We shared the loaded tater tots - so good and I should have just ate these for lunch but still loved my rib plate and sides (green beans and loaded potato salad). This place is amazing! We just stumbled upon it one day. The pork cakes are a must try, and the burnt ends are very good as well. They have many different flavors of BBQ sauce to try and usually I prefer regular, but the horseradish sauce and the pineapple flavors are amazing. I don't really think you get what you pay for here. A brisket sandwich for $16 with one side. I was charged .50 extra for potato salad?! That is a rip off. I wasn't impressed with the food and definitely not the atmosphere. It seems like an off the beaten path hole on the wall would be cheaper. read more

Tried out Heavy Smoke BBQ for lunch today and we could not be happier!!! I got the burnt ends and they were amazing! Perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth meat candy! We smoke brisket at home and know how easy it is to dry out and just how few burnt ends you get from a brisket. The portion was very generous and a great value. The most tender pulled pork sandwich I've ever had! I ate the porkwich and added a side of mac n cheese. The sandwich was so delicious! The tenderness of the meat topped with coleslaw was oh so good. My brisket was hard and dry very disappointing. The turkey was pretty good and the pulled chicken just okay. Even trying my families items nothing was a superstar or to say that is so good. I definitely won't be going back but it was something new to try. read more

We visited recently after recommendation from some friends. While the young lady at the counter seemed indifferent to our presence, we were excited at the prospect of finding a new BBQ place that was close to home. We were after the pork cakes, in particular, but they were out of them. My wife got the burnt ends and I went with the pulled pork sandwich. Though the burnt ends were fattier than we were used to, I have to say that the pulled pork may have been the best I've ever tasted. Perfect level of smoke - many places overdo the smoke. We went with baked beans and mac n cheese for our sides and both were very tasty, though we would have preferred a more diverse choice of sides, especially some sort of fries instead of just the homemade chips they offer. I'm also a bit of a sweet tea snob and they've got it figured out at Heavy's, in my opinion. It's sweet but not to the point that you're thrown into diabetic shock. Other than the killer pork, the thing that sets this place above other BBQ joints that I've tried is their KILLER sauces! O M G. We're not much for horseradish but we tried all of their other sauces and they were all off the hook. I would have bought a bottle of each if they were selling them. We're going back for dinner tonight and I cant wait! Fingers crossed that they have the pork cakes and I'm thinking I need to try the ribs and that apple pie bread pudding! So far, Heavy's has supplanted Sugarfire as our go-to 'Cue Joint. We recently tried Heavy Smoke and loved it! Last weekend we had out of town guests and had a family gathering so we ordered the Pop's Plate. It has several kinds of meat including a full rack of amazing ribs, tater tots, 3 sides, and Texas toast. The menu says it feeds 6-8 people, but we had 10 adults and 5 kids and we had left overs! So much that my wife and I ate a couple of more lunches of food from it. Everyone loved everything we had and some said that they were the best ribs they ever had! My wife says she will never prepare food for a family gathering again, but will order this instead! The only thing I would do different next time is add another order of tots...they were a big hit! read more

We did a take out of the brisket plate and the 4 ribs. During the drive home the coleslaw intermingled a bit too much with the Mac and cheese. Take away the juice from the slaw and the Mac was quite good. The brisket consisted of 5 slices plus a burnt end. As for the ribs and what we were charged, $15, it needs an extra bone. The facility itself was larger than most BBQ places. We were provided 6 different sauces to try and they were very tasty. By the time we arrived they were sold out of pork steaks. Really good BBQ, but their burnt ends are way too fatty. They need to do a better job of trimming the fat. We stopped in yesterday to eat in the restaurant and got a go order of burnt ends for the weekend. The burnt ends were almost all fat and most pieces had a 1/2 inch thick piece of fat running through them. You need a little fat, but not a half inch! Also, their sides are really small for the price they charge. We will go back, but will skip the sides and burnt ends. read more

SO good!! The burnt ends were the bomb, and all of their bbq sauces were amazing. The smoked apple bbq sauce was definitely our favorite. Get the Mac n cheese and the seasoned tots, you won't be disappointed! They also have all of their trophies up on the wall which is very impressive. read more
