My friend introduced me to this place on my way home from Downtown LA. I was honestly surprised that it was a actually a decent good boba place. I got the Passion fruit oolong tea and my bf got the Jasmine milk tea, both with Crystal boba. The flavor of their boba were pretty good and the boba was surprisingly tasty and had a good texture . Decent boba. I don't remember the name of the drinks. We really liked their taro smoothie with Crystal boba. It was flavorful and didn't taste powdery like other places. I wasn't a fan of their horchata smoothie. It was too sweet with very little cinnamon flavor. The green milk tea was solid. We also ordered a black tea that was nice and bold. Overall, we enjoyed it. I got a taro milk tea here, half sweet. The sweetness level is nearly perfect for me and the milk tastes fresh. The boba is the right chewiness, about half-way, which is the way I like it -- not too soft, but at the same time digestible. None of the balls were dry anywhere. If I had to nitpick, I would have preferred a bit of pulp or pieces of taro to give it some texture. If there was any in there, it must have been real subtle. The cups were cute, sure, but the tradeoff to designer cups is usually a thin diameter, or less volume. The price isn't bad per se, but I felt like it needed a bit more garnish, to add a little more of something. If I'm ever out in El Monte again, I would definitely go back to try one of their signature items. But that's because I don't necessarily want to go out of the way to Alhambra or Arcadia where there are more fish in the sea. It's good. I would recommend it. But it probably won't be a favorite or a place for boba connoisseurs. read more

They also offer FREE boba. On Monday-Friday between 2-7pm they have happy hour special. Buy one get 1 free for the royal milk tea and the thai teas. I call in first to place my order so my order is usually ready when I arrive. They are right next to dim sum king so pick up some dim sum on my way out if they are still open. A large fruit tea is $3.75 which is pretty dang cheap, especially if it comes with a free topping. They have pretty unique drinks along with classic drinks. I personally love fruit teas and their fruit teas have been pretty good! I get it with cheese foam and their cheese foam is good quality too. They also have milk alternatives! It has definately improved since my first visit when it just first opened. This updated review is long overdue. The taro looks and tastes so much better now compred to when I first just got it. Its a little bit creamier and you cant taste/see the taro powder on the bottom which is a huge improvement. As for the watermelon mojito, it has more mint than watermelon taste/flavor I feel like. So maybe add just 1-3 mint leaves? Then it would be okay because when my drink was done there were so many mint leaves remaining which I think it didnt need that much, but it still tasted pretty good! Boba has gotten more chewy which I do like. It has definately changed interior and the menu, which looks appealing! I do love the accessories added in the shop as well! I ordered a large mojito with boba and it was really good. It is something other boba shops in SGV don't have. It's refreshing, perfectly sweetened and divine. The concatenated boba pearl was chewy, warm and soft just the way I like it. Prices were inexpensive and very competitive. They have regular and large size containers. Furthermore, it has positive and motivating message at the back of every containers. Staff was nice and assiduous. Hello SGV! I'm back here with a boba review on Garvey. To be honest this is much closer to my house than alot of other boba places that I like. Their menu is very interesting and I would have liked a better look to understand but it's okay. First off i came around 8pm an hour before they close and they were still pretty busy. I ordered a Brown Sugar Milk Drink and the Latte as well. We also ordered the Horchata Cinnamon drink as well, also a Pink Lychee with Strawberry bits & Popping boba. They came out pretty fast I only waited about like 5 minutes in total. Now for drink review: both Brown Sugar drinks were phenomenal, the consistency of the drink is perfect, the whole way through. My only issue is the boba. It is a bit bland so they do need to step up the boba taste quality. The Horchata drink & Pink Lychee are both so consistent and amazing.
