Morning special, Nov '23 Saturday, Andouille Hash with Eggs

One of my fav So Pas brunchie spots. So consistently good with fresh baked items. It is a great spot to meet friends and unwind from a long week. The food is tasty and the coffee is on point for a weekend morning, the drip they offer is a smooth pick me up without the jolt. This place is what every neighborhood needs. Don't remember when it opened, but this bakery is always a repeat visit for me. My normal MO is grab n go after a workout. There bakery display case is always a winner, I can always find a treat when I stop in. The best items for me are the mushroom spinach croissant or the savory scone. Always a mood enhancer after the first bite, happy thoughts moving forward. Note, when walking up to the display, remember to look at the whole selection. There will be a special item either on a pedestal, plate, or piled neatly in a corner. Those are the unique items, and worth trying; it might not be a winner all the time but worth the experience. Today, I came across a savory Danish that hit the right buttons, it was a cherry tomato and ricotta with a hint of pesto. So, delicious, fulfilling in an easy way where the pesto wasn't overpowering the sweet tart tomatoes and creamy cheese. Delightful pastry.

This is a great casual spot for breakfast or lunch. I've been here a couple of times and each time the service has been warm and welcoming. I've gotten their roast beef hot sandwich, ham and cheese croissant, and iced matcha. Everything has been delicious. They have a free parking lot next door as well as street parking. Definitely recommend.

I highly recommend Heirloom Bakery and Café. All of their food is freshly made, and their baked goods are absolutely amazing, along with the rest of the menu. You truly can't go wrong with any choice. It's definitely worth stopping by if you're in South Pasadena.

The pastries looked amazing!!!!

Such a cute bakery and cafe. I wish I was able to sit in the space but I ordered a Cuban sandwich to go. The staff was very friendly and the sandwhich was good. I want to go back and grab some pastries and sit in their seating area and enjoy the ambiance!

Menu

We really enjoy their meatloaf sandwich! Although, we wish there were more gluten-free options.

Heirloom Bakery (est 2005) is a corner local breakfast, lunch, cafe and pastry shop located at Meridian ave in So. Pasadena. They are literally in front of the MTA Gold line station. I came here today for brunch. I was warmly greeted by a young female staff. I told her it's my first time and she kindly showed me the menu. I decided to order one of their Specials. Veggie omelet, cafe au lait and orange juice. I liked my food and drinks. Indoor/outdoor atmosphere were relaxing. Their indoor seats were limited, however, they have more tables outdoor. Service was on point. Staff was cordial and professional. Prices seem economically fair. Side street parking and free public lot next to the cafe are available. Overall, I had a good meal and dine-in experience. I recommend this bakery and cafe restaurant.

Ham, tomato, onion, and cheddar omelette with side greens. Delicious!

I love coming here after a hard workout, or to do some work. The coffee is top tier, and the pastries and breakfasts are varied, so there's something for everyone. It's a warm and homey environment, and it never takes too long for things to be made. You can also take cupcakes and other goodies home, if you have the discipline to do so!

Awesome local bakery and cafe. It has inside and outside seating. Close to metro parking structure. Therefore, parking is free and available. They have friendly staff and food are delicious. Definitely a great place to grab breakfast and brunch

You must try Heirloom Bakery. The overstuffed sandwiches are amazing. I had the BLT. Delicious, fresh homemade bread and perfectly crispy bacon. My friend loved her breakfast sandwich, my brother raved about his turkey sandwich too. We had the option to order a 1/2 sandwich. I may do that next time! Cheerful service We greedily shared the pumpkin muffin and almond croissant the staff included as a thank you. Will definitely return.

But nooooo. Mr. B can smell sinfully yummy calories, even with a bag over his head, a mile away. Their specialty... chocolate croissants. Thus, we let Artisanal Goods lure us in. No parking, way too busy, way too full to seat us, a line bursting out the door, the tiny bakery cafe still seduced us. That is, Mr B circled the block in the car but pushed me out to get in line. It was the idea of a flaky, buttery, chocolate croissant crumbling all over his shirt that made him do it. And I had no intention of saying no. The line went quickly. The last Kouign Amann had just escaped my clutches to the guy in front of me, darn it. But there were still trays upon trays of freshly baked, massive chocolate croissants displayed in their custom, wood display case right next to the register. Sorry about no pictures, but you know how things get out of hand sometimes. However if you want to experience an orgasm in pastry form, I suggest you high tail it here.

Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like I was inconveniencing them just by ordering. A friendly attitude goes a long way, and that was completely missing. The coffee was even more disappointing. It had almost no flavor and tasted watered down, especially for the price. I expected a quality drink, but it was bland and absolutely not worth what I paid. To make matters worse, we were told to leave the patio an hour before the shop was even closing. If the patio has different hours, that should be clearly communicated instead of asking paying customers to leave early. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. Between the unfriendly service, flavorless coffee, and being asked to leave well before closing, I won't be coming back. There are plenty of other cafés in Pasadena that offer much better coffee and treat their customers with respect.

Old Town Pasadena, California…read more Next to Nana's Green Tea, Delight is A very good French bakery, no breads, but Delight feeds the pastry hunger in me -- all the pastries, cakes and gelati are excellent. There is a smallish macaron counter with popular flavors and can be boxed up to bring home. The house made sandwiches (focaccia), breakfasts and lunch items are very good to excellent also and with great prices. With about 15 tables (a couple of tables for larger groups), there's a steady stream of people here and it would be a matter of time when lines will form out the door. Service is super attentive. The minute you come in the person behind the counter comes to assist. Ohhh almost forgot, savory pastries (caprese and artichoke and cheese) are super well-made and the crusts delightfully light and crispy :-) I keep coming back. End of Yelp.

I know it would have been SO good if it were warmed up and the cheese were a little melty. KOUIGN AMANN: 3/5. My favorite pastry. Perhaps a personal preference, but I wish the sugar were a little more caramelized. It also was not as rich as I am accustomed to this pastry being.

Came here for the souffle pancakes and they didn't disappoint!…read more My party of 3 stopped by Saturday afternoon 2:30 pm and it wasn't crowded. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

It tasted more like an Asian roll cake. Not too sweet but I didn't taste much sea salt. Plus- clean restroom available for customers Parking: street parking or lots around. The closest parking garage is on De Lacey next to the miniso.

Walking in you get to see a nice display case of various pastries and a cute space with a few tables set up. They also have seating outside on Green if you prefer al fresco dining. It seems they have more substantial food than just pastries but I was just after the pastries. Staff were all kind and friendly, helped me pack up my goodies and I basically gobbled them up as I was walking some more. I got the canele and really enjoyed it. It had a nice, crisp exterior with a very soft, custardy center. Texturally, the canele was great. The paris-brest was also pretty good (doesn't rival ones I've had in Paris but thats likely a high bar). I found the praline cream super decadent and rich with hazelnut flavor but the choux itself wasn't amazing. However, I found out afterwards that this is a fully vegan establishment and was astounded that they got such wonderful textures and flavors without butter. With that knowledge, I was amazed at the renditions of these desserts and think its an amazing option for folks with a vegan diet to have excellent French pastries. I definitely recommend it as a vegan bakery and even as a great bakery for non-vegans.
