A neighborhood gem that has been badly needed, Heights 167 is a taste of what my husband and I have been missing...Latin food. The pernil met my Cuban-American husband's high standards. The ropa vieja in the copas Cubanas was as good as anything I've tasted in Miami or Union City, and the salmon was generous and perfectly blackened and seasoned. The maduros were not drowning in grease as I have seen too many times. Perfectly done. And the queso fundido was super tasty. As good as the food is, it may be the owner, Eric, his obvious love for his place and concern for his customers that brings us back. We hope to be regulars as long as our diet permits! Simply incredible! My bf and I have been wanting to go here since hearing about it and I definitely wish we had gone sooner because it was delicious. We had the chicken empanadas, papas rellenas, and birria eggrolls for appetizers all of which were great! The magic green sauce was so good I would put it on anything. We shared the picanha and shrimp for dinner and every single thing on the plate was amazing. The fresh salsa and chimichurri sauce were the freshest and best I've ever tasted and you could cut the meat with a fork. The yucca fries were also such a nice touch! We loved the rice and beans served with the shrimp as well. Perhaps the best part of the evening was the amazing service from Eric and his wait staff. Our server was so sweet and attentive despite having several tables to tend to. We were so touched by Eric's story and inspiration for Heights 167 and all of that came through in the food. My bf and I agreed that the picanha may have been the best meal we've ever had. We had an amazing dinner here - I wish I lived closer to this place! The owner was very knowledgeable about gluten free options and helped to walk us through the menu. We ended up ordering the Peruvian shrimp, Pernil, and the Birria platter, all of which was super authentic and delicious. Wonderful meal at Heights 167. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Had the shrimp in plantain cups, short rib egg rolls and heights beef platter. Everything was delicious. They had an au jus dipping sauce and the magic green sauce were amazing. Fresh herbs. Seasonings were different than I'd ever had and I loved it. They even went out of their way so I could take my leftover sauces home. Will return! read more

WOW! This place is fantastic! This is a 5 STAR restaurant in a cozy, small little mall that is tough to find and WORTH THE EFFORT! Google Maps took us to its front door but the restaurant looks like a tiny subway sandwich shop and there were only two other people eating and it was our first time and I was leery. The waiter was watching the tv and hopped up when we came in and he was really nice but still...so I asked the couple "How's the food?" and the female customer, with her mouth stuffed full, moaned with ecstasy "sooooo good!" And it was! We had the empanadas which were hot, fresh and delicious. We had both the chicken and the beef. We had the steak Picanha which was superb. Cut it with a fork! Even the salad was crisp, fresh and delicious. We also had the Heights Birria Platter which had the best brisket (and incredibly tender) ever with two sauces and both were excellent. This place needs to be on television so people can find out about this terrific hidden gem that is just wonderful! Great service, attentive, fun, polite but not intrusive! There is no ambiance, unless picnic tables are your thing. The service could be better if they had some staff. There was only one person on a very busy Sunday on the Jersey Shore for dinner. There were many things on the menu that could not prepare, out of stock I'm assuming. When we finally got what we had to settle on, it really wasn't what we expected. My family and I had an excellent meal here yesterday afternoon. We enjoyed chicken empanada, pernil, tasty fried rice of Latin fusion and the picanha. All the food was fresh, tasty and presented beautifully. The picanha may take a little time but so well worth the wait. it was so tender and tasty I barely got a chance to eat any myself after sharing the dish with my family. Went for dinner here last night to this newly opened restaurant, and I am so glad we did! We ordered the Cuban sliders were so tasty I don't normally eat bread but this was so fresh I could not resist! The Picanha was tender steak slices on a Brazilian rodizio. Also had to try the Paella which was one of the best we have tasted. Everything was so good had to squeeze in dessert Banana Foster with fried Plantains. Outstanding. I've been to a number of Latin American places in SF and NYC (I lived near SF's Mission District), and Point Grill is actually better than all of them. In addition to their (Colombian-style) empanadas, we ordered the Picanha, the Chicken Ropa Vieja, and the Pernil to split, and each of them would be the standout dish at a lesser restaurant: perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Even the sides were excellent--the mashed potatoes were so good, we took home an extra quart (and my sister is really particular about her mashed potatoes!). We just happened to be looking for lunch in Point Pleasant Beach, but this is the sort of restaurant that's worth going out of your way to visit. The place just opened, so I'm hoping they make it through the pandemic... unfortunately they're not allowed outdoor seating, so we just ordered takeout and sat outside the restaurant. :| Please order takeout from them! read more

Very disappointed. The paella was very dry and not flavorful at all. Plantains were also dry and not very sweet.
