In my office, she helped me cull through years of paperwork that had been accumulating in piles. A few months later, I hired Louise to come back and help with our kitchen. Again, she helped us organize everything, from labeling and alphabetizing all of our spices, to helping us get a handle on our pantry and kitchenware. Louise works really hard, is easy to talk to, can work with different personality types (several of my friends use her too!), helps you donate/trash unwanted items, and makes you love your house again. I was shopping around for a company to remodel several closets in my condo and less than thirty minutes after I requested a quote from California Closets, I got a phone call in response. I spoke to a rep who was extremely friendly and scheduled an appointment with Design Lead Stephanie. She came out and was very thorough in her measurements and making sure that she understood what I wanted. When she told me the final price, I was shocked because I expected it to be a lot more. And believe me it was well worth the price. My install was scheduled for December 15th from 8-10. The Installers (Victor and Daniel) arrived at 815 and went right to work. They were friendly, respectful of my home and very knowledgeable. They worked quickly and by 2:30 they had finished my two bedroom closets, my guest room closet, my entry way closet and my laundry room. The change in my home is absolutely incredible. PReviously my condo was extremely lacking in closet space, even though the closets were large. It wasn't well designed at all. Two of the closets I couldn't even use until yesterday due to no means of hanging clothing items. My large bedroom closet had two accordion doors; onie of which was taken off about six months ago because it was being repaired. At the suggestion f my friend, I had the installer remove the remaining door. I cannot believe how open my bedroom is! I'm considering removing the accordion doors on my other bedroom closet and my guest room closet to really open up the space. Normally I would find that idea crazy, but these closets are so beautiful that it's almost like having built in shelves. I also have four drawers in my large bedroom closet, which means more places to put my socks and my pajamas. And I love finally having a shelf on which to put my towels (since the bathroom wasn't built with any sort of shelving. I've lived in my home for three years and eleven 1/2 months and this project had been on my wish list since I moved in. I don't even want to think about how much money I spent on storage solutions (bins, baskets, carts, over-the door hooks, etc) in all that time. I am happily going to donate it all and use what I can on the shelves. I am so appreciative of what California Closets did for me. I plan on leaving a review on their site as well, but I wanted to express my gratitude here. Normally decluttering and putting things away is a pain and a chore. Those days are long gone. I regret that I did not ask them their name - but they setup on my garage, cut things to fit, did the whole install and it looked exactly like the model. After 1.5 hours,…read moreI had trouble understanding where the organizer was going with her plan, so I tried to express my needs and what I was looking for. After discussing for a while, she just left, having made more of a mess than was there before. I am including the "after" photo. Update: I got an email from the CEO threatening me for this review. It's unfortunate that her employee was upset with our appointment too. I stopped her to understand what her plan was and explain my needs, so that we weren't wasting our time. I'm sorry that my feedback hurt her feelings. My harshest feedback to her was, "I understand your piles, but I don't see how they are helpful," and "there are a lot of piles here - at some point they become superfluous." I have nothing against her employee. She seemed like a nice person. But I didn't see that her method was meaningful, and her explanation was only "this is my training" so I continued to not understand her plan, and I pressed to find out more, because I genuinely wanted her help. I tried to explain that all I wanted was someone to sit with me and say "do you need to keep this?" But she told me that her way was to make a bunch of piles, leave for 30 min so I could decide what to get rid of by myself, and then come back and put the leftovers away. I told her that if she did that, I would just feel overwhelmed and probably not do anything. So she told me she couldn't help. As she got up to leave, I even said, "ok we can do it your way. I'll try to trust you. Please don't leave me with this mess." But she left anyway. I wasn't going to even write a review until I realized she had scattered my sentimental box in an unfixable way. When I realized that, I cried. I had told her I wanted to work together, but she had refused, and if we had worked together in the first place, she wouldn't have destroyed the one thing that really mattered to me. It was a bad day for all involved. The CEO says I am a "bully" for articulating my needs, but I don't think my expectations were unreasonable. I wanted to go thru things together, and have the organizer be gently present as I made decisions about letting go. The organizer wanted to sort things herself and have me make decisions alone. Those ideologies are fundamentally at odds, so maybe it's good she left early.

Lily did such an amazing job of sorting through everything I had and then culling down what I didn't need. She sat with me and provided advice for how to sort sentimental things and when to get rid of superfluous things.
