Henry's Hawaiian Grill came highly rated, so I had to investigate. The chicken katsu was good, but tasted more Japanese than local Hawaiian, especially the sauce. (I know some places on Oahu serve their sauce more like this, I just prefer my L&L-style katsu sauce I grew up with lol.) The Spam musubi was generously sized and swimming in sauce... yet somehow still a little shy on flavor. Mac salad and rice were solid. The garlic cabbage was surprisingly good and packed with flavor, I'd definitely get that again. The standout was the Teriyaki Spice Pork. Tons of flavor, and I'd happily eat it again. Overall, good Hawaiian BBQ, but not quite "take me home" Hawaiian. Kahu's is still my Phoenix benchmark when the Hawaiian BBQ craving hits. read more

Everyone here is so nice and their food is delicious. Their combo plates are less than $16 and they like on the protein. Everything is so juicy and their Mac salad is delicious. They have free water cups so you can fill water at the soda fountain on the left side. It's not on their menu but you've got to ask and try their salt and pepper fish. I found them by accident on DoorDash and the food was amazing. Yesterday I came into the location and ordered food and it was even better. Their Chicken Katsu is to die for with a perfectly fried breading and their homemade Katsu sauce, ohhh that sauce! I've only ever had the chain Katsu sauce and Henry's sauce takes the trophy with its touch of heat and amazing spice flavors. They really need to bottle it and sell it because I would love to take some home and marinate ribs in it, it's that good! Their chicken, pork chops and short ribs are amazing. I always get their tempura chicken appetizer which cannot be beat! It's perfect fried and tender and they have their homemade tartar sauce on the side. Their restaurant is clean and wide open with plenty of seating. It's decorated with nice homely touches. This a mom & pop Hawaiian bbq spot. It appears to be family only and they are always moving. The lady at the counter does it all, taking orders, serving orders, phone orders, everything. I'm pretty sure she would like some help. I was impressed and tired just watching her! I ordered the sweet chili chicken for me and the katsu chicken for my son. 10 min later, my order was up and I could see the steam coming from the chicken...just how I like it! My son got the katsu sauce on the side. I placed my order to go but I had to taste test my son's food to make sure he wouldn't get poisoned it was too good. I've always wondered about these Hawaiian grills that I see throughout the valley. I decided to try Henry's while my dad got a haircut a few doors down. I ended up ordering a house combo and was pleasantly surprised. First let me say I don't like macaroni salad, but I decided to try it since it came on my plate and I ate it before everything else. It was so good. I would definitely come back for that alone. A house combo is very good. The fish was crisp, not greasy and extremely hot, the chicken was excellent juicy tasty I don't know what they did to it but I don't think I've ever been overwhelmed by how good chicken was before eating this. The rib was tasty, but chewy and impossible to cut with plastic utensils I ended up eating it with my hands. It wasn't really a rib so much as a fat piece of pork with a tiny little bone in it. But I really enjoyed it even though it was a little chewy. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely go back to this restaurant read more

You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. My son and his wife ordered the Chicken Combo and loved it! Plenty of food. They took leftovers home. I have to start by saying the name is on point! Love the name. I mean come on, Henry's. Starting with the menu.... Comparable to Ono. So if you enjoy that one you'll be very happy with Henry. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Started off with Spam Musubi and it was delicious. 2 rolls per order. The rib eye steak and teriyaki beef were very very good. The meat on both very tender. Teriyaki had just enough flavor without overtaking. You will not be disappointed with either and did I mention the tenderness on the beef. Macaroni salad was nice and creamy and just a little better than the competitor. I will be returning and trying out other menu items. Service was fast and friendly. Great food and hefty helpings! We order the chicken katsu, and they give you so much chicken. Great to have a little extra leftover to enjoy again the next day. The katsu sauce is spicy though; I use my own katsu sauce from Sprouts instead. They don't skimp on meats, you're getting your moneys worth. Katsu is always crunchy- today's plate the pieces were cut really big it was hard not to take 3 or 4 bites to eat 1 piece so a little messy. The same girl is still at the counter to take orders and helpful. There is a new one I hadn't seen before who was working on bobas which I didn't know they had! The Hawaiian platter was very disgusting. The food was very cold. The shrimp pieces were extremely small and it was very nasty.

First time I came here since I was next-door, picking up some medicine. Ordered to go. Got my food. Noticed there was no sauces around. (They have no self serve sauces) I asked the girl when she hand me the bag if there were sauces. She told me they were already in the bag. I checked the bag in the car. There's no sauces. Only a small amount on my chicken and two tartar sauces for my fish order. I go back inside to ask for sauces, go back to my car, and I realize there's no napkins and no forks, so I have to go back inside to ask for that as well. It just seems very stingy to me. Not to mention the sides and vegetable portions seem small for what they're charging. Typically, I do go to ONO and I wish I had. Wasn't at all impressed by the flavors or lack of flavor & the chewiness of the ribs but that's probably just my personal preference. The food was ok otherwise. I wouldn't order here again. Customer service definitely needs to be better, you should be offering your customers sauces, and cutlery. read more

The family and I were craving something different and we been wanting to try Hawaiian food for a long time so we decided to stop by. Walking in felt relaxing. Everyone quite enjoying their food. You order your food at the front and then you take a seat. We ordered the teriyaki chicken, sweet chili chicken and the spam musubi. All were flavorful and were given in huge portions as well. After my second visit to Henry's Hawaiian Grill(HHG), I am convinced that they are masters of their domain! They definitely can lay the smack down in the kitchen! These guys put out some legit food! I am writing this review after enjoying their fried rice and macaroni salad, I obviously washed my hands! I am already planning on what I will eat on my next visit. If you have driven past this place, turn your steering wheel at full lock to drive back to HHG! If you do not live on this side of town, no problem...plan a stop here and pick up some food while you're driving in/out of town! In all seriousness, I hope the kitchen is able to keep the consistency going and provide good meals to many more folks!
