste and also a tad dry. Price 2/5: And if everything you read wasn't enough it wasn't even inexpensive. Yes, this is Manhattan, but there are cheaper and better bagel places in the city. TL; DR: Save your money. Try Bagel Belly or Ess-a-Bagel. read more

The bagel itself is nothing to write home about, if you ask for something toasted it will come to you warm, the cream cheese and the different spreads are nothing to write home about. I've been here several times and I'm always affronted by the curt service that you get from the countermen and the cashier... You always hear a loud "NEXT!" directed to the next person online as if you're cattle waiting to be branded. Came here a couple of mornings for breakfast and coffee when I was staying in a hotel nearby. The coffee was good, bagels are pretty decent, and I'm always happy to see a few tofu cream cheese options (they had scallion, veggie, and regular). Staff is super friendly, they were a little pricey, but to be expected for the area. I will say, they seemed to be inconsistent in making my order (toasted everything with tofu scallion) - first day was exactly what I asked for, second day the bagel wasn't toasted and I don't even think it was an everything bagel. Wouldn't necessarily deter me from coming back, but I'm not sure I would make it my regular place. read more

This was all for me when I ordered at 10am. My corona bod is here for a reason but also, this was my only meal for the day due to some health complications. I'm lactose intolerant but this hit the spot (ty, lactaid and OTC enzymes). I will start with the ugly: the bagel was so stale, chewy in not the best way. They did cut mine in half all the way which I saw was a complaint from another yelper. That said I haven't had a bagel in like 2 years so I was like yeah! The caramel macchiato was just "do you want coffee with your milk" but I low-key liked it a lot. That said, I think machiatos are half milk anyway so my b. This brings me to the greatest parts....1. Delivery came under 15 minutes so really depends on time and Seamless. 2. It might have been a mistake but I have to share it: I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a roll with the egg over easy. I'm usually the type to peel the bottom bun off when I order these and either stack or just eat with the top bun, BUT....the yolk had somehow exploded into the bottom bum making an incredibly satisfying sammich.
