Really wanted to like this place & was so disappointed it was a MISS. Last call for food is @ 8pm on Sunday. We didn't know this so we rushed to put in our order so that we could have dinner. The interior of the bar was super cute but since it was a nice day out we opted to sit at the outdoor patio which was equally as aesthetic. The drinks sounded really interesting & fun so we ordered the MEZCAL PASION & RASPBERRY LYCHEE MARGARITA. Both drinks were overall sweet & tasted like pure syrup flavoring. My friend did not finish her drink & I chugged mine to get rid of it. Maybe it was an off day but drinks just left a bad taste in our mouths so we decided to go for more drinks elsewhere. As for food, we ordered the brussel sprouts, shishito peppers, brisket grilled cheese, & the steak frites. Why was everything SWEET?! The BRUSSEL SPROUTS was our favorite because it made sense. It was crispy, sweet from the charred peach, & tangy. But the SHISHITO PEPPERS had this weird artificial sweetness to them that got sweeter the more we ate it. Maybe it was from the pink spiced plum powder sprinkled on it but we had a couple bites & did not want to touch it again. The BRISKET GRILLED CHEESE wasn't bad but the aioli sauce it came with was watery & lacked flavor. The STEAK FRITES came out lukewarm & a little overcooked. The peppercorn & brandy sauce was also sweet but the steak lacked salt. Nothing was balanced, something was just off. This can be a fun spot for brunch or lunch which was what I came for. It was a chilly afternoon so I opted to sit inside at one of their booths. While I was there, they showed the Texans game on their two small TVs at the bar area. For drinks, the Mini Hulk Smash and Carajillo were ordered and the verdict for those two cocktails were mediocre. My Mini Hulk Smash was on the sour side. The usage of lemongrass was a bit much. It also did not have a ginger garnish as featured on some of the old photos on Yelp. The waiter explained they recently changed the ingredients of the cocktail. I still finished it though ;) As for the Carajillo, the feedback was that it tasted more like a Dr. Pepper & Cream Soda beverage. The waiter listened to the feedback and offered to make another cocktail. Super appreciative of that. For food, the Brisket Grilled Cheese was ordered and it was yummy! The herb fries side were my favorite. Everything came out quick and the service was great! The bill was steep, but appropriate for the Heights area. I recently came in for their holiday fireside movie event. The space was decorated supper cute and festival. Lots of little photo ops for the holidays. The movie was on the patio and they had lots of fire pits and heaters. The patio is also screened with tarps in so it's toasty. I was surprised in 45 degree weather! They will provide blankets at your request as well. Lots of staff walking around and a positive customer service experience. The food and drinks were just okay. I had the brisket grilled cheese and had to request it be toasted more. The fries were plentiful and tasty. I was unimpressed with the mocktails. They said most of the cocktails are batch made so it isn't easy to make them as mocktails. My $12 mocktail tasted like a can of sparkling water. read more

Cocktails: The drinks were great. I kept wanting to say Spicy Watermelon instead of "Salted". Sweet. Good flavor but didn't really taste the coconut. I think tajin on the rim would've made it better. My friend got the Mini Hulk Smash but subbed topo for ginger beer. Very tasty. Spinach and artichoke dip: Creamy, thin, watery. Not cheesy or cream cheesy. Only good thing were the tortilla chips. Pork schnitzel: Overcooked, dry. Spaetzle was bland. Needs salt or something. Waaay too much on top. Would've been better as a small side instead of on top of the pork. Takes away from the crispiness of the breading. The vinaigrette sauce was too vinegary. That, combined with the spaetzle, was overpowering. Steak frites: The steak was ordered medium rare but came out medium. Still good. The au poivre sauce is sweet. Steak wasn't too bad. Not much flavor without the sauce. Loved the sage oil & herb fries. Shoestring, herby, crispy outside but soft inside. I'd eat a plate of that. Patio seating can get busy and full, but if you wait about 5 minutes, a table might open up like it did for us. Service was great. They let you know when a table might be available soon. They refill water and check in often, except till the end, but we kept an open tab, so closing out was smooth. Came in recently for their Christmas Marshmallow board. I had read previous reviews that it was overhyped so my expectations were low. The drinks, amazing. I had the chocolate espresso martini that came in a little cone with whipped cream. So good! but teeny tiny. We got the board for 2 people which comes with the ingredients for 2 smores. The marshmallows are big so these are pretty hefty sizes so I honestly would not have eaten more than one. They come with different types of chocolate accompaniments and toppings to fully customize it. Not only is it cute but I think its more than enough for 2 people. Took my friend for her birthday for the Christmas pop up. I had mixed reviews about. The bar itself I like however the pop up I wasn't too impressed. There wasn't much holiday decor. We were greeted with a Merry Christmas sign and the Christmas story movie (it was the only movie they played). We ordered the pasta and grilled chicken sandwich. Those were good. I first went to Heights & Co for a Yelp event loved the drinks, food and atmosphere! So I was excited to come back again with friends. I visited on a late Saturday afternoon. It was pretty hot out so most patrons were inside but we decided to enjoy the patio. The view is relaxing with plenty of seating and fans outside so we didn't mind at all. For my drinks I ordered the Sicilian margarita and later on the watermelon margarita (with mezcal). Both were pretty drinks, the Sicilian was more less sweet and more refreshing which was enjoyable with my meal and the second drink had a nice kick to it with the mezcal. For my meal I ordered the bolognese pasta. I've never had radiatori shaped pasta but it was really delicious and held the flavor of the sauce in really well. Happy hour? Yes puhleeeease! I rolled up here about 5pm on a Friday. Passing by to park, I was concerned as I saw a huge out door area. It was 101 degrees out, I'm not tryna melt! Luckily, the inside was relatively open for seating and I claimed my spot quickly. On this particular day, I had three different groups of friends who happened to be through, and I made my way three different tables chatting and working. The Mini Hulk Smash was the crowd favorite. I may have had one or two. The gin and tonic was very good. And the Hipstrict was quite refreshing. The bar bites were fantastic. Stuffed dates were solid, as was the queso con carne. Service was really good. Parking was easy, they have a lot, and you have street parking all around. Seating inside is about 6 max to a table, and you'd better like the other 5 of your new closest friends. The outdoor area is nice, but I haven't used it yet. We're triple digits at the moment so nah. For drinks we got the hipstrict, heights pink lemonade, and the mini hulk smash. Out of the 3 drinks, the mini hulk smash was our favorite. It was made with bourbon, basil, ginger, lemongrass and topo Chico. For dinner, we got the steak frites (topped with au poivre sauce and served with sage oil and herb fries) and the bordelaise burger (topped with Boursin cheese and grilled onions). Both were phenomenal! We were surprised with how good the food was. We would definitely come back to check out other items on the menu. Came here on a Saturday evening and had a great time. It's still very new but it already has great potential. Drinks: top-notch. Menu has a number of great cocktails. We tried the salted watermelon, hipstrict, heights pink lemonade, the spritz, fish house punch, and the heights & co gin and tonic. My favorites were the heights pink lemonade and the fish house punch. The others were all good as well. The only one I didn't like was the gin and tonic because I found the infused thyme weird in a G&T but others may like it. Service: service started out rocky. We waited about 15-20 minutes when we first arrived before we were served. There was also confusion a few times - waiters came by on three occasions with drinks/food that wasn't ours. I think they may still be figuring out their wait staff. They definitely need some improvement in this area. But it's currently forgivable considering they're so new. Hopefully service will improve with time. Servers were very nice and courteous. Space: the patio is large and spacious. The interior only has about 7 booths, each seating about 5 people. It'd be nice if part of the patio was covered. Parking: there's a private lot which looks big but doesn't actually have very many spaces. I feel like the parking lot can be better configured to make use of the space. But at least there's plenty of street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Overall a great addition to the heights. New patio cocktail bar - and we're loving it! Parking can be rough with just a small lot so look for available street parking. BUT, once you get there - you're golden. Patio has umbrellas and lots of shade plus fans to help with Houston heat. Prefer the a/c, just step inside to sit at the bar or one of the tables. Pretty decent food, and a chill vibe! I was at the vet nearby, and I was starving when I came across this place on the map. It didn't have a phone number or any way to actually contact them, so I wasn't sure if they offered takeout. However, as it was listed as such on Yelp, I figured I'd walk over and ask. The vibe from the very beginning was extremely relaxed! Although there was indoor seating as well, the setup was predominantly outside. There were many wooden tables and chairs with cute decorations, giving the ambiance of a garden party. The bartender was extremely friendly and confirmed that takeout was an option, so I decided to go for the Brisket Grilled Cheese. The wait for my food was a bit on the longer end, but there were only 2 staff members in sight (a server and the bartender), so it may have just been a bit understaffed on a Friday afternoon. The grilled cheese itself was absolutely delicious! The brisket was juicy and flavorful, and the cheese kept the meal even warmer. It also came with seasoned fries that were crispy on the outside and a bit soft on the inside. I ended up getting two meals worth of food out of it, which made the price worth it. The spinach artichoke dip comes out looking like a bowl of soup and the bolognese was dry. Would not recommend either of these items. When we were ready to check out, we had everything moved to his card - $119, and i left a $25 cash tip. This morning i see a $25 charge on my bank account - and ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to contact the restaurant. It wasn't that busy- maybe more than usual for a Tuesday but I would have expected if you're advertising specials that you would have the staff to accommodate that. There only appeared to be 2 servers for the whole patio. Needless to say service was quite slow. Drinks were ok- severely diluted I would say. Snacks were mediocre- bruschetta bread was stale. At the end we ordered chips and queso and the chips were basically inedible from the bitterness of whatever they were fried in I imagine. I hosted a baby shower here over the weekend. The events team worked with me diligently to ensure the space and set up with something that would work for my group. They also were incredibly flexible with what we could order on the tab. It was so excellent to have an event based on a minimum instead of a per person headcount for an event that is sometimes more of a come and go vibe. I could not recommend this restaurant and space more for people looking for events. They were overly accommodating, including letting us change the temperature and music if we liked and using as many tables as we wanted. Our server, Mason, was awesome, and he was always making sure we had what we needed! I will definitely keep them in mind for events in the future and will return as a customer. When we asked about menu items our server gave us answers in a "know it all" manner. When I asked for plastic ware for my food I received a set and was told that in the future I would not receive any since they don't do takeout orders. I was charged extra since I asked for a mocktail after I asked which drinks on the happy hour menu could be turned into a mocktails and the restaurant doesn't serve mocktails.
