I stopped getting no chips and pedicures a long time ago because I just wasn't happy with the results and felt it was a waste of money. Not to mention it's dreadful to spend that much money at a salon where you feel awkward and uncomfortable. About 2 years ago I won a gift certificate at a fundraiser. The gift certificate was for Helen's Nails. I live in Algonquin and this place is a bit far for me since there's like 30 in my area, but it was free for me so why not, right? I was a walk in and Jeannie did my nails. I was very happy that she actually conversed with me and made me laugh. She is young and funny. I was even more impressed with the no chip and pedi I received. Jeannie actually takes her time to give you the absolute best manicures and pedicures. Jeannie has done speckles, Christmas designs, glow in the dark, and just recently she did pin stripes and palm trees on my nails and she is absolutely amazing! Jeannie even did my nails for my beach wedding in Florida. My wedding was 4 days after arriving in Florida and my nails withstood the pool, the ocean, and even the sand. All of the girls in my wedding had to have theirs redone in Florida the day before the wedding. They were not happy and a tad bit jealous of my mani pedi. Jeannie sincerely cares about her clients and the services she provides. I cannot rave enough about her. I would highly recommend an appointment with her in the summer months as she books up quickly. On the occasion that one of my nails break and I need to get an acrylic, I use Jeannie's mom Anna. Anna is also amazing and sincerely cares about the services that she gives. Anna is very sweet and funny. Jeannie and Anna work as a team and help each other out when they are super busy. I actually really enjoy coming here and look forward to seeing Jeannie. I cannot compliment this place enough. I cannot comment on anyone else here since I've only worked with Jeannie and Anna, but this is the place to go for sure! Worst place ever. If you want your nails to look like a 2 year old did them and be charged $85 for it, you've found the place! Picture on left is what they do when you ask for an ombré, after that FAIL they did what's on the right (still awful) pictures on top are what was requested. What a sham! She asked from chrome originally- made an appointment for that and the person wasn't available. Then she asked for gel polish- they put on a set of acrylics. My sister never gets her nails done. She's now in tears. Don't waste your time- I called to make it right they are rude and don't want to help they accused her of wanting "freebies"!!! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!! read more

Not sure how this place has any business. I walked in at 720pm for a pedicure and they literally turned me away, like told me to leave, since they close at 8. Can't really say this is a review since I was t able to get any services. When your door, website, and even giant yellow sign in the window say you open at 9 am and I've now been sitting outside your business for 30 mins looking to get a mani/pedi before work- have to say it's pretty disappointing! I want to give a higher review. It was a really nice experience with extremely nice people. Really good prices too - there was a special for $30 for mani/pedi (mon, tues, wed) They had two people working on me at once. It was quite a nice experience. I just wish they were a little more careful about hygiene. The towel they used under my manicure was put down as the towel for the feet of the next person getting a pedicure. I didn't really see any cleaning of the tools either. read more

Anna is the best!! I get acrylic fills and have tried every salon in the area. She's the best around. She takes her time but doesn't waste time. She cares about the quality of her work and minds the details, like every nook and cranny of your nail being smooth and shaped properly. She doesn't slop the liquid all over your cuticles and leave residue on them. She speaks great English so you can communicate clearly and she listens to what you ask for and delivers without having to ask over and over. She even files your nails upside down at the end to put a little natural taper on the front edge so they don't look blunt or fake. She's gentle but thorough and I'd rather someone push into my nails & cuticles a bit to get them looking perfect than be so afraid of hurting me that they do a sub par job on the appearance of them. She's just awesome and I'm never disappointed after getting a fill from her. I can't vouch for the other people there too much because I only get one service done but if you have faux claws I recommend always going to her. Her daughter is usually there too and seems super sweet. I always feel comfy there. read more

I know this place has a pretty good/ average rating BUT DONT GO HERE! I've been contemplating the past few days about reviewing this place, but after reading the bad reviews I can only apologize for the fact I didn't review this place sooner! The owner, who also did my acrylic nails, is SO RUDE! He couldn't do what I wanted, which was literally ombré nails with two accent nails that had silver flecks in them, in general he did a sloppy job on my nails. He didn't remove my cuticles, used a dirty nail file, and hadn't cleaned off any of the nail dust off of the table from the previous client. He didn't cover my nails evenly so they look grown out and the side of my nails are bare, and he also left them crooked, like idk how you manage to screw up so many things in one go and have good reviews. He also wasn't completely paying attention because he kept looking to see who was coming in rather than doing a good job which just made me feel like a total inconvenience. This was also my first time getting my nails done so he was getting frustrated with the way my hands were positioned, so instead of telling me how to position them he decided to be petty and would slap my hands away (ON PURPOSE) every time he was done filing them or painting them! DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! Not worth the money. read more

I was verbally and physically ASSAULTED by Don. I came in for acrylic nails and wanted him to make them coffin shaped. When he shaped one hand and I took a look at it, it looked horrible, so I nicely told him I didn't like how it looked and to please fix it. I googled coffin shaped nails (which I never had to do at a nail salon as they always know what that means) and showed it to him. He told me I should have showed it to him from the beginning.... aren't you the professional who is suppose to know this? He looked at me and asked me what I wanted him to do? I told him I wanted him to fix my nails ( that looked like stilleto Nails at this point) . And he said absolutely not because I have no idea what I'm talking about and he's not going to waste time on me, since he will have to take my nails off and start from the beginning, unless he charges me more money. More money for what? Because he didn't do my nails correctly? I said I will pay for my nails the price that's on his menu and not more because it's not my fault he didn't do it correctly. At that point this man started getting really angry, he jumped up and started screaming at me and telling me I have no idea what I'm talking about. His hands were shaking and he was pacing back and forth screaming at me in front of all of the other people at the salon. I was in shock, I have never seen this kind of customer service anywhere. He was getting so angry, while I remained seated and just asked him to please fix my nails. He said the only way he will touch my nails if I pay him more money so I told him no I will not be paying you more money than we agreed on. At that point he grabbed scissors and then grabbed my hand forcefully without my permission and started cutting my nails in half. I could not believe this was happening. I tried to pull my hand away from him but he was holding it so tight that I couldn't until he cut off all my nails. This was in front of 3 other customers who witnessed the whole thing. I got up and he still had scissors in his hands and was waving them around screaming. I was scared for my life at this point . I tried to get away from him by walking out the door, but this deranged man chased me out the door and tried to corner me before I left. I ran to my car and drove to the next plaza over, where I sat with my hands and feet shaking and cried from the fear that I felt. I will never come back to this salon, and I will be filing a police report. read more

They just recently remodeled their beautiful salon and are expanding their services. The place, and tools are nice, clean and high end. Walked in yesterday and found a clean, neat as a pin nail salon. Very friendly staff. Had the BEST pedicure I've had in a long time from Mai. No cheese graters on your feet!! Also had an acrylic fill and Lynn did a wonderful job. Never hit my cuticles once, no pain...So happy I found my new nail place.. just moved to the area and had tried another place that was very disappointing. I had a wonderful experience again but even better than before. The massage chair was great but my feet and legs truly feel like the spent the day at the spa after a legs and foot massage.
