Very disappointing experience. I tried to return a brand-new, unworn jewelry item, but was refused a full refund including sales tax. The staff member I dealt with was judgmental, dismissive, and made an inappropriate comment to my husband, saying he should "take me out to eat instead." Completely unprofessional behavior. I will not be shopping here again. They ended up returning everything anyway but they made it so difficult for us to not confronting them about the sales tax . I would highly recommend you do not show at this store! The customer service there is worst then terrible. I was walking out of the store and was yelled at by the manager. I had my wedding ring soldered together and it broke because they only soldered it in one little spot. I had to drive and hour and take it back and the manage that it was ok and it was no big dill. We bought my very expensive wedding ring 12 years ago, at our 10 year anniversary we upgraded from another jewelry store, I wear my other ring on my right hand.. I've lost weight and need the ring resized, tonight I went into the Hulen location and asked the pregnant employee if it could be resized, instead of a simple yes or no she rudely began asking questions about my account since I didn't have my inspection report with me, remember I just needed the simple answer to a question.. she rudely blurted out the ring couldn't be resized... she seemed angry I wasn't buying anything just there to ask about a previous purchase... lucky right across the hall is Kay jewelry, with a friendly staff, and answers.... We have been customers at Helzberg for years. Have more than one bracelet filled with charms and one for my daughter. Also purchased her emeralds from here. Went in to get a watch link out on a watch I received for Christmas. Was asked if it was purchased there. I said I am not sure it was a gift. They asked and I have my phone number and they were able to see all this previous purchases. They did not see watch. So, yes, they could take the link ONE link out of my watch for the small fee of $25!!! Plus tax. This service took exactly one minute. Outrageous! I was incredibly disappointed in this service. The person who waited on my was also incredibly super fake in their purported kindness to us. Zero appreciation for return (many times) patron. Zero awareness that it was 2 days after Christmas and people have gifts they've received. We never mentioned that we would also look at wedding bands for my daughter. I wonder the level of service we'd have received if we did. Subsequently we stepped over to Kay's and actually found the perfect diamond band to compliment her engagement ring. This encounter left a bitter taste on many levels and we will not be returning to Helzberg again. read more

Worst jewelry store in DFW. I bought a brand new ring for my Fiancée and had the warranty placed on it for resizing since she has small fingers and I figured it would have to be resized. When I ordered the ring in store I was told it was a size 6 (smallest I could order) when in actuality it was a size 7 which I later found out when the ring arrived. That was not a huge deal to me until I found out that they were going to charge me $100 to place sizing beads in the ring because they could not resize the ring smaller due to "changing the integrity of the ring" even though I purchased the extra warranty package which they stated would cover all future changes to the ring, including resizing. Not one out of the 4 employees that helped me get the ring mentioned that if they had to size down the ring they would have to do it with sizing beads which would cost me $100 extra and not be covered under the warranty. The employees stated they called their store owner to see what they could do and the owner stated that it was too bad and I would have to pay for the beads. Flash forward to a week later when my now Fiancée walked into a zales which stated they could reset the stones on the ring to make it the size she wanted without using sizing beads and affecting the integrity of the ring. This place is very dishonest and will try to get every penny out of you. Do yourself a favor and walk across the hall to the Kay jewelers next door. read more

My husband and I bought our wedding rings at Helzberg Diamonds at Hulen Mall in 1998. I have faithfully taken them in for cleanings and inspections and have been pleased with the salespersons. We recently had to upsize my husband's ring and were charged a certain price which we paid. The ring felt a little too large so the sales lady told him to wear it a couple of weeks and if he thought it still too large, to bring it in and they would downsize a quarter size at no charge. We had upsized 2.75 times and felt it needed to go down .25 so we did take it back. We got a receipt that indicated there would be no charge. To our surprise, we got a phone call saying there would be an additional charge. I was not happy and told her we would just pick the ring up, with no changes. About an hour later, I got a phone call saying they would go ahead and not charge the additional fee. So I wanted to thank the store manager, Irene Alvarez, for honoring what her sales lady had told us. I consider it good business to honor what they originally quoted so I appreciate that Helzberg did this. Thank you. read more
