The inside is cute and clean, and it wasn't too busy or packed. There was also parking right in front. I ended up ordering the beef patty loco moco and my aunt got the teriyaki something. I did not like my loco moco at all... everything was cooked well! I just don't have the tastebuds for a loco moco. The owner listened to me tell him why I didn't like it, saw how disappointed I was, and surprised me with a container of teriyaki chicken and white rice. I'm more of a sweeter teriyaki person (there's is more savory) but the meat was cooked SOOO well and as you can see, I really enjoyed it. My aunt liked her food as well. All in all I'd be back. We had decided to stop here because we had a coupon and have never tried it but absolutely love Hawaiian food, upon arrival the establishment was really clean and well kept which is always a good sign. We were greeted by a gentleman who was very kind and helpful that answered all the questions we had . The order was placed and probably ready within 5 minutes so just absolutely great service . Now onto the most important thing the food , we decided to order the teriyaki chicken 2 meat plate and chicken Katsu 2 meat plate which I have to say were absolutely great everyone loves the food and it was a really good size portion. I really enjoyed all their meats I have selected. Hawaiian chicken, shredded pork, and katsu chicken. I thought the Hawaiian chicken looked dry but it was tender and delicious! Their katsu chicken was crispy (on point!) and their macaroni salad was good (had nothing to complain about) My toddler had kid teriyaki chicken and finished all his meat! (Toddler approved =) My husband loved the lemon chicken the most. I also had their Manipur and my son and I loved it. Similar as the Chinese dim sum bbq pork bun. The cabbage is even worst, it tasted like it was old and not fresh at all, again no flavor. I chose a plate with BBQ Chicken and Short Ribs. An extra $1 for the ribs gave me the expectation that it would be good. However you only get 1 small short rib!!! What saved it was the char taste but there was not a lot of marinade. Again the same thing with the chicken. For $11 I was expecting a lot I guess. And if you are paying much you should expect great food. However this place failed big time and I feel like I was robbed. The fried rice and maceroni were good. I know we are going through tough times so I ate mine. My wife ordered the noodle soup. I love Hawaiian BBQ this place is at the bottom of the list. They are trying to compete with food that has already been perfected by Ono's Hawaiian BBQ. Go up the street on 67th and Peoria and compare for yourself. This place Love's flavor is no where near as good and portions here are way too small and over priced. I paid an extra $1.50 for 1 kolbi short Rib. At Ono's you get 3 short ribs included at no additional cost. This place needs to step up their flavor and portions if they are going to survive. I would not recommend this place at all. Even If you just got out of prison and haven't had real food in a long time I still wouldn't. I can respect small moms and pop shops but don't be stingy with your portions. I had high hopes but they let me down. Won't be back. read more

This place is definitely on par with Ono. The staff (owner) is very friendly and ready to answer any questions. We had the Kahlua Pork and Teriyaki Chicken. The pork was amazing! Not too salty, too fatty or watery, just right. The chicken was very good as well with just enough "char" on the edges and as sweet as any teriyaki sauce should be. The mac salad was delicious; not better or worse than Ono, just slightly different, but still creamy and tasty. The rice was perfect, soft and sticky as it should be. The only negative (when comparing to Ono), the serving sizes were a little less (although, to Love's credit, their scoop of mac salad was far larger than Ono's), but we didn't at all feel like we were ripped off. And, did not leave feeling like we didn't get enough to eat, that's for sure! FYI...they serve Pepsi products. We're more Coke fans, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker.
