Incredibly disappointed. We made an appointment on Monday to get a toilet installed that Friday ahead of having guests stay with us that weekend. We received an email late Thursday saying they needed to cancel and couldn't reschedule until the following week. I had a great experience with Ben's Plumbing. I looked into a few companies to replace a lead water service pipe and ultimately went with Ben's Plumbing. Ben came out and gave me a quick, helpful estimate and description of the work involved. DC has a program that reimburses you up to $2,500 for replacing your lead water service pipe and for the program they have the certified plumber submit all the paperwork. It requires approval from about four different DC government agencies, and Ben's Plumbing navigated the process quickly and seamlessly. Just like Ben said in my initial consultation, the work took one day and they got it all done with trenchless method that minimized the impact to the front yard. It wasn't stressful at all and I'm thrilled my family no longer has to worry about lead in our drinking water! Ben's Plumbing also throws in a free whole-home plumbing inspection, which was helpful since we have a new house. Rob came out and walked me through all the plumbing-related appliances in my house. It was really informative and great way to learn about my house. Ben and his company are absolutely phenomenal. He and his assistant Marco installed a new high-pressure gas line running through the basement of my house to a new tankless water heater and pool water heater. They were professional, courteous, efficient and paid a lot of attention to details and quality. The project was quite complicated. The new gas line had to go throughout the basement, partially through finished ceilings, partially through an open utility room and partially through the garage. Ben had to design a combination of flexible CSST and solid steel gas lines to ensure that the line is sturdy and unbreakable in the garage where it could be hit by car doors, bicycles, just anything and flexible but sturdy running through the parts of the finished basement. After that, Ben and his crew had to replace the water heater with a tankless water heater, install gas pressure regulators, and get a permit. Let me just say that permit approval took seconds, as there were zero issues with the quality of Ben's work. The tankless water heater installation wasn't easy and Ben worked with the heater manufacturer directly to solve its incompatibility with a pump produced by another company (again, solved fast and efficiently). After removing my old water heater, instead of just capping the old lines, Ben rerouted the water pipes and installed two new water line valves at the easy-to-reach height, so it would be easier for me to deal with the house winterization later on. Did I mention that he did this all without raising the original price estimate? Yes, he did. A few minor but important details. Ben and Marco always put shoe coverings on when they walked inside the house. They covered the flooring and stairs with protective tape and protective fabric. They left the house cleaner than when they started the project. Ben and his company are simply phenomenal. Highly, highly recommended. We had a hose connection break in our condo laundry closet and needed to get that fixed/replaced. Ben's Plumbing gave us a very fair price quote and was easy to work with throughout. The timeframe was quick and they did high-quality, thorough work. They replaced all the hoses (not just the broken one) and moved the machines, which we appreciated so we could clean leftover standing water. They even got us a new metal drain pan to replace the cracked plastic one we had before. We hired Ben's plumbing to find and fix a leak in our gas dryer line. Their technician Rob came out same day and explained everything calmly and patiently. He didn't pull and punches and explained that the couplings probably were sealed properly originally. He said he was happy to replace the entire line as he would have to take it completely apart to assess anyways. After he took it apart, he reported he was certain the couplings were the problem and they were clearly sealed improperly. He revealed and reinstalled quickly and we haven't had any issues since!
