I was really pleased with the results. Subsequently, just before COVID (believe fall 2019), I placed an order for another Bespoke suit and Mark took a $1,400 deposit from me. As Covid endured, Mark stop responding to my texts and calls. A couple years went by before Mark and I finally connected. He mentioned he was having some problems with the business and lost some of his key team members. He asked that I remain patient, which I did. Finally, in early 2023, after more messages and texts, he finally reached out and mentioned he couldn't fulfill the bespoke suit order, but he could have two MTM jackets made with the deposit I already had on file. He sent many fabric swatches to me and we finalized the order. By late summer, he went silent again. He finally surfaced in October and apologized and he stated one of the two jackets would be shipped by end of November '23 with the other coming shortly thereafter. To date, I haven't heard another word from Mark. It appears the order was never placed. I'm looking into taking Mark to small claims court to recover my deposit as I really have no recourse at this point. I can't recommend his services to anyone at this point. Really sad as I liked Mark and enjoyed doing business with him. No idea how he can treat good customers this way.

Immediately Jim found that Mark's shop was exactly what he was looking for. Dispensing with the flashy storefront pretentiousness that is common among bespoke men's shops, Mark has a depth of knowledge on which he drew to help Jim design and construct the perfect ensemble for our big day and the days leading up to it. Mark and his team constructed a classic tuxedo, two sport coats, two pair of slacks, and three shirts. The process was enjoyable and his attention to detail was spot on. Jim couldn't have asked for a better experience, or better outcome. And to top it off, he is still receiving rave reviews on his wardrobe from the wedding week. Highly recommend Mark for any and all wardrobe needs.

In particular, they have fixed a few bridesmaid dresses for me, and actually made those tricky dresses look really good! I also genuinely enjoy the experience of going in there, they're great people! Fatima has also provided helpful suggestions for how to make pieces more flattering or fashionable. For example, I had brought in a dress with a ripped sleeve for her to fix, and she suggested shortening the sleeves while she was fixing it anyway to make it more youthful and stylish, and she was right. Another time, with a bridesmaid dress, she suggesting making an alteration to make the neckline more flattering. She was very upfront about the extra cost. I decided not to make that alteration, but she was spot on that it would have been more flattering. As for the cost, tailoring is expensive. You would't expect a plumber to come to your house for 15 bucks, and the same goes for good tailoring. So it's not cheap, but their work is high quality and they have a good eye. They are also very upfront about how much things will cost, and I sometimes talk to them about what changes I can forgo to bring the price down. They are also fast, and call me to let me know when my pieces are ready. All in all, they are great, and I continue to take my business there!

I don't think Robert should have given this place a one-star review without even trying it. ** The owner of this little shop, St. Clair, is exceedingly talented. He made my dream wedding dress from a few photographs and several meetings with me. I received so many compliments on the dress, and IMHO it was perfect. I knew exactly what I wanted in a wedding dress, but unfortunately was discouraged by what designers were making. I knew I wanted a tea length wedding dress for sure. I really liked Monique Lhuillier, but none of her designs were my true ideal. I wanted something that was a little more "me," but I have no clue how to sew and obviously wasn't going to learn that quickly. After speaking with several tailors in the area, I chose St. Clair bc he was within my budget and extremely personable and professional. I am so glad I made that decision. I've posted some pictures on here so you can see for yourself how talented he is.

I was seeking a custom tuxedo to match the wedding experience my wife and I were planning, and I've only rented tuxedos before. I met Brett at the shop and immediately felt like I was being taken care of through his insightful questions, great candor, honest guidance, and exemplary expertise. Honestly, I came in a bit green to the experience and Brett really took the time to educate me without any impatience, sharing his depth of knowledge to guide me toward the finest dress clothes I've ever owned in my time. I ended up with two custom tuxedo outfits at a competitive price, an outfit change before my dinner reception that had my friends questioning who I was and how I managed to look so sharp. I received countless compliments and kind words from many for how I showed up, and how polished I looked. We had a few small challenges that ran to the wire, as it can happen. It was how Brett resolved them and the certainty by which he delivered on my needs which was truly exemplary. He made sure everything fit and worked perfectly, personally dropped my clothes off at my house, and had one set shipped to me the day before the wedding. He came through, and made it easy for me to trust that he would. I'll be a customer of the Tailored Man for a long time, and alas I won't be able to revert back to a standard look easily now that I've been spoiled by this quality and experience. I'm happy to have a tailor now, and want to thank Brett always for helping me show up at my best, on my best day.

I've tried made-to-measure programs all over the country--from California to New York--and I can…read morehonestly say this is the best made-to-measure suit I've ever had made. What sets this experience apart is that you're not working with someone who is simply selling suits. You're working with someone who genuinely understands classic menswear, tailoring, and proportion, and who has an excellent tailor on the premises. That combination is incredibly rare. In my experience, many made-to-measure programs are primarily sales-driven. The person taking your measurements may be very personable, but often doesn't have a deep understanding of garment construction, fit, or how to modify a pattern to achieve a specific look. This experience was completely different. Every detail was discussed thoughtfully, and there was never any hesitation when I wanted to customize the pattern. Whether it was the lapel shape, shoulder expression, button stance, sleeve pitch, trouser cut, or other details, every request was taken seriously and executed exactly as I envisioned. I'm probably one of the pickiest clients anyone could have when it comes to tailoring. I have extremely high expectations for fit, and I've even had made-to-measure programs tell me they couldn't produce the result I was looking for because my standards were beyond what they felt comfortable promising. This time, the suit arrived exactly as I wanted it. Remarkably, I didn't need a single alteration. That has never happened to me before. Even if price weren't part of the equation, I would still consider this the best suit I've had made through any made-to-measure program. The level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, willingness to customize, and overall knowledge of menswear is exceptional. If you're looking for someone who truly cares about making the best possible garment--not just making a sale--I recommend him without hesitation. I'll absolutely be back for future commissions.

From…read morethe moment you experience truly custom-tailored apparel, there's no going back--the fit, the feel, the confidence... it's on another level. What really sets Suitability apart, though, is the service. Curtis isn't just a clothier--he's an educator. He takes the time to teach you about classic gentleman's style in a way that's approachable and actually fascinating. I had no idea how much things like color coordination with skin tone mattered, but he breaks it all down so you walk away more knowledgeable, not overwhelmed. Each consultation is thoughtfully scheduled (at least 30 minutes), so you never feel rushed. Whether you're designing a dress shirt or a full suit, Curtis walks you through an incredible range of options--fabrics, patterns, colors, details you didn't even know existed. It could easily feel daunting, but he guides you every step of the way with expert recommendations. I've personally purchased three suits with matching waistcoats and several dress shirts, and every single piece has been exceptional in both quality and fit. And then there's the hospitality. Every time I stop by, I'm offered a drink--coffee, water, even a cocktail (he's got an excellent whisky selection). On Saturdays, he hosts an open house with fruit and pastries, which makes the shop feel more like a welcoming community than a store. I've even dropped in unannounced just to say hi, and Curtis always greets me like an old friend. On top of all that, Suitability carries top-tier accessories--pocket squares, cufflinks, colognes, wallets. He's also the only local spot that carries Secrid wallets. I once had my eye on a specific style he didn't have in stock, and Curtis went the extra mile--literally--to track it down at a trade show and secure the *last one available*. I came…read moreto the store because a good friend (who lived in Fairfax) past away and I acquired his last suit that he purchased at William T. Clothiers, and I wanted to get it altered for me in his memory. While I was there I decided to get 4 customs shirts made, as my last tailor retired recently. The shirt measurement process was strange from the get go, the owner/tailor Todd put 2 sample shirts in the dressing room. He stated 1 was for tighter fit, and 1 was for a looser fit. But didn't tell which one was which, so I put on the closest one to me. Todd then started asking me about how I wanted the length/width and such and started to measure me. Then we started to go over shirt patterns and fabrics, and I started to pick out patterns/fabrics/cuffs/collars pretty standard stuff. BTW, once this process started I never did try on the other sample shirts and he never mentioned for me to do so. After all the measuring was finished the pricing came, and OMG it was crazy expensive! The 4 shirts came to an average of $323.75 each, wow. All of my suits, jackets, dress pants, and dress shirts in the last 20 years have been custom tailored as I am an oddly shaped person. I know custom clothing is expensive, but the most I've ever paid for a shirt was about $200, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the shirts as I need a closet refresh. After a few days I got a message that 2 of the shirt designs were not available, so I had to basically let Todd pick the new colors/designs. About 4ish weeks later my shirts were ready for pickup, I was excited to see how the expensive shirts looked. When I tried on the 4 shirts, they were so tight that I was really taken aback. It was like his tape measure or eyesight was not working properly, they were so ill fitting. So all 4 shirts had to be completely reorder, and low and behold another color/design was not available again. That makes 3 of the 4 colors/designs picked out ended up unavailable. Well I picked up the 4 shirts yesterday, 5 months after my original order/measurement. Another bothersome thing with this tailor/Todd is that I ended up in that shop approximately 8 times, and Todd was only there 2 times. He as some nice whiskey displayed in the shop, never did he offer any to me. He knew how upset I was, and didn't even have the decency to be present when I finally pick up my shirts yesterday. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this tailor, there are so many tailors to choose from in the DC area to deal with this tailors crazy high prices, and awful customer service. The shirts are good quality, but this quality can be had for half the price.
