This is the worst place that i have ever had the bad luck to enter. I don't know about the food; we didn't get any food. After 15 minutes in a small almost empty restaurant with three visible waitstaff, we finally got drinks brought to our filthy table. People around us, as in right behind us, had their table cleaned, drinks delivered and order taken. To my knowledge, we did nothing offensive nor were we acting or dressed in a manner that would lead one to believe that we would be difficult customers. I am a middle aged woman who was with her mother! When the server finally deigned to ask us for our food order, we decided to leave and left $4 to cover a coffee and diet coke. The waitress then chased us out to the car for the 75 cents that we "owed" her. I don't know if this was somebody's bad day or what but i will never go there again. read more

Small, a little cramped, comfy chairs, easy parking near the tax office, with cutesy chicken decor everywhere ! Waitresses are nice people, who want to please the customers. Didn't really like the place. Food was okay but the service was rough. First of all, when you walk in there's no sign at all that says to sit anywhere you'd like so you're standing there awkwardly waiting. We weren't the only people who did this. Also, I asked if i could substitute my bread for a crepe and our server flat out said no. Couldn't have said it in a nicer way? Their ketchup was in the glass bottles which was hard to get out too no matter how hard you shook it. There was a 12 year old bussing tables which I thought was cute but he couldn't keep up. There were new customers sitting at dirty tables. I wouldn't recommend this place overall. read more

With exception of the rude employees at the business next door smoking too close to the entrance, this was a most enjoyable experience. Our waitress "Ice T" was most attentive and made sure that our every need was attended to. The quality of the food rivals that of a top chef restaurant. Perfectly seasoned and delicious. Was visiting Sebastian and looking for a good breakfast spot. Hen House was recommended. Great choice! Went twice, everything we had was awesome. I had a western omelet with American cheese both times because it was so good. Omelet made the way I like, thin layer of egg, really fresh veggies, huge chunks of peppers. My side was a biscuit and really fresh tomatoes. Wife had a pancake and french toast the first time. She could not decide, so they gave her one of each. Both very good. Pancakes have vanilla in them. Second time she went healthy with a simpler meal. Juice seemed fresh, coffee good. Great friendly service and fast. read more

A-little confusing when you first walk in. No direction where the horses desk was. One of the workers yelled at us to get out of the way in a rude manner. I had my three month old grandson in a stroller. I almost left but wouldn't let her ruin our day. Very busy but seated shortly after being treated so abrasive. The other waitstaff was amazing and the recommended cinnamon roll we ate while waiting for our breakfast was to die for, literally. Looking at some properties the other day on the intercoastal and found a diamond in the rough right on US 1. When it comes to food, it's got to be fresh, and what could be fresher than eggs from the Hen House? Seriously though, I was seated promptly by a friendly staff member and before too long I had 2 eggs over medium (just right) and some mouth-watering smoked ham sitting before me. I don't understand the occasional bad reviews for this restaurant. We had a very nice breakfast. Service was fast and friendly, the prices were were more than reasonable, the setting was tasteful. As for the food: they had a very diverse menu, but I simply went for the eggs and hash. I am fussy about my hash. It was perfect; nice and crispy and not salty. The biscuits were exceptional. The orange juice tasted like fresh squeezed. A real good indicator of how good this restaurant is, is that they had a full house for the hour that we were there. read more

We saw this place just driving around looking for a place for breakfast. My husband and I like to stop at random places when we are on vacation. It was very good. Service was good and the food was great. Most places that offer home fries are usually bland and this place did a great job. Small and quaint. We will be back. read more

I don't even know where to begin. Huge potential, adorable decor, good menu selection and that's where it ends. The servers are awful. The server we had was a server we had problems with at the Eagles nest because of her rotten attitude. Our food took forever while we watched several tables get their food who came in long after we ordered. My food was cold but boyfriend's food was hot so the kitchen has no idea on timing orders or organization. Food was ok at best. Eggs taste like carton Eggs and no flavor. You are forced to sit at dirty tables as they partially bus tables because the servers have no idea how to bus tables or effectively use their time. There were three of them on and in a place that small they should have been able to keep up since it is all 2 and 4 person tables. It was steady so they probably need a busser since the servers can't handle it. This place won't last unless they make serious changes. read more

We decided to try the Hen House Eatery this morning, it was a good choice!! Arrived around 9am and it was busy but there was still seating available. It's a small but very pleasant place bright with a Farm Fresh theme. We seated ourselves and we're greeted by our server immediately. Nice varied menu, Quiche was on the specials board outside. I opted for the California Crepes, scrambled egg, avocado, bacon and tomato. It was a nice portion of two Crepes and I brought one home. Nice light, fresh and tasty. My husband went the traditional route with bacon and eggs (over easy) with hash browns, rye toast. He liked it very much, he's very very picky!! Eggs cooked perfectly great thick slices of rye toast and a real plus in my husbands eyes, Land O Lakes Butter!! If I were to critique anything I would say the hash browns were a bit pale and needed cooking longer and it would have been nice to either be seated or have a sign that states to seat yourself. Confirmed when we asked the server at the end , but sadly she never ever ever came to the table during the meal to check on us. We returned 50% of the food as it was disgusting. Stopped in last week with a friend for lunch. We got there just in time because within 15-20 minutes the place was packed, indoors and out. We both ordered breakfast-for-lunch. Didn't know it even existed until this week. Pleasant atmosphere. We had a super server. Very helpful on helping us choose. I had the meatloaf sandwich. Delicious and it came with gravy on the side which was really good. I am not a big fan of french fries but they were excellent also. My grandson chose a breakfast sandwich which was a burger with cheese and fried egg. Loved the hash browns because they were not overcooked as they are in many restaurants.
