Wow! What great food! What great service! We were staying at the Hampton Inn. Nothing remotely close to this hotel to dine in. We traveled 8 hours from Oregon and tired. We yelped and found Hector's 1.6 miles close and so happy we did! Hector's adult son, Omar, greeted us with a smile. We just wanted carry out, he was concerned that we'd have to wait for 20 minutes. He convinced us to sit down and he would serve us our salad (a split) while we waited for the carry-out with 2 cold glasses of ice water. A huge beautiful garden salad was delivered to our table with two dressings, Ranch and the best Balsamic Vinaigrette I've ever had! Omar told us that the scrumptious little micro croutons upon the salad they hand make and bake every day for their salads. The tomatoes, the cucumbers, everything was super fresh, super crunchy, super tasty. Wow! Lucky us! Many selections for pizza and Omar would make it any way we wanted. We ordered the chicken barbecue pizza, we added tomatoes, and half of it with red onions. We took it to the hotel and Omar, without asking, gave us plates, plastic utensils, parmesan cheese and red peppers flakes to go. Let's not mention the two pieces of candy, and napkins to boot. Did I mention that it was a small pizza, but he decided to make it a little bit bigger? Their small is like a medium elsewhere! My husband and I loved this pizza. It was hot, every ingredient that was fresh, the crust was absolutely unbelievable, and we loved it! It was a sourdough with a lovely firm crispy texture crust. If we ever come this way again, we are going back and we are going to stay next time and eat the entire dinner in their very cute, intimate restaurant. They had a wonderful display of different wines and very good solid pours, from what I could see going on! Omar is a joy! This restaurant is a joy! The food is made with love.

The salad was fenomenal and the wings were good but the could use a little more crispy and the pizza was good but the vegetables needed more cooking time in my opinion, but the food was good.

Not much to say except for pizza was mediocre. I was excited to eat here since I tried it once before a few years ago and it was really good. However, this time around was nothing special. Cashier wasn't very friendly and my pizza wasn't piping hot like I like it to be. Our salad was good, a little soggy since they put the dressing on it for you. The inside seemed clean and even though it's a little small, there is a decent amount of seating. Might check them out again in the future in hopes to update my review.

Went here last Sunday. We were coming home from Russian River and we were looking for a pizza spot. We are unfamiliar with Petaluma, but after looking at several spots online and reading reviews, I decided to give this one a shot. So glad I did!! Everything was fantastic!! We ordered two pizzas and both were cooked perfectly. Nice crisp to it but not overcooked. Very balanced ingredients which I appreciate so much. I hate it when a pizza has too much of one thing like cheese or sauce. If a person wants extra on something they can ask for it. This place does it right! The sourdough crust is also quite delicious. We ordered the Gorgonzola salad and that was also wonderful. I loved how they sliced the tomatoes nice and thin. I mean what's up with restaurants that give you quarter wedges of tomatoes? I despise that. Nobody should be doing that unless you are maybe ordering a tomato salad. But even a tomato salad should have bite-size pieces of tomatoes. The balsamic vinaigrette that came with this salad was lovely. The restaurant itself was small but clean. We did notice there was a cute little patio area outside. It had a few tables as well as a water fountain and actual grape vines! I loved the plates they give you to eat with. Adorable. I also loved how the kitchen staff were all cleanly dressed in yellow shirts and kitchen pants. Lookin sharp! All these little touches made the restaurant so charming. I only feel sad this restaurant is a bit far away from us because this is the exact type of spot that we would be regulars at. The good news is that Petaluma is on our way home when we visit the River. So there will be more opportunities. Thank you again so much for the wonderful food and hospitality. Bravo

highly recommend this local pizza spot in petaluma if you're in the area!! we got a box of combination pizza right before closing and the staff were very friendly. the pizza was also the best combo pizza i've had in a while! i intended to eat 1-2 slices and we ended up killing the box in one sitting. would definitely come back for more :)

Best Pizza I've ever had. Their delicious, handmade sourdough crust w/their signature toppings is incredible. Their pastas are delicious as well. The whole family runs the their business & truly great & super friendly, nice & genuine family. When it's Pizza night, it's always HECTORS PIZZA for us. read more

We got hooked on their pizza when we lived in Petaluma briefly. Now when we drive past the city I always request to stop and grab one to go. Their pizza sauce and sourdough crust is what makes it so memorable. read more

Pizza was great and they were friendly so that part would have given them four stars if everything else was good. That being said, $36 for a large vegetarian pizza is pretty damn expensive for what I got. Again, nice people and great tasting pizza but this place is clearly overpriced. read more

This is my favorite pizza place in petaluma. Their dough is very good and they have a great selection of signature pizzas. Be prepared to wait a long time for your pizza though, anywhere from 45 minutes for pickup (which is not bad) to actually 2.5 hours for delivery. read more

My all time favorite pizza place! I will not go anywhere else in town for pizza. Not many pizza places make sourdough crust, but Hector's does and it's so good! I've ordered everything on their menu, from their pizza, to their garlic cheese bread(omg so yummy) to their spinach salad. You can tell everything is made with high quality ingredients and is always consistent. They have some really unique pizzas on their menu, like Brie and sun dried tomatoes or pico de gallo pizza! The staff is friendly and efficient, always providing great service. I can't speak highly enough about how much I love this pizza restaurant! read more

Easily the BEST pizza I have had short of Tony's in the city since moving to California! I love pizza, I have a t-shirt that says "Pizza is my Spirit Animal", I have a pizza nightlight and I have pizza oven mitts...I am also health conscious so if I am going to eat pizza it better be damn good!! We moved to Petaluma 3 years ago from Moss Beach (pizza desert), we have tried various other local pizza places with mediocre luck, it was time for my once a month slice so I chose Hectors and I am so glad I did! I ordered a large pizza with a ton of veggies and sausage, the crust is amazing, it held up against all the toppings, I can't stress how good the crust is...did I mention THE CRUST is amazing?? The staff is so friendly and I was offered a drink on the house while I waited for our pizza, cute interior with a courtyard and fountain. The consensus from the family is unanimous, Hectors Pizza is the pizza we buy from now on! read more

Lack of quality in the ingredients make the pizza barely edible, and the items are the menu are pretty pricey. They also don't seem to care about customer service :( as they don't have items prepared in time for take out, and seemed not to care about the back up of customer orders. read more

Best pizza everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Can't go wrong with ordering anything from here. I absolutely love it. Every time i drive home- 1/2 pep & 1/2 veggi comes to my door steaming. The dough is soft on the inside but crispy on the outside and it all just melts in your mouth (sour dough is the best). It's so fresh I feel like I'm eating a farmers market pizza. I love it. If you go anywhere else, i feel bad for you. read more

We are vacationing in the area and were looking for a good pizza. Coming from the east we were hoping that the pizza was as good as we could get at home. OMG this pizza is awesome ! We ordered a mushroom sausage green onion. The sourdough crust was too die for. Nice family owned business. If you are in Petaluma eat where the locals eat . Go to Hectors. You will love it . read more

This is the best pizza in town. My husband and I are sitting at home eating a fresh, hot, amazing vegetarian pizza loaded with fresh veggies (with added anchovies) and a delicious crispy, chewy sourdough crust. They even "blot" the excess grease! We are musing about how lucky we are to have such a great pizza delivery place right near our house. We are also eating one of their fresh house salads (with ranch) and discussing how cold, crispy and fresh it is and there's not a single wilted or funky leaf in the bunch. Topped with sourdough croutons, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, olives and peperoncini. 100% fabulous, 100% consistent. Truly the best pizza in town. read more

This is such a great pizza place. We have always gotten take out but they now have fixed up the inside and added a outside area. Going to try it on a nice night. LOVE Hector. I met the owner once, he was a soft spoken guy real laid back and just had a goood vibe. If he is making the pizza I get why its good have this theory about food. People who love to cook, Make the best food. Try the BBq chicken Pizza gluten free option is AWESOME . Delivery time is slow but i think they are just slammed with high demand read more

Pizza is pretty good but we went to dine in and the service was really bad. We ordered bruschetta, wings, soup and pizza. The wings seemed like they were uncooked and not crisp at all, the sauce was not up to par. Overall, I would order the pizza but stay away from dining in as it took over a half an hour just for soup.. Suggestion might be to have a server there that only serves rather than a guy or gal that's doing everything... read more

Gluten free pizza was excellent. That's rarely true for a pizza. Hawaiian pizza was excellent as was the salami pizza. We also got the garlic bread and hot wings. They were good, too. This was our first visit and we will certainly go back again. We ate inside the restaurant but noticed they do many deliveries. read more

This is the Pie right here! Don't buy corporate chain pizza. Family owned and operated (Hector is a real Chef,worked in high end restaurants) Priced right. Not too thin or greasy, not too thick and filling. Well balanced sauce to cheese ratio, lots of sauce but not dripping off. Good quality ingredients. Loved my sausage xl . Excellent pizza! I was visiting my daughter and we decided to go here for lunch. It was wonderful in all respects. Fresh tasty ingredients, different and healthy topping choices, and very inexpensive beer by the pitcher. It is a family operated business, and they clearly care about making their patrons happy. I was right. Nice full parking lot. Situated right next to a Whole Foods (for parking reference!).... It's tiny inside, but they've made good use of a few low seated tables, high chair style, and so forth. There's multiple brews on tap, but we opted not to drink this time. The menu was the crowning glory. I want to start by mentioning a little factoid about myself... I feel like I am the 1 percent that doesn't like traditional style whole milk mozzarella. I can't stand it. Feels like gum in my mouth. Of course, any time I go out for pizza.... I seem like the weirdo that goes against the grain requesting ANY type of cheese other than trad. mozz.... ----- But here? They have 4 different mozzarella options. 4!!!!!!!!!! Their wine selection has room for improvement, but they are known as a tap house so it's understandable. The service was attentive and the facilities were clean and modern. We were greeted and seated pretty quickly. The server got us drinks as soon as we sat down. It was quaint, and clean. Friendly atmosphere. We ordered a large Italian salad to share, and a large combination pizza. The salad was fresh and it was good. I love salad. Our pizza came pretty quickly and was delicious. The crust is thick. I knew it would be. I think I prefer a thin crust. Other than my preference the pizza was delicious from the stuffed crust to the delicious toppings and the sauce was perfect, not too much not too little. I wasn't disappointed! The pasties were absolutely delicious, and the coffee was top tier! I'm never in Petaluma, so I'm glad I stopped by and grabbed some goodies. The food here is the main reason I come. The happy hour is great for a little lower costs on a few of their food items. We love ordering some meatballs, a salad, and one of their pizzas. The pizza we had was their Green Goddess and it was delicious! I also ordered their fresh baked sourdough with butter and it's one of the most comforting foods to me. I also got their Seafood Pasta, which reminds me of my East coast, Italian roots. The Italian sausage in the dish works beautifully with the assortment of perfectly cooked seafood and pasta. The food was so good that I would gladly make the drive from San Francisco to Petaluma just to eat here again. The barbecue was outstanding, but the real surprise was the peach tres leches cake. WOW. It was incredible and an absolute game changer. Moist, flavorful, and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and every bite was worth it. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. If you're anywhere near Petaluma and love great barbecue, do yourself a favor and stop here. The host gave us menus and explained that they were out of the Parker House rolls and one of the beef entrees which was replaced with lamb shanks. when asked about the soup de jour, I was told they only had 2 bowls left. They did, however , offer beef Wellington which was not on the menu. We waited 15-20 minutes for the waiter to take our order. we had not been asked about beverages or starters either. In a word, the service was very slow. that being said, our waiter was congenial. And all the food we ordered was delicious. we ordered the house fried potatoes for a starter. They were delicious but the serving was pretty small. What seemed odd to us was that the potatoes that were served as a side with the hamburgers were not the same as what was served as the starter. The starter was clearly made from fresh cut porates and were well seasoned. the potatoes with the entree seemed like run of the mill food service fries. The beet salad and entrees were also very tasty. however, we asked for the mustard aioli on the side with the hamburgers but that's not what we got. For dessert we ordered the milk chocolate mousse and the crème boule. They were okay but nothing extraordinary . Given all the outstanding restaurants to choose from in Sonoma County, think it's unlikely we will go back.

Moving onto the main entrees: the Lamb Rigatoni was served with al dente pasta in a light lemony cream sauce that combined shredded lamb shank with green peas. Was quite tasty and it was a nice change of pace from eating pasta with beef bolognese . The other entree was the Beef Wellington and it was rich ; the filet was cooked perfectly! We enjoyed every bite of this superb dish. Our meal ended with the chocolate mousse and the panna cotta which were equally delicious! Overall , we had a spectacular meal and can't wait to go back and try the bijou burger and other menu items.

Wow! what a find... I was skeptical at first to go in and try it out... I don't know if its the name or what-- but we were very pleasantly surprised! this pizza is crazy good... the pizza is hand tossed, made to order- I love the texture of a good pizza crust- it crisp on the edges, airy, never soggy... they hit the nail on the head. We love the modern style toppings- they also have a several vegetarian combinations that are really good- they are also more service-oriented and accommodating than I expected them to be.
