I have been coming to this BMW dealership since relocating back to Charlotte in the Summer of 2023 for scheduled maintenance. On my very first interaction, I was paired with an excellent service specialist, David Owen. His courtesy, efficiency and attention to detail are unmatched. I have used other service reps at this dealership when David is on vacation, and while all the reps have been polite, David goes the extra mile. On my last visit just before the Thanksgiving holiday, I told him about everything that was happening, but I felt I was forgetting something. After picking my car up on Thanksgiving day, I realized I'd forgotten to get a state inspection. I texted David, who told me to drop by anytime within a specific window. I came first thing on a Tuesday morning on my way to work. I told David that if I needed to pick it up after work, I would. He assured me he would let the technicians know that he needed an expedited inspection and get me off to work on time. Sure enough, David delivered. The inspection was completed promptly, and I made it to work ahead of schedule. Always a great experience here with David. They have a fantastic lounge with hot and cold self-serve beverages if you ever need to wait with your vehicle. They also have an excellent shuttle service and loaner program for service on the go. Excellent service. Great brand. This specific location is outdated and not on par with BMW. Many franchises have amenities for guests waiting on service like an on site restaurant, play area, multiple televisions, media stations, comfortable chairs and at the very least a tidy environment. Hendrick BMW on Independence appears to be an unkept afterthought that's not very clean and overall a poor experience to be there. It's depressing when the nearby Honda dealership is much nicer. This is my third time using BMW for scheduled maintenance on my BMW 4 series and each time I've never had problems scheduling an appointment and receiving notifications for upcoming appointments. The greeters here are very professional and they make sure to expedite getting your car checked in and an advisor talks with you. My service advisor Devin Vargo was polite, professional and courteous and definitely took care of me and my car. If you have an appointment, you can expect to wait an hour during busy times even for an oil change. However, their customer lounge is well equipped with comfortable chairs, a work station, television and snacks. Overall, the service here is excellent and goes to show you get what you pay for because yes you do pay a premium price for premium service. I typically for all of my service needs, I go to Hendrick BMW. There is a variety of services that this dealership handles. I've never had an issue with using this dealership for service, as well as for purchasing vehicles. The dealership is located on Independence Blvd, in a very convenient area. There is plenty of parking available, even if you are not getting service. However, if you are getting service, there is a garage that you enter via automatic sensor doors that raise up. The staff is friendly and typically within a matter of minutes, someone is coming over to get you checked in for your service needs and to alert your advisor. Your service advisor will keep you posted during the service period and once your service is complete, they will alert you to pick up your vehicle. I ended up with a change of heart after today! My husband & I was pretty upset with this location at first. We were trying to call BMW road assistance & they were giving us the run around. Then we called the BMW to locate our car and it took them all day to get back to us. Originally, we weren't supposed to get our car worked on until sometime next week but because of the inconvenience we've experienced, they ( Matt, Lucas and Jesse) promised to get our vehicle taken care of the next day. I am still friendly to this day with my salesmen, Bryan Armbryster ( my Mini that i still have and love....he is now living in NY), and JEFF SHINN ( M3 and now X4) and my service advisor, Luca Ryner. Also, in finance, Mr. Nadir ( please forgive my forgetting the full name...) . My work schedule is difficult to work around. But Hendrick staff and Jeff in particular, accommodated me so that I could replace my paid off and in perfect condition, low mileage "murdered" ( by a wreckers driver) M3. My heart was broken to see my rare car crushed by a truck while I was stopped at a stop sign. I had trust in Jeff from my previous purchase, so I immediately called on him to help me find a suitable replacement. Jeff understood what I like in a vehicle, and I was specific in my request. I saw one listed that I thought nay be perfect ,and I asked to test drive it, but it was already sold. Jeff then sent me a picture while I was at work of a car he did have that was the same vehicle with different color combo... I hated it. Jeff knows me pretty well and convinced me to come look at it anyway. Which makes sense because I wanted to drive that engine specifically, and then we could go look for the color I wanted. But when I saw it in person, I was surprised to like it somewhat. I enjoyed driving it ,and it quickly grew on me. I brought it home yesterday, which is quite a feat, given my crazy work schedule with all the extra hours I put in. *** It is worth noting that NATIONAL GENERAL INSURANCE has treated me like total crap and they do NOT want to pay out or deal with you if you're crashed into by an uninsured motorist. They falsified official CCC reports as comparison vehicles and doubled down on their fraud when called out on it. Stay away from that company if you have any desire for good, honest customer service! Hendrick Luxury Collision held the line and notified me when National General was trying to take my M3 without ever talking to me. Great service! So I came here to get an oil change and also find my nearest dealer so I know where to take my car for service. This dealer is very conveniently located off the highway and within the same vicinity as other dealers in the area. When I pulled in, I waited in the seating area for a few and then was greeted by my Service Advisor: Mariana R. Let me tell you - she was AMAZING! Super PERSONABLE!!! She recognized my plates and the fact that I was a transplant from NJ. She immediately sparked up conversation around that topic and due to the fact she use to work at the dealer where I would get my car serviced from- she was great! Aside from that, the dealer itself was very clean and had a pretty friendly staff. My car did not take long to get serviced at all which was a huge plus because i was able to get some time back in working from home. Additionally, there are a ton of beautiful cars on the lot tempting you to upgrade. If you did not eat breakfast or lunch- no fear as they have a nice little breakfast bar available at your disposal. Bored or don't want to sit inside ? There is a great little mini golf course outside that allows you to get in a few holes while you wait. As many BMW Dealers that I've been too- i thought this was a genius idea and very innovative to passing the time. I have two older model BMW's. My service advisor (and I specifically ask for him), is Jesse Walsh. Jesse is the most competent, professional, and caring service advisor I have ever encountered at ANY dealership. My wife drives a fleet car from Ford and needless to say it is not a good experience at the various dealers in town. I prefer dealer service centers because of their genuine (not knock off) parts and HIGHLY trained mechanics. Granted, it is a little more expensive but hopefully you knew what you were getting into when you purchased a European car. The handling of BMW's is second to none. I have owned them since I was 19 starting with their first mass market car the 2002. In my last three visits to Jesse Walsh at Hendrick BMW going back several years he has always been ethical and able to shave off a few pennies here and there with rebates and finding service bulletins buried in the BMW master maintenance computer. Sometimes requiring no charge for such bulletin items. I hope Jesse stays at Hendrick for the long haul. His desk is often covered with dozens of service tickets and that's just from one days worth of work. To Mr Rick Hendrick - Jesse is in the top 1% of your employees. I was able to purchase a pre-owned vehicle from Hendrick BMW. At the time of purchase I had already spent time going to dealerships to look at similar vehicles and time after time there was always something that held me back from making a purchase. When I arrived I was able to look the vehicle over and test drive. The pre-owned vehicles looked really outstanding so I am going to have to assume that Hendrick has a meticulous inspection process prior to putting a vehicle on the lot. The vehicle looks new to be honest. I inquired about a vehicle online and Tim Cady contacted me later that morning to provide further details about the vehicle. Tim helped coordinate my visit, and when I arrived to look the vehicle over he had it parked right out front, so there was no need to go on a search expedition. I appreciated Tim's assistance in the process. He was very clear throughout the process and delivered on all aspects of the purchase. After many discussions and working to ensure the payment was within the amount covered by our FUN business we ended up walking out with a 2018 and we honestly came to get a 2017 as they usually need to get them off the lot to make room for the next years vehicles. Using sites like kbb.com and edmunds to research a special model and trim, we found our way to Hendrick BMW. Tim Holowko responded to an online request to see if the car we wanted was still available. It was, I drove the just under two hours to Charlotte, and the MOST pleasant car-buying experience I ever had was underway. Tim reconfirmed the appointment, had the car ready to be test-driven, along with a similar model. There wasn't a question Tim couldn't answer, his product knowledge was excellent. We looked over the CarFax together as he pointed out important details in the report. Of course, this was a local one-owner coming off early from a lease, and the report was spotless, so it was an excellent selling tool. The discussion on pricing was very clear and transparent, there was no pressure to buy. I never worried that I would get the "what do I have to do to earn your business TODAY?" Line. The vibe of the business was both professional and laid-back. The car was very clean, but as with most pre-owned, there were some road dings that Tim agreed to have repaired without question. On the test drive, there was a little rumble in the ride, and Tim agreed to get the car into the shop to have that fixed, too. While the repairs were underway, Tim kept us informed and then set the time to come back and get our new-to-us 430i. They took a personal check for the balance of the price and clearly explained several options for extending the warranty, again without pressure. Hendrick adds a year to the remaining factory warranty whether or not you choose to pay to extend the "Platinum" factory coverage. Hendrick owns more than 100 dealerships across the county, but there are still reminders of the "old days" like Tim making sure I had a touch-up paint bottle in the glove box and a full tank of gas going out the door. The full tank is obviously a Hendrick policy- you sign a paper confirming you're taking delivery with a full tank. I would recommend Tim, and Hendrick BMW, in a heartbeat. Made an appt to test drive a fairly-priced cpo bmw and expected to get a pushy salesperson, hidden admin charges and some sort of icky, cosmetic surprise on the car. Totally wrong! The sales rep, Brian Barry, was down to earth, showed me all the car features and educated me on BMW's- I had lots of questions as I had never driven a BMW. The car was also in great condition so much better than other Pre-Owned cars I had looked at. This rating is in no way based on my cash purchase back in January. The one STAR is based on my service experience. Making the appointment with the agent was fine. The Service Rep Jesse was fine, however I feel as though my car should have been ready within the same day for a standard oil change, and tire change. My big issue was with this person Micah(not sure if thats the correct spelling. I had one question pertaining to the transportation fee due to the fact that I lived 11 miles away. I was told that BMW covers 10 miles and anything in addition I would be responsible for. Jesse wasnt sure so he called on this Micah person who came into the office with an attitude. Rude and defensive. He behaved horribly. It was as though it was a privilege for me to be transported. Although, had he listened and not jump to collusion he would have known the question in its entirety. I will never go back to that BMW due to my experience with this person. Horrible. read more

The wait time in the service department is ridiculous and unacceptable EVERY time our car needs to be serviced. The "free" maintenance package is only free if your time is completely worthless. Two hours & 40 minutes for an oil change with no complications or other service completed. A two hour wait to balance tires which was NOT even done; waited two hours for absolutely nothing. After speaking to the Service Manager, "this "serviice" is unacceptable", he agreed (to pacify me) and said he would email us that they would give a loaner next time our car needed any service. No email received. Big surprise. BMW service is supposedly superior but the customer service is awful. We do not plan to ever purchase another BMW after our experience at this dealership. I love my BMW. The buying experience was exceptional. That being said, after 5 years of ownership and service at Hendrick Northlake, unless I move outside the Hendrick radius, I will not be purchasing another. Most of the service advisors are extremely nice and they try to help, but the best don't stick around for long. I think the problem is higher up on the food chain. THEY SIMPLY NEED TO STOP SAYING THEY PROVIDE LOANER CARS. In the 5 years I have owned my car, any service requesting a loaner has taken 3 weeks to a month longer to wait for a loaner. I have had repairs canceled and rescheduled for later because they didn't have a loaner available (after waiting several weeks). Last Fall, I was having a brake issue; took the car in for evaluation and was advised that I needed to replace the brakes. When I told them the warranty should pay for the replacement, suddenly my car didn't need brakes, so they put some sort of stuff on the pads to extend the life. Took an ugly conversation with the Service Manager to get the brakes replaced. My most recent repair for an issue for which I was advised that I shouldn't drive my car until repaired, no loaner was provided so I was without my car for three weeks while they ordered the parts - which I was required to pay for up front; not a problem, but definitely feels cheap and what I would call customer service. Had a mishap with our 2024 M340i. While traveling back to Des Moines on Sunday, we hit a piece of concrete in the road that put a hole on the front tire and bent the rim. A call to BMW Roadside assistance had a tow truck to us in Cameron, Missouri in 45 minutes. That was very impressive. BMW roadside assistance had the car towed to Baron BMW. Had I had a chance to read the service reviews for this dealership, I would have asked for another alternative. A call Monday morning to the service department, confirmed the information they had from BMW Roadside assistance was accurate. I indicated I would be in Kansas City the following Saturday and was told they thought the vehicle would be ready, and they would call as soon as they had a chance to look at the car. I followed up on Wednesday and the car had not been looked at and parts not ordered. On another call on Friday, I was told the parts would not be delivered until Monday and they would call when the car was ready to be picked up. On yet another call on the following Tuesday, I was told the parts did not arrive until 5PM on Monday and they would call when the car is ready. It's going on a week and a half that I have not had my car. This could have easily been a 5-star review instead of a 1-star review had the service department made an effort to communicate and work with me on this repair. read more
