    Caesar salad with extra anchovies
    Shannon L.

Changed our dinner plans because as we walked by this place smelled amazing! Glad my friend and I ate dinner here. We were greeted right away and they found a table for us quickly too. Service is friendly and very helpful! Caesar salad with extra anchovies was tossed and dressed to perfection. Cheese tortellini soup was put together fresh, eggplant parm was fantastic and so was the gnocchi with meat sauce. Fyi you can choose your own sauce. I highly recommend Trattoria Roma.

Table bread was hard and cold. Didn't like the bread they bring. Butter was hard. Service 5 out of 10. Could improve. Food 6 out of 10. Waitress will talk about you, be careful .

Delightfully satisfying meal. Warm & friendly staff. Small, crowded & lively dining room. The tables are a little too close together. Burrata is delicious. The sweet balsamic vinegar balances the bite of the arugula. The slices of prosciutto are smooth. Salty olives round out the flavor combo. Chicken Marsala is a saucy treat. Way above average when compared to this dish made by other less talented restaurant cooks who labor in other restaurants. This is not a sweet sauce from a cheap Marsala wine. The creaminess and mushrooms are a nice balance of earthiness and rich finesse. Tiramisu. House made. Really good. Satin pillow soft. My companion said it was the best tiramisu that she has ever had in the USA. Even the Lavazza de-caf espresso was flavorful without acid bite. No foamy crema floating on top of the coffee, tasted like a strong cup of coffee but that is forgiven because how happy the meal made me. Not cheap eats, but given the very generous portion sizes of the main courses, the value is good. Recommended!

We went in and the place wasn't busy, there were only a couple people at the bar area watching the 49ers game. Our waiter was very accommodating and nice which I always appreciate. The food was pretty tasty and so was the wine. The only thing I would say is that it's a bit pricey for what it is, I alive to add chicken to my pasta if was an extra $6. The portions were also pretty okay! Not my number one place to go to but I would stop by if I was around.

Come here once every few months and the food and service is always great. Not many good Italian places in the area, but this one definitely stands out. Bruschetta and pesto gnocchi are must haves.

I didn't do this for you immediately, but I remember the food was fabulous and I enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant as well. I would return it again.

Got the focaccia bread and for entrees I got bolognese and my wife got the pesto spaghetti with the GF rummo noodles. The bread was tasty and a big portion! My wife enjoyed her pesto spaghetti and I enjoyed my bolognese, however, the bolognese was very spicy. I didn't see any mention of chili flakes on the menu and I never send food back unless it's undercooked or the wrong meal. I ate it but boy it was spicy! A quick look at some other reviews showed me others have complained about the spicy bolognese. Bolognese is not normally spicy so it's definitely a bold choice of this restaurant to throw those in without warning. So, BE AWARE of that!! I'm still giving 5 stars because our server was super friendly, the restaurant was clean, comfy, and great location. And our food was tasty! Definitely will return at some point and just ask for no chili flakes.

We started with a Cappelletti Spritz (basically an Aperol spritz but not Aperol, and I kind of liked it better), some olives, meatballs, and the burrata toast. All were delicious! For our mains, we had the Bolognese (one with burrata and one without) and the spaghetti with Sunday Red. They made it a point to mention several times that the Bolognese had nutmeg in the sauce (NOT cinnamon as someone else posted. That would be very different.) and made sure it was okay with us. When the Bolognese came out, we discovered that they had red pepper flakes on them. My son doesn't like spicy, so we had them make another one without (took only a few minutes and we brought the other one home). It was delicious and you can definitely taste the nutmeg. We're happy we have another order! Everything was amazing. The portions were plenty. We didn't even have room for dessert and I kind of wanted that olive oil cake! Can't wait to come back.

Anchovy pasta had good flavor and fortunately wasn't too salty, as anchovy pastas tend to run the risk of. But the bottom of the bowl had about a 1/3 cup of oil left. Basically so much oil that the sauce had separated. It was off-putting. I felt like it was some kind of college student takeout food. Which is fine, just price it accordingly. IMO this is too pricey for what you get. And not worth the calories.

My husband and I decided to give this spot a try after getting many rave reviews not only on yelp but on Eater SF (or maybe it was SFGate?). Anyway, we arrived around an hour before close, most places in this area close at 9pm btw. We were greeted by the host who walked in from near the kitchen area. We decided to sit outdoors since the weather was pleasant. We found a table for two near the projector showing a muted black and white film on the brick wall. The chairs had blankets over them just in case it gets chilly at night. It was very thoughtful. I decided to order their special 3 course meal including a white wine ($45!). It was like they had their own restaurant week specials like SF but I don't believe that exists in Marin. The 3 course meal included a beet salad, pasta (it was the screw shaped kind) with Bolognese and a tiramisu which was my fav of all 3. The white wine was a bit on the sweet side. My husband had the pappardelle pasta with oxtail. That was a treat! I liked his dish more than mine but all of it was so much we had to take half home! The complimentary focaccia really pushed us over the edge. I would definitely come back to try their pizzas!
