I wanted to hit the closest boba spots while I was on a trip in Texas and Hello Boba was the first on this list. This is one of the newer boba places close to my house and I really wanted to check it out. To my surprise it was Really Good! I aimed towards the fruity tea bobas and my husband got the milk tea and coffee bobas. The bobas are always free which is a plus. Granted it's usually 50 cents more but still. Free is free! I've tried the S6 and the S1. The S6 has a rich rose taste which was surprisingly tasty and not too sweet. The S1 had a lot of stuff: boba, lychee jelly, fruit bites, seeds, but I loved having a lotta stuff in there. The boba is on point and chewy and you know it's fresh cuz you can taste warmth when you chew on it. The Vietnamese coffee and the dirty milk tea had a specific richness where the flavor isn't lacking at all. My husband and I were very impressed and we can't wait to go back. There's plenty of seating available and even a play area in the back for kids. There's even a couch and a Nintendo switch where you can play video games which I thought was pretty neat. The service is plenty friendly and super helpful if you don't know which one to pick. And last but not least, the film covering the drink is just the right amount of plastic to where when you poke through it with your straw it's not too strong where you need a lot of force, but it's strong enough to withstand accidental tears or tear too much to where there's room for leakage! That's probably not that important to some, but it kills me when some of my drink sleeps out and I have to slurp my tea on top of the plastic. The couple here is trying to accommodate the need of every customer! They are extremely helpful and nice, especially if you don't know which drink to pick. Yay! Boba in Allen!! Cute family owned boba joint. It's bit hidden since it's not facing the main roads but it's in the same building as the Chinese buffet place. My kids went right to the board games when we went in and they later entertained themselves in the kids area with LEGO blocks and a play kitchen. So yeah, it's very kid friendly. I tried their Vietnamese frappe and classic milk tea. They also have a dirty milk tea which has a shot of espresso. The girl taking my order didn't seem to know much about the menu since she didn't know what taro bites were and what a dirty milk tea was. She had to turn around and ask the owners both times. I guess that's okay since it's only the second day of their soft opening. The only other place that I know of that has Vietnamese frappe is fat straws, which is about 30 mins away. The Vietnamese frappe was pretty good. Not too sweet and had a good coffee flavor, which what a Vietnamese coffee should be. I would order it again. My daughter didn't like the milk tea. She's use to the milk tea at Kung Fu. I tasted it and thought the tea flavor was very strong. I am not much of milk tea drinker so don't take my word for it. The menu seems to have a lot of interesting drinks so I will be back again to try some of them. I will definitely be back for the Vietnamese frappe. After getting dinner somewhere nearby, my husband and I went here for milk and fruit tea drinks here at Hello Boba. If I'm not mistaken, this is one of two boba tea shops in Allen. It is located in the Target/Home Depot shopping center, right off the 75 freeway. The drink menu includes fruit teas, smoothies, and milk teas. In my opinion, the menu options are not as adventurous as other shops. My husband got the malibu sunset which was a fruit based drink, and I got the taro milk drink. We found the fruit tea a bit too sweet, but the taro milk drink had a good flavor (I wish I got boba with it). Another time, we had tried their Allen Eagle Eye drink, which is another fruity drink. Again, this was a little too sweet for my liking. Perhaps next time I'll see if they can adjust the sweetness level. The shop is casual with games and books for those who want to use them while visiting. Staff was pretty friendly. Overall, this drink shop was good, but not one of my favorites in the area (it's hard when there are so many good boba spots in Plano!). A new local boba shop that is trying to get off the ground in the Allen area. We came here to study for an entire afternoon about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by our experience. In terms of drinks, they have just the right amount of options in each category. We tried their green tea and milk tea and both were on point. If you're into coffee, their Vietnamese coffee and "dirty" drinks are must-tries. The price is on the higher end ($4+) but at least the boba are included. Seating seems slightly limited given the size of the room. The service counter being in the middle took up a big chunk of the real estate. There's also a toddler play area at the back, which is a unique and interesting idea that we appreciate as parents, but could certainly be converted into more seats if necessary. In the end, what impressed me the most was actually how hard the owner was working trying to start this small business. There are certainly some kinks that needs to be worked out (already worked out?). For example, I can't find a phone number for the place on Google or Yelp. To use the Wifi, the owner had to manually type the password into our laptops. But these are all minor things. Either way, I hope things work out for Hello Boba and we'll certainly be visiting again next time we're in town. read more
