When the truck opened, it took about 20min to get my items. My friend waited 2 hrs to get something from this truck Sat. I heard some people waited nearly 3.5hrs! While we were waiting, a lady passed out an adorable sticker to those in line that said "I ate something yummy @ Hello Kitty Cafe." Once the truck was open, those who had cash was able to skip ahead to another window. There were two people who took card payments. There is talk that Hello Kitty Cafe will be a full fledged brick and mortar shop. In the mean time, you can catch the food truck around town from time to time. They offer a small menu, mostly sweets. We tried a few things, and the verdict is cute but pricey. In fact, you might not want to eat some of the food, on account of its adorableness. The 3-Piece Donut box ($10) was a trio of donuts with different glazes. They tasted like your standard donut, but they were decorated with Hello Kitty bows and came in a Hello Kitty themed box. The 4-piece mini cakes came in a house themed box, with each cake wrapped in fondant and decorated to look like a Hello Kitty character. Like I said, way too precious-looking to eat. Bottles of water go for $5, which seems steep for water. But the bottle itself is shaped like a Hello Kitty bow, and can easily be refilled. Not a bad deal if you're looking for a souvenir. The also offer Macarons (5 for $15), but we skipped those. The real standout was their hot chocolate. It wasn't as flashy as the rest of the menu, served in a simple coffee cup with a Hello Kitty sticker. But what it lacks in style it makes up for in flavor. The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck recently came to Seattle at front of the EMP as part of the Hello Kitty Supercute Farewell Weekend. The truck itself is super cute, and if you even look inside the truck, the wall makes it look like the inside of Hello Kitty's house! Be warned with a few things however if you decide to visit this cute stand when it's in your town: 1) Line can be very long... Because it's Hello Kitty, duh! I think I waited like 20-30 minutes? Maybe more, I'm bad with estimating time. But definitely expect to wait. 2) Everything on the menu is PRICEY! You're paying for the brand and the time spent on the presentation of every single little pastry you will get. I was a bit sad to find out they didn't have the donuts available for sale. Not sure if they ran out or just didn't bring it at this time. I really would've wanted to try it. BUT I was happy about everything else. If you purchase $25+ of the food products, you get a tote bag included with your entire order! The things I bought were: Mug ($13)- My pictures should show how cute this is! According to the bottom of the cup, you can't put this in the microwave. When you order from the truck, they give you a ticket to give to a worker underneath the tent, and they will even let you examine the cup before they give it to you, and put stickers and buttons on the inside too! 5 pieces of macaron ($15)- A rainbow assortment of these cute French cookies with the white one having Hello Kitty's face painted on and the rest with a red or pink bow glued on the top right (assuming it's white chocolate though). The flavors of each macaron pretty much corresponds to its color: Green- Pistachio, Blue- Chocolate, Red- Strawberry, Orange- Lemon. I gave the white one to my mom but didn't ask what the flavor was. They were all so good! Moist inside with a bit of a crunch on the outside. The flavors of the inner frosting had a hint of boldness to it. I recommend eating these first before they go stale. 4 pieces of petit cakes ($15)- These were sooooo good! I was actually expecting these to taste mediocre (as well as the macarons) but I wish they made these even bigger! The fondant wasn't too sweet, which was perfect for me. I actually only ate two of these before writing this review but I'm such a huge fan! I'm assuming the flavors are similar to the macarons. Overall I was extremely happy with my purchases. There was an option for sugar cookies and a water bottle shaped like a bow but I didn't want those. I wish the packaging or at least the signs had a list of ingredients used for those who are curious about what the flavors are because you pretty much have to figure it out yourself. Also if you have allergies, that's important too! It would be a waste waiting in line to find out you're allergic to something. I would definitely visit the truck again when it's in town! I was really looking forward to the Hello Kitty Truck coming to the Miami area. The line at Sawgrass Mills was too long for me to wait so I went to the Aventura Mall. The items are cute but expensive. The 3 stars are for the fact petit fours were horrible. They tasted spoiled and I had to throw away. For that money, they need to make sure they are not spoiled. Hello Kitty Water - $3 Hello Kitty Macarons - 5 for $15 Hello Kitty Mini Cakes - 4 for $15 Hello Kitty Donuts - 3 for $10 My wallet - crying. Of course, one gets these treats more for the novelty of it, not the taste. Donuts- the first box I got was super ugly. The donuts were messed up in the packaging, so I asked for another one. Better looking. Taste- normal donuts- nothing special. Macarons- they had rainbow color- red to blue. Flavors included lemon, earl grey, and more. The bow was made of chocolate, and it was not bad. Not as soft as macarons should be, but decent. The box was super cute with the clear bow tie! Mini Cakes- I have yet to try. The decoration is A++ though. The fondant cakes are made perfectly! I bought all the desserts listed on the menu because they all looked so cute! Plus points for presentation! All were pricey but you're paying for the brand and for the cute design. As for taste, they weren't terrible. They were all delicious actually! I have a big sweet tooth and was not disappointed! Donuts: You get 3. The bows tasted like white chocolate. All good! Just like regular donuts. I would eat these first before they get stale! Macarons: Raspberry, Chocolate, Passion Fruit, Vanilla, and Pistachio. All delicious! It's so cute! How cool is it that the Hello Kitty truck is a Mercedes-Benz? Anyways, people dress up to wait in line here and there are lots of photo opportunities. This is a great place for a hello kitty fan. They have merchandise as well as the edibles. Everything is adorable, a little pricey, but adorable nonetheless. I assumed after a long hot day, and going through a bunch of people, that we would come across some grumpy people, but I am happy to admit that I was wrong. They were extremely understanding when I was a little indecisive, even when I was splitting up the total between cash and card. I also checked a couple mugs before finally picking the one I wanted to take. They had to be the most patient staff anyone could ask for. A tip or two: You get a free small (adorable) reusable tote with every $25 edibles order (merchandise not included). The tote is like the small tote from the Disney store; perfect for lunches! You get a free button/pin with every $25 merchandise order. (Even though I got one anyway ). You get a free sticker (or 2 or 3 ) with any merchandise order. The merchandise range from $15-30 (mugs, shirts, & plushy bunny head band). The edibles range from $3-15 (bow water, cookies, petit fours, etc). The desserts are more for the fan base rather than the connoisseur. Try to eat before or have food & water with you while you wait. The average wait was about an hour. You want to get there earlier in the day to ensure they have everything in stock. (They ran out of the doughnuts by 12:30). The people that go earlier tend to have a longer wait (about 2 hours) but everything is in stock, so keep that in mind. Overall, it was a great experience. Line was extremely long (was expected for it being the first time the HK Truck was in San Diego) Guesstimated a 2 and a 1/2 hour wait by the entrance of Macys and it turned out to be true. They ran out of dounuts and macarons half way around 2:30 but it didnt stop me. I bought 2 of their mini cakes and a bottle. The cakes were really tasty and really cutely decorated. Asian girls love hello kitty and finally this feline chose its first food truck debut in New York at time square. Such a cute truck with pinky decoration around! Many dessert type of food were selling here so in order to try all of them, my friend and I decided to purchase different things. I got the mini cake (four pieces) and my friend got the macarons (five Pisces). Also got a small mug as a souvenir! A free hello kitty bag would be distributed if you purchased 25 dollars or more. Line was long, though not crazy at around 10, when I first got there yet they had not started to sell food. Cards were accepted so no need to rush to ATM to get money. I went when Hello kitty cafe truck actually came to Santana row in San Jose! Let me start by saying that I am a huge hello kitty fan!! Now on to the pros and cons: (I only bought one thing - the macarons) Pros: -everything was super cute! The foods and the truck itself make for the perfect Instagram moment -I loved the macarons: they were great flavors and I actually felt they were very competitively priced. $15 for 5 macarons may even be cheaper than if I were to buy 5 same sized macarons at Cocola. One way they can improve is to make an actual hello kitty shaped macaron (but don't do that if it'll increase prices :p) -the staff were all very friendly! -accepts credit card Cons: -Long lines. Like really long. People were lining up before the truck even opened. If you come in the afternoon, be prepared to wait 2+ hours -need to have more credit card checkouts. Maybe consider an online order and pick up system -overpriced water and strawberry lemonade -I think everyone should get the tote bag, not only those who spend $25 -everything (asides from the macarons and donuts in my opinion) was really overpriced I came expecting long lines and had a group of friends to keep me company. I really really LOVE Hello Kitty but the food isn't great. I got the cookies and the macarons. The macarons were crumbly and fell apart too easily, they weren't horrible tasting but I have had better. The cookies were super cute but tasted gross. I was very disappointed with my visit to the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck, I felt not it was organized very well to get customers through the line. I was there an 1/2 hr early but I left 2 hrs later without getting to the truck. As a huge Hello Kitty fan it's not easy to leave a poor review but I need to be honest. This truck is cute, really cute. It's a novelty, but that's it. First off they are always unprepared. They run out of items every time they make an appearance. I would understand if it was late in the day but to run out of an item at 2:00 when you're scheduled to be somewhere from 10-9 and after you've spent two weeks hyping it up on social media is poor planning, period. You know you're popular. You know people drive long distances to get to you. Plan ahead people! I wish I could say the treats tasted good but I'd be lying. Their treats are very dry and overly sweet. You can taste the preservatives and food coloring. Little Debbie treats taste better! They are cute to look at though. Again, it's a cute concept. Literally obsessed with Hello Kitty and I can definitely tell you, if you're a fan it's a must go to attraction at least once in your life. I got there about 30 minutes before it opened and only waited in line for an hour. I suggest coming early because the line ones build up extremely fast. I ordered two lemonades, doughnuts, and petite four cakes which were all decorated super cute. So they say the lemonade comes with a reusable cup, which I don't believe is true. It seemed more like plastic, but it was still cute. The lemonade was also my least favorite item on the menu. It just didn't taste like strawberry lemonade. Super excited when this truck came to Raleigh because I have a huge obsession with hello kitty. However, I felt like I wasted my day waiting in line. It was so long and I think the line could have move more quicker if they set more tables where they can sell more to other customers. My favorite dessert was the macaroons. It was quite tasty compared to the mini cupcakes because it tasted kind of stale. I really like the mug and thermal bottle I got, but it's kind of pricey too. A lot of the items were really cute! (Water bottle in the shape of a bow $3 and shirt for $25). I got the macarons $15 and the donuts for $10. Both items had cute little bows on them. I think that the macarons tasted okay despite sitting in a truck all day. The donuts were of lesser quality than those at Safeway. I would pass on these. I would recommend the macarons or petite fours. When I came here I wasn't expecting to get anything since it was already 11AM and the line was at the end of the block, ready to wrap around the corner. It pains me to give my all time favorite Hello Kitty a poor review - but the TRUCK is an absolute sham in my opinion!!! I stood in line for the cafe truck when it traveled to Santa Anita Mall with a friend - to our surprise only 3 food items were available!?!?!????? All PRE PACKAGED sweets! Nothing fresh and the price point for each item was about $15. Total rip off!!! They offered a box of 4 super mini "tea cakes", a box of 5 macaroons & a box of 3 character sugar cookies individually suctioned wrapped in plastic. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! Especially since the pictures being posted leading up to the event were of a variety of tasty looking desserts & really cool drinks! When I got to the front of the line & saw only 3 goody items to choose from I had to ask where everything was that I saw online in pictures. I was told (drum roll please .......) that those items were only available at the actual cafe somewhere way out in the Riverside area. WE HAD BEEN OFFICIALLY BAMBOOZLED!!! The elusive Hello Kitty Cafe Truck visits Las Vegas twice a year (source: truck employee) and when they do, you better believe I'll wake up extra early -on a Saturday- so that hello kitty can take my money! No regrets! =^..^= The cutest (& pinkest) Mercedez Benz van with "pimped-out" bow-tie rims sets up shop at the Fashion Show Mall, right outside of Forever 21 & TOPSHOP. There is valet parking right in front of the truck stop, or you can do self-parking in the parking structure directly underneath the truck stop. The mall provides partial shade and there are also benches scattered about the surrounding area. The cafe is open for business from 10am - 8pm and then they cruise back to their home in Los Angeles, CA. We arrived at 10:30am and the line was starting to get long. We waited about 20 minutes for our prized hello kitty treats. At about 11:30am there was no line at all. They don't make anything on site, everything is prepackaged and ready to go. Their menu is small with options such as: Bow tie plastic water bottles $3 Strawberry lemonade $4 Donuts 3pc $10 Ceramic hello kitty cafe mug $13 Macaron 5 pc gift box $15 Petit 4 cakes $15 Cafe shirt $25 They also had a LA limited edition pink bow headband for $30 Everyone received cute little pink hello kitty cafe stickers while we waited in line. Also, if you spend $25+ you'll get a small reusable pink hello kitty cafe tote to hold your goodies. I wish they passed out free fans, but I was out of luck this time. The macarons and the strawberry lemonade were my favorite! The lemonade was perfectly tart from the Meyer lemons and the delicate strawberry purée was super refreshing. The macarons are super cute, rainbow colored, and each one adorned with a red or pink chocolate fondant bow. The flavor matched the color of the macaron, for example: cherry red, vanilla bean white, orange citrus, blue (oddly) chocolate, and I'm not too sure but I think green was green tea. My favorite flavors were vanilla, citrus, and cherry! Also, they offer a surprise Sanrio character face on one of the macarons in every box; in one box I received a Little Twin Star boy "Kiki" and in another box I received My Melody! I'm on a mission to get a box with a hello kitty macaron! The macarons tasted so fresh! I loved how the cookie-part held up to each bite, without crumbling; the delicate flavored filling was moist and not overly sweet - surprisingly tasty! Do I feel guilty for splurging? You bet! I went to the one that was in Austin and it was alright. The decorations on the macaroons fell off pretty easily and some customers didn't know you had to pay for the merch at the car and not at the table, so it was a little messy. Here is my take on this... I am a Hello Kitty FAN. A Super FAN. The mass commercialization of my little friend does not bother me. What borthers me is when someone uses and gets a license to mechandise a product and depends on the Hello Kitty trade mark to make a dollar. Just because you slap a Hello Kitty face or bow does not give you the right to make SUB PAR product and expect us to give you money. I was at Hello Kitty Con and as my Husband said - I paid money to stand in line. Then I stood in line to spend more money. I am fine with that part and did minimum complaining as all is worth it. The one thing that was beyond disappointing is the donuts we bought from the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck. We spent a total of 20 dollars for the most awful 6 donuts. Yes it was cute. Yes it was packaged well. Yes it was merchandised very well. But my goodness. The donuts tasted so stale and gross. It really upsets me that someone will take the Hello Kitty trademark and just make an awful end product. It upsets me that the people at Sanrio would allow such an awful tasting product to represent their most famous little girl. What makes it the ultimate worse is the price they charge. Its high way robbery for yuck. For the cost someone pays for a novelty item - It should at least be eatable. The donut was just pure yucky. I'll give this place the benefit of the doubt that because it was Kitty Con and they were probably overwhelmed with the sheer volume of people at the Convention. I'll update my review when I return as I believe all businesses deserves a second chance. There are always kinks with new business. I totally understand that part. But as for now Its a one star joint. My advice to the owner - Please rethink and care about the product you are selling. I love Hello Kitty. I want to support Hello Kitty. But I am not going to support you when you don't put the care and love she deserves. I've been to awful restaurants however unless the service is beyond rude and obnoxious I don't get upset. What upsets me is that it feels like you are using Hello Kitty just for your financial gain with no care to the end user. Its not smart on your part as most people will go once to your business and not return. More so - you are putting an awful name/ product associated with Hello Kitty. That upsets me the most. My beloved Hello Kitty being associated with crap. The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because of the packaging. Go stand in line for four hours to get some crusty processed mini donuts for $15 so you can post on instagram and your friends may still "like" you. I could barely tell they were even Hello Kitty branded as it looked as though the box outweighed the level of production value as the actual donuts. I hate to admit that I was even here but a friend of mine wanted to get the donuts and cake. I waited till close to the end of the festival to jump in line as you could see it was finally depleting. At this point, it still seemed like it wasn't moving. Does it take 15 minutes for people to decide between donuts or cake or small bottled water? It was painful in the end as they had to shut down the Hello Kitty truck due to the festival closing time. The police stepped in and enforced a barricade on the Hello Kitty Truck as the fans in the line began chanting "We Want Hello Kitty Donut" and the sound of audible "boos" could be heard throughout the Cherry Blossom Festival of 2015 as at least one Hello Kitty fan had to be tazered and restrained by SFPD. The main attraction had shuttered its windows and cast those without pink donuts out onto the streets of San Francisco forlorn and unappreciated, many of whom would later develop post-adolescent depression due to the events of that day. read more

Kinda Gimmicky. But Hello Kitty Me and grab me some goodies! This little foodie truck was at Comic Con, in more than one spot. One was in the Lexus Parking Lot by Petco Park and the other one that I saw was at Nerd HQ at the Children's Muesum. Normally, I would balk at paying a ton of money for mini cakes (petit fours) and Macaroons. I HAD to spend over $25 so that I could get a Free small tote bag. And you better believe that I spent the money so that I could have my Hello Kitty bag. The lines were longer at Petco and shorter at Nerd HQ. I was lucky to have hit the line when there was only about 5 or 6 other people in line. Once I got home and sampled some of the goodies. They weren't so bad. Pros: Really good macarons! I really hope to run into hello kitty cafe again! The bow water bottles are so cute! Cons: Long 4 hours or more wait lines! Should have more food trucks to accommodate people faster! My friends and I went to CBF on the first day and we were looking forward into getting some Hello Kitty goods, but we arrived exactly at the festival at 10 am and already had a brunch reservation at Crown and Crumpet to go to first. Right after that, we met up with more of my friends and we all went to the HK truck to get some goodies and the line was RIDICULOUSLY long! Im talking about BLOCKS down! And people who had already bought from HK cafe said that they waited for like 3 or 4 hours just to get their food! We all thought that it was a waste of time because we could be using those 4 hours to enjoy other festivities. And plus I heard that HK cafe doesn't make food as you order, the food already comes pre made and pre packaged, so it's like first come first serve thing! So we were thinking with a 4 hour wait, more than likely they weren't going to have any more food left by the time we got up front! So I was looking forward to getting some hello kitty goodies, but was disappointed that we couldn't, but we thought the wait of the line was worthless! Luckily though another friend of mine who went on the last day the truck was at the festival had the patience to wait in the long ass line. lol and brought me some macarons and a bottle, so I guess I am not too disappointed anymore that I still get to try some of their goodies! read more

Waited 3 hours for less than half a block. Does not make sense for a place that has everything prepared already and all you need to do is pay. I will never do this again. Plus the pastries was too sweet!! Wish all the fans luck when they visit the cherry blossom festival. Be prepared to waste your time in line. read more

3 Stars for the amazing, creative, attractive pink truck that has turned heads over heels to some. But let me tell you, the line, oh my god, the line is worse than being in line for Harry Potter in Universal Studios. A waste of time and money, the "branded" donuts aren't really worth your penny. Get over to Safeway and grab some of Krispy Kreme, get back over here to the Sanrio store to grab a few Hello Kitty gimmicks, and you're perhaps much better off like that. This is only for Cherry Blossom that's taking place on both weekends in mid April. Not sure if the truck will continue on somewhere, but that's all I know so far. Can't believe I'm 29 years old and waited 2 hours in line to get some HK themed desserts and drinks. But, I did. The donuts (3 for $10) were actually decent, though I was a little put off by the grease stain that soaked through the bottom of the box. Oh well, once in a while won't kill you. We also got the lemonade since we were thirsty after standing in line for so long, and the plastic cup it comes in is pretty thick so I just washed it and saved it for future random use. I also caved and got the $3 water bottle just 'cause it was so cute and it's sitting on top of my dresser now. I heard the petit fours were not that great, and I don't know about the macarons. They also had chubby bunny bow headbands for sale, that I was tempted to get, but quickly dropped that idea upon hearing the $30 price tag. Items for sale this past Memorial Day weekend: - Donuts (3 for $10) - Macarons (5 for $15) - Petit 4s ($10 or $15 I think) - T-shirt ($25) - Chubby Bunny bow headband ($30) - Lemonade ($4) - Water ($3) You also got a free tote with the purchase of food/drinks $25+. Took my friends and me 2.5 hours-3 hours to buy our items. If I knew it was going to be more than 2 hours, I wouldn't have stayed. Once we got near the window they ran out of totes giveaways and macaroons. They made up for the the totes by giving hot chocolate, but they really should have limited the totes 1 per person. Some people got 2-3 free ones! Overpriced as usual, but the cakes were really cute and good. Each cake was designed differently. I wish they had non-food items to buy, especially if they were exclusive. It would have made the wait worth it. read more

It was just 3 months ago when Hello Kitty Café truck made its debut across several metropolitan cities. Now, OPI is having a collab featuring 12 new shades, including gel colors, and it's trucking its way across various destinations within NYC from Jan 21 to Jan 22. Yes, sorry just NYC. The best part is... EVERYTHING IS FREE! Free nail polish, free hot cocoa (you get to choose either dark or pink hot chocolate...yes pink!), and free cookie. No purchases necessary. The only sacrifice you need to make is spending your time waiting on the line in the shivering cold.
