How to review when the technician was wonderful, and the company was terrible. The job was fixing my emails and quoted a price (I thought) of $119. Tech took just under an hour (fixed it all) and the bill was $307!!! This company bills by devices not time. For 5 minutes this tech showed me how to change a password - another device for $79. I tried complaining and no one to complain to!!! Advertised as a "reasonable price" and became an outrageous price. Even though the technician only touched one device - all fixes were on my computer, somehow it ended up as 4. My phone benefited by a fix but he never touched my phone. Worst company ever! HelloTech does not train their techs, plus their techs are unreliable! First tech was scheduled (and I took off of work for the appointment), never even showed up. His name was Sammel. He wasted my day and time. Second tech was scheduled for two days later. He showed up on time and had no idea how to put together the Simplisafe alarm system. He had me helping him, calling tech support and wasting my time for even hiring him. His name is Abayomi Lucas (user ID # 455472). He was a very nice person with zero tech knowledge. He was at my home from 10am till 12:30pm and only installed 2 censors until I was fed up with teaching him how to program. I knew how to program, but needed help with the actual installing. He wasn't any help; I was teaching him. At 12:30 pm I was fed up and told him he needed to go home. We had 12 more censors, a video doorbell, 2 motion detectors and 2 video cameras that still needed to be installed and set up. At the rate he was going, it would have been midnight. I decided to cancel the entire service including with simplisafe. We are now searching for alternative alarm systems that will be professional and have knowledgeable technicians who areTRAINEDAND RELIABLE. When complaining to the manager, "Tom", as he told me, he was very rude to me as I was telling him what happened. The most unprofessional company that I will make sure I will spread this review far and wide sho they don't do this to anyone else. HelloTech just installed a RING doorbell in my home. They promised a 9:30am appointment and at exactly that time, a clean cut young man appeared at my door. He installed the device in about 20 minutes and explained its operation concisely. I feel, with this device, which covers my front door with video, motion detection and tells me on my smart phone who is at my front door our security is greatly enhanced. Negative experience in so many ways. 1) I ordered in wall cord management and was told upon arrival he couldn't do it. 2) installer did not bring a tape measure 3) took way too long to complete ( a couple hours) 4)installer put mount on wall upside down initially and drilled extra holes due to the mistake 5) was confused about what mount to use (the one I ordered was shipped to me yet he brought one) 6) installer did not have shoe covering and tracked in debris on shoes. read more

Horrible job. Long story short, technitian was super lazy, left 3 holes in one of the bedrooms because he was too lazy to measure and messed up installing our cameras. Didnt bother to really check the positions to put them in. Left a hole on a bedroom ceiling because he was too lazy to go in the attic to check (entrance was on opposite side of house but didnt want to go in) so his solution was create a hole, stick his hand in with his cell phone and take a picture and that's how he checked for stuff in our attic. Also tried to sell me wifi extender for 150 bucks because he claimed the wifi wasnt strong enough to get the camera feed (he never plugged it in). Then tried to sell me a transformer for 60 bucks (not including install) and didnt even install the doorbell. $160 install fee for something I could of done! And btw transformers cost 15 bucks at lowes. Called the company and they have me $30 bucks back. Whoopdy do! Now for me to use the money I saved to patch up the horrible work. Can't believe the last guy didn't tell you. This isn't compatible with that. Wow the last guys did a shitty job. Listen, they might be able to fix it, but you'd have to rebook them for another appointment because they need different equipment, they didn't know. But if you like, they could just talk your ear off for a couple of hours and then leave, after which, in about an hour, your wifi will drop off completely and you won't be able to watch TV at all. The tech that came out was googling and watching YouTube on how to install my smart lock on my front and back door. The installation of the smart lock were done wrong to the point it wouldn't electronically unlock/ lock from me using the xfinity app. The tech kept saying it works but he was manually taking his hand and either unlock or locking it then using my phone to do the opposite electronically. Then the app will say the smart lock was jammed or action could not be done. So the tech start chiseling at the lock metal plates to get the smart lock to catch which resulted in my front door not being able to close flushed to the door panel it has a misaligned gap. Then I gave specific instruction on where I wanted my front camera to go but the tech wanted to stand on my brand new table in my living room to drill a hole through the house. I asked him did he need to go get a ladder he stated he didn't want to go through the trouble of unloading and loading it, so he used my ice cooler to stand on. When I came outside to look at the outdoor camera it was installed in the wrong spot. So after letting the tech see the smart lock weren't working and the outdoor camera wasn't installed he started packing his thing. So I immediately contacted customer support because he didn't even attempt to install my second camera nor fix the smart door lock. I ask the tech was he leaving and he didn't finish he told me to contact customer services and they will send him right back out to me to uninstall everything since it's not working in the house. So now I have two smart lock that don't work and a security camera that position to look at a tree in my yard not the place nor angle I ask the tech to put it at. I called and set up an appointment to have a security bulb camera installed. 1st appointment was changed and another set up. Tech called 45 minutes before the appointment to say he had a very important job to do and would come the next day and call 45 minutes before he showed up. I noticed on the appointment confirmation that the charge was total $139.32 - not the $99.00 as advertised on their website. Instead they listed at $129.00 - taxes "0" - total $139.32. DOES THAT ADD UP? They told me the price is actually $129.00 (couldn't explain why it wasn't the $99.00 they advertised it at. The $10.32 was for "safety and support fees" which they tried to tell me was insurance and support" - WTF! In the end they are a "BAIT & SWITCH" company, with the intent to push you into a membership, otherwise called future revenues. They wanted me to sign up for an annual membership of $149.00 "REMOTE" plan with $19.95 per month and a $69.95 in home fee. Once again WTF. That comes out to $459.30. Nothing on their website is clear just like their support department twists things into picking your pocket. BEWARE AND STEER CLEAR. read more

They are no longer referred for service by Ring most likely due to their to their shady on-site service. My service call resulted in saying my router wasn't good enough ( without even trying) and selling me some Lynkis pods along with a one year warranty. Neither one of which were what their service men said they were. Lynkis never worked and service policy didn't include them coming back. Just beware of this company. Don't know where their main company location is but it appears they some sort of a referral service to local employees. It is definitely a shady outfit. TWO months later I found out they signed me up for a subscription I knew nothing about and had no need for. This was very deceptive! They refused to give me a refund. The technician came out and drilled a hole a foot above my baseboard and didn't run I line through it. He then scratched my wood floors with his tools. He had an electrical outlet left open with live wires. He swore in front of my 14 year old son and said I can't do this and left. Total fire hazard with the electrical outlet open and dust everywhere. I've been trying to get reimbursed for the damages for 3 weeks, they've been lying to me saying they'll pay, and they haven't. Memorably Terrible experience. Out first tech scheduled for Wednesday no call, no showed so we sat waiting for 3-4 hours. They rescheduled for Friday and the project was not even completed (left a huge drill hole in the wall where the wire concealment was supposed to go. He drilled the hole with out checking or measuring to other outlet). The TV was mis-measured and had to be remounted damaging the wall with 18 total drill holes left unfixed. He also left the entire mess for me to clean up. I know have to hire a drywall contractor and painters because the damage was so significant. I was also promised a $10 discount on the service because of the original no show and they had no problem charging my card the science the tech left. After calling customer service they were rude and defensive while trying to file a claim. Got on with the company and had to spend a LOT of time getting them to honor that commitment. The replacement tech was upset at where I wanted to put my tv. He mounted it off kilter, not centered as asked. He left the garbage. And he didn't check that the tv had sound (it didn't). --Window sensors on one window placed on wrong sides. --Sensor on another window fell off within an hour after installation. --Time on panel for all transactions appears as 1/1/1970. --Smoke/CO detector incessantly chirping when installer left; I was unable to make it stop. I checked on panel--detector did not appear as part of my system. I attempted several times to add--unsuccessful. Called support; also unable to silence or add. I attempted to remove from ceiling to take out batteries and shut it up. Monitor was installed cockeyed, making it almost impossibke to remove; finally had to shimmy with screwdriver. I corrected incorrect sensor placement, and restuck one that fell off. Awaiting detector replacement. Time still 1/1/1970, after long time on phone with support. read more
