Retro Diner, Home Town Values, Henrie's Drive-in, Home of the Chubby Cheese and best Onion Rings around!

Best Chubby Cheese and Onion Rings ever! The shakes are super good as well! The service is fabulous, everyone is always friendly. Drive up or go in to an old town hamburger shop that is has been in Panguitch for so so many years! Great to sit inside or outside in the cute surroundings!

Well if you happen to be passing through and are just the least bit hungry get yourself a Chubby here! Great double patty burger cooked perfect with all the fixens. Little slow on the service so taking away one star for the long wait on my burgers. Try their Piccadilly style fries for a treat. Pillow soft inside, great with fry sauce. Old fashion diner style in the inside.

Ordered 2 of the #1 special, a chubby cheeseburger w/fries and a soda. Only $20 so price was great! It's very small inside, I definitely wouldn't take a large group to eat inside the restaurant. We had our baby in a stroller and maneuvering that in such a small space almost gave me a panic attack lol It took 20 minutes to get our food, which seemed a little long. But after the fact I noticed they don't have many people working there. The customer service was in, order, pay, here's your food etc .. no chit chat or welcome greeting or whatever, you can take what you want from that. The food was really good actually, simple but great flavor. The fries were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The burger is very plain, just shredded lettuce, chopped onion, cheese and their special sauce (ketchup & mayo mixed) on a bun. Charbroiled with great flavor and not too massive that it was falling apart. It does have two Pattie's. The serving size was not over the top. Pretty much just right. Overall it was good food priced good. Nothing overly special but no serious complaints.

    Inside seating.

Ordered a chicken salad for $8.25 and it was the smallest salad. Absolutely not worth the money...very disappointing.

We arrived about 6 and waited about 20 minutes for a very nice booth. We split a pretty good-sized house salad. It was fine. I had the trout with asparagus and sweet potato fries. Fish (lemon pepper and salt) was tasty and perfectly prepared. Asparagus was also perfectly cooked, still a bit of crunch. The fries were too limp but tasted good. My hubs ordered the ribeye. Looked so juicy and charred but was a bit tough. Flavor was great and it was a gigantic 16-oz. portion. Coffee was tasteless, unfortunately. The absolute highlight of the meal was the pie! The apple pie is the best I have ever eaten. The filling contained nice slices of apples, no mushy stuff here. And the crust was incredibly flaky with a bit of sugar baked on top. My husband ordered the cherry pie à la mode and was quite pleased with the pie and two little scoops of ice cream alongside. Nice staff too! This place is popular for a reason. It HAS to be that incredible pie.

It's our third time eating here: 2-lunch and 1-dinner. We are staying at a nearby hotel and…read morethought this very convenient restaurant. Customer Service (5-stars): The staff was friendly! The plates were cleared on a timely basis and the drinks were filled. It was clean at the buffet. Luis, was our last server in our dinner (our last night). He was friendly and funny! We had lunch on our first and second day, both servers were very friendly and cordial! Lunches (4-stars): We chose the buffet and 1-had the Hamburger with cheese. My sister said her burger was moist and tasty and fries hot and crispy. The buffet for lunch was served on one side of buffet tables with salad and dessert and soft serve ice cream having their separate areas. For lunch, the buffet had a soup area with 2-different soups, corn bread (was a bit dry), and one other item, which I forget. Next to it, was grilled chicken, fish fillet, orange chicken and 2 others; next were the main meats like barbecue pulled pork (very moist and tender), meatloaf and mixed vegetables; next were rice pilaf, mashed potatoes, mixed beans that were tasty. There was a big pile of soft sweet dinner rolls. The salad had all the basics of what you would see in a salad buffet with 4-dressing choices, I believe? For $18, you can't beat the price. We went back for the pulled pork and fish fillet. My sister loved the dinner rolls!! The dessert had just a few items cut in small pieces like orange jello cake, coconut cake and chocolate cake. The orange jello cake was yum! The chocolate was a bit hard. The soft serve ice cream had a cone or cup to fill vanilla, swirls of vanilla/chocolate and chocolate! Carmel or fudge topping was provided. I combined a cake with soft serve ice cream. :) Dinner (4-stars): Third night, was when Spain played England for FIFA which Ruby Inn best western showed it in their lobby. Big crowd was there watching the game; so the line for dinner at 5 pm was none at all. We (3) were sat quickly! Dinner buffet was both sides, this time. More meats and sides: pulled pork but different from lunch (tasted more smoky, tender), beef pot roast (seasoned well with lots of gravy, tender), pork loins (a bit tough but was not bad flavor. Didn't finish it, tho due to the toughness). Fish steamed or baked but was a bit overdone. I like my fish flaky. Nevertheless, it had flavor with a tiny hint of heat. Other meats, like chicken baked and 2-others, i don't remember. They added more sides and there was pasta Alfredo, as well! Desserts had similar except the orange jello cake was replaced with strawberry jello cake, and another strawberry whip cream and a vanilla pudding with fruit topping. The soft serve ice cream was same as lunch. Dinner was $28. Overall, we were happy. The price and decent food was a welcome after doing the hikes and sightseeing! Clean and friendly! We could have gone elsewhere but the price and convenience was worth it! It wasn't the Bacchanal buffet in Vegas, but very good despite a few dishes not being perfect! Price was perfect! Good service! Overall, good food!

There aren't exactly a ton of food options near Bryce Canyon and none of them look particularly…read moreinteresting. We decided to risk the lunch buffet for $18 at Ruby's Inn, figuring that there would be at least one item we would enjoy. There isn't much information about what's actually included in the buffet, either on review sites or on their own website, so we were a bit worried about the selection. While Ruby's Inn can't match a buffet in a larger city, we found the selection to be good enough, with plenty of protein and carb options, veggies including a salad bar, and dessert afterwards. Originally we thought most of the dishes would be Sysco food heated up, but I think Ruby's Inn actually makes a surprising number of items in house. Some notes for the meat selection: Pulled pork - dry but it's quite smoky like they actually smoked it rather than using liquid smoke. Zuppa Toscana Soup - might be from a bag, but is doctored a bit making it peppery and thick. Orange Chicken - gummy with thick breading and low meat ratio, but seems to be made with real orange juice in house. Meatloaf - dry with a thick layer of ketchup baked on top. Baked chicken - bone dry and extremely overcooked. For the carbs, there's sweet cornbread with a condensed milk sauce, rice pilaf that's surprisingly hearty, mashed potato that doesn't seem to be from powder or premix since it has small chunks still, that comes with chicken gravy, and finally mac & cheese, soft with a Velveeta-esque sauce. For dessert, there's vanilla and chocolate soft serve with Hershey's chocolate and caramel topping, and three types of standard buffet dessert squares. I don't make the food sound that appetizing (and honest it would deserve a 3 rating at max in any other setting), but considering the style of dining, the pricing, and the lack of competition in the area, it's good enough to satisfy. Pro-tip: try to time a visit around the tour buses. We arrived at 1:30PM on a Wednesday to a pretty empty restaurant. Thirty minutes later four entire tour buses unloaded their passengers, who were clearly ravenous due to eating such a late lunch. The restaurant instantly filled up and the line for food stretched down the hall and around the corner. Bathrooms - Plenty of larger rooms with multiple stalls around the hotel
