I was super disappointed coming here for restaurant week! It was a three course meal and the first course was great! The gnocchi had delicious short ribs in it and mushrooms topped with cheese slices. The charcuterie was ok. Not the best because the meats weren't very fresh. The cheese was good though. Main course- the pacific salmon was perfectly made! A little crisp on the outside and super moist and juicy on the inside. The most disappointing was the steak. We got two orders and both medium rare and they both came out burnt on the outside and not medium rare at all. I doubled checked with the server to be sure we got our steak medium rare and she confirmed that we did. The meat was very very hard to chew and spices were overwhelming on some parts. (Not sure if a different meat was used for restaurant week then compared to the regular menu steak) I let the server know that my steak was super burnt and she kindly said she would show the chef. They gave me a new steak but it was still burnt. The dessert cinnamon rolls with they house made cream cheese icing was delicious also !! I have had numerous meals at this restaurant and for as much as I have enjoyed their food, this most recent experience was HORRIBLE. I spent over $300 taking my employees out to lunch for the Holidays only to have to pay a $12 valet (allegedly discounted) for each of my employee vehicles. The worst part of this is that there is no self-parking here, so you are relegated to their handcuff process which is a total scam in which this restaurant and the Irvine Marriott are in a conspiracy against the public. Had a simple but delicious breakfast steel roll meal topless crush bananas, blackberries, blueberries, and pepitas and accompanied with a ginger zest freshly squeezed juice. Always nice to see restaurants in hotels up there a game. The heirloom a very airy space with lots of window into the pool. The rolled oats came in this cute little serving can and it was quite delicious. A perfect breakfast when you want something to fill you up, but not be too heavy since I have a boating adventure this afternoon. The servers are lovely and very attentive. The only thing is that the space is so airy that it can feel a bit chilly especially in the morning. However if you're lucky enough to grab a table with some sun then you'll be OK. A wonderful way to start the day. The only reason that I'm doing it for stars is because the room temperature otherwise it would be a solid five. read more

I came to the Heirloom Farmhouse with 2 girlfriends for the 2019 OC Restaurant Week special. Lunch was $20. For starters, we had a choice of Cauliflower Mac, Heirloom Salad or a Charcuterie board. We each picked one so we could share. The salad was very good and the charcuterie was great, but we took most of it home. The cauliflower Mac was the clear winner with us. It was something we had never had before and it was delicious! For entrees, we had a choice of a Baja California Bowl, Adobo Quinoa Bowl or Pacific Salmon with squash risotto, fennel watercress salad and a parmesan crisp. We all ordered the salmon. The salmon was good, but just a bit over cooked. The squash risotto was good but not great as the butternut squash wasn't soft. The risotto needed to be cooked for another 5+ minutes. We didn't get any parm crisps, but that's fine, we were full. For dessert, each one of us received three miniature brick oven cinnamon buns with house-made cream cheese frosting. These were outstanding! The service was good. They need to relook at the small square take-home boxes as no one could get the lids to go on right. Our server tried his best and then took it in the back to get a new one. He was gone for awhile such that it pushed us over the 1 hour time frame for complimentary valet parking, so it cost us an extra $5. The atmosphere is very nice. I was hoping that my experience at Heirloom would have been wonderful, but it was the total opposite. I was extremely disappointed with the restaurant. For starters, my sister got her drink with lipstick stain on it. Which tells me they do not wash their glass cups. So gross!! Her second drink came 30 minutes late. After we finished dinner the bday girls started to open our gifts when I believe a gentleman whom I'm assuming is the manager abruptly came in the room and tapped my BFF on the shoulder. He told her that we had to leave because the restaurant was closed. We were in the private dining area celebrating bdays with 13 girls. There were several patrons outside the private dining that were still eating and having drinks. He was extremely rude and unprofessional! After paying the tab we noticed 2 credit cards were missing. One of my girlfriends had to ask the waitress for the cards. During this time we see notice some commotion outside the dining area. Well there were men carrying an intoxicated female outside because she was throwing up in the restroom. At that time we were completely done that we just left and didn't even ask for our money that was owed to us from the bill. This was the worst April Bdays Celebration experience I've ever had in my life. I had to apologize to my girlfriends for suggesting such a place like Heirloom. Oh and to put the cherry on top when we walked to the front of the lobby to get our cars from valet a fight broke out between 2 patrons. NEVER AGAIN! Mixed experience here. Definitely expecting a lot more, but hear me out. Ambiance: 5/5 - The Marriot definitely puts an emphasis on aesthetics as the interior around the restaurant was phenomenal. Felt like I was at a high end place with a nice view of the outdoor patio/pool area. Also, some of the workers removed one of the glass wall panels to open up the place. Service: 4/5 - Our waitress was superb and took care of all of our custom orders. We mixed and matched food items and all of them came out just fine. Only issue was that our food took a bit longer to come out than we were expecting, and we were basically the only ones in the restaurant. Food: 3/5 - Very mediocre food. Or maybe it was just a bit underwhelming because of where we were at and what we were expecting. My coworker said he could have gotten something tastier and for a better price at Chipotle. Also, kind of disappointed Value: 2/5 - Based on the quality/taste of what we received, the prices definitely seemed a bit inflated. And I get that we were in a nice area and nice hotel, so they have some justification. I just hoped they would have put more effort into making the food taste great to match the aesthetics of the place. Parking: 1/5 - This might not be fair to the restaurant, but valet parking (the only option available here) is free with restaurant validation, but only for 1 hour, which was NOT enough time, especially given that our service was slower than we'd hoped. One of our cars made it out exactly at 60 minutes, but our second car had to pay because we were ONE minute over! This was pretty ridiculous as we were outside at the same time, and didn't give us leeway. The definitely need to change this policy and give 5-10 minutes buffer, or extend to 1.5 hours to account for slow service. read more

Long wait for a table as the hostess bussed tables. We were then and ordered and we never saw our server till we were finished eating. Others were repeatedly asking for their check so we were not alone and waitstaff seemed to be working hard. Staffing levels and management were an issue. Food came out of the kitchen fast and hot. Nobody is bussing tables except the hostess. I did not get a refill on my coffee till the server brought the check. The jalapeño hollandaise had no chili flavor and was almost mayo thick. Potato seasoning was inconsistent. Otherwise food quality was good. I hate to write a review like this but no management was on the floor and that is likely the root of the entire issue. $44 dollars for breakfast should be a good experience. read more

I realized the Marriott by Irvine Spectrum was finally open so my friend and I stopped by there around 10pm last night. The hostess was nice and the bartenders gave us lots of recommendations and introduced us to the concept of the restaurant. I had the Self Sufficient (vodka grapefruit cocktail) and the bartender was nice enough to make a mocktail for my friend that doesn't drink (a virgin daiquiri I believe) We had 2 appetizers; the kabocha crostini and Brussels sprouts. Both excellent. I was very happy they had lots of vegetarian options as I don't eat meat. Overall had a great experience :) Would definitely recommend. read more

My French Toast was very good, but the two Eggs Benedicts my sister and friend got were apparently "not bad" - the eggs were not runny as requested and not enough hollandais sauce. The service was unbelievably inadequate. Although the staff were polite and nice they seemed extremely inexperienced. Ordered coffee and tea, received coffee and hot water, no tea bags, spoons, or sweeteners. By the time I got the tea bag the hot water was cold. I had to get up and steal sweetener from another table. After 25 minutes we got our food, but no cutlery or the hot sauce and side of jalapeños we had requested. Dude, why aren't there sweeteners, salt and pepper, and cutlery on the table? We had to flag down a bus boy for it, or take it off of other tables. They said they were short handed, but little bit of logic goes a long way. Take a pot of coffee in one hand and hot water in the other and refresh people's drinks. . Instead these brilliant people would bring you a fresh cup each time and leave the old cup on the table . Very frustrating since I had recommended the place and everyone was annoyed with me. This restaurant is located inside the newly renovated Marriot Hotel across from the Irvine Spectrum. I went at 1pm on SuperBowl Sunday and it was very quiet. We had brunch. We ordered the Wild Honey (watermelon, pineapple,celery, cayenne,agave) and Celery Lemon (celery, lemon and ginger) fresh juices and ordered the Cinnamon French Toast with a side of scrambled eggs and Smoke Stack. We were planning to go to the new rooftop bar in the area, but they were closed for private event on that day. So we decided to try out the Heirloom. The hostess welcomed us with nice smile and directed us to table immediately. Daniel was our server, he was kindly explained throughout the food and cocktails menus to us since it was our first time there. We ordered a couple cocktails. They taste fresh and good combinations. The food was quick and we can tell that all the dishes were well prepared. I have to say that the food here are delicious. The kitchen are doing a very good job here. Highly recommend the Korobuta Pork. It was so tender, juicy and flavorful. Daniel came to check on us regularly, even it was a little busy on that day. Chose this place for the vegetarian options as i was meeting an out of town friend that's vegetarian. Didn't realize it was inside the Marriott. I stay at Marriotts about 40 nights a year so I'm familiar. Basically it was a nicer restaurant than most Marriotts but the same wine and beer selection and hotel kitchen fare. Very mixed reviews on our meals. Pork and fish over cooked. Veggies and mussels done perfectly. That being said the service was fantastic and the live music was great. I'm mostly annoyed about the valet. I came through with my party and was told I couldn't park at their near EMPTY parking garage and was told to go park at the spectrum and Uber or walk over. (A 10 minute walk away) The valet guy asked if we had reservations for the restaurant, which we did, but he still sent us to park elsewhere. After parking at the spectrum and walking over, we passed by the valet guy, he let through another car (which was part of our group meeting us there), we asked him why THEY were able to park there and he told us that they were there for a private event. We called him out on his lie and explained they were with us. We got the manager involved, but they essentially told us to F off. It really ruined my groups' meal and time. I took my family there. They have very good choices of beer and wine. The food was really good overall. However, the portions are very little. The service was very nice as well. I would give a 5 stars if their "basket of bread" didn't cost EIGHT DOLLARS! Will be a returning customer! I have multiple dietary restrictions (dairy free, gluten free...) and was looking for a new restaurant to try with a friend. I like that their menu is straightforward and uses locally sourced ingredients! I made a reservation online and was able to provide information about my dietary needs ahead of time! When we arrived it was open seating so I could have gone without a reservation (this was a Tuesday after work so it may be busier on a Fri/Sat night). Our waitress was able to accommodate my dietary needs and was knowledgeable about the menu options. Food was yummy and came out in good time. Popular place due to the rooftop bar housed inside this Marriott hotel. The restaurant is on the ground floor and has a chic, open design. I rarely order chicken but the description of the brick roasted Jidori chicken was enticing (Medjool dates, almonds, sage sauce). The chicken was dry and it took a bit of effort to cut through the meat but the sauce, sweet dates and accompanying butternut squash made it a tasty dish. The place was pretty empty except for a few at the bar ( which meant we had good service). Valet parking only - validation at the restaurant gives you one hour free. I think they need to improve the parking situation as the spaces are limited and there was a long line of people waiting for an attendant. It was nice but I have no immediate plans to return given all the other choices locally. read more
